Small correction for the mobbing part with quintuple throw. It does not only hit 1 enemy but 4. The first 4 stars target the first enemy, the last big one targets the second enemy and that repeats for the shadow partner. If you don't oneshot, it only targets 1 enemy though.

I've played on and off and never very far into maple, but I would play Luminous and Phantom because they looked so cool and I recently came back and tried night walker and honestly it's my favorite class and its been so fun to play and grind. I still don't know next to anything about this game but I'm loving it!

Oh nice!! Yeah nightwalker is very very good now. Night lord has always been great on burst. Shadower seems very solid as well. I say just pick whatever seems to look the coolest to you. All 3 are great~

Got that right! Always loved them, but didn't like jumping. Glad they did away with it, yet still kept it at the same time. Except now you get dark sight for jumping rather than more damage.
Shadow bats are your mobbing bats, and Ravenous bats are your bossing bats. Ravenous bats don't bounce between mobs, and instead they do multiple lines to a single enemy. Shadow bats do a single line to enemies but can bounce / ricochet between them. The game wants you to use shadow spark for mobbing (2nd job) with shadow bats (1st job.) You begin using Quintuple star to summon more bats once your bats are doing a lot more damage though. But I've always just stuck to using shadow spark.
