We recommend using multi-breed composite bulls on straight bred or crossbred cows. You get the higher libido of the hybrid bull and you maintain about 2/3 of the heterosis of a typical f1 in all of your calves, regardless of cow breed. It greatly simplifies crossbreeding. The research was done at the Meat Animal Research Center in Clay Center, NE. We’re in ND but there are multi-breed composite bull’s available throughout the country.
I have asked this question for years; using a F1 Bull on a F1 cow does that help for reproduction.
