If you want to eliminate bleed through on your water line don't pull the tape tight, just place it down under its' own tension and rub the edge down with your finger. I've been modelling for almost 50 years now and only learnt this about 5 years ago. It makes a huge difference. Nice build nonetheless.
hi, i have a weird question: what is the purpose of applying dilluted white glue on the sails before cutting them? (my guess is it's too avoid the fabric fraying?) and also, are the sails ripstop material? great video and magnificient boat!
The water is not the same scale as your model. Boats this small need a finbox and a bulb on a fin keel to stay upright. A DF65 keelfin and bulb should fit nicely, if you want it to be a RC sailboat. Something to decide before the deck is glued on...
@@spacemansabs Correct, to be able to sail is as an RC model, it has to be at least three times bigger. Four times would make it even easier, as you would not have to build in extreme 'lightness'... And a finbox with a deep vin keel.
Such a beautiful work of art. Well done.
Thank you so much 😀
Beautifully made. Need lead in the keel to keep it upright in water!!

Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Looks like a case for a magic Australia II winged keel. Upright and fast!!!
Australia II is a lovely yacht. I should build a model of it later. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, exactly. Also make the sail more stiff which is easier to handle when set them up.
What's the model kit named? Very nicely made video!
Thank you. It is J-class Rainbow from Amati. The link is in the video description.
What type of glue is that from the bottle with the long nozzle?
Crazy glue. The link in the video description

It has more to do with dimensions and weight don’t scale down the same. Even if it had a full lead ballast it would tip over.
