Hello, I am not sure I understand your question. Perhaps your question is a political statement. Why spend time and energy analyzing income inequality? Instead we should focus on how to make workers more productive . After all, income is just a reflection of productivity. If this is your point, I completely agree. I do not know why there is so much interest in the Lorenz Curve. But, perhaps your question is more mechanical about how I got the original income numbers. I just made them up as an example. In the U.S. you can find income grouping in the census data. Almost all countries have similar data if you want to produce an actual Lorenz Curve.
