Yeah man, he did talk about wrestling a lot even talked about wrestling in WWF at the time. Crazy he would end up being one of the greatest ever. I met Vince McMahon in Kuwait back in 2010, he and the Big show and a few other wrestlers would come and visit troops and stuff. While talking to Vince backstage I was surprised to know that Vince himself did not know Brock was in the military. I thought that was odd.
For those interested to know, one day the 2nd PLT Drill Sergeant used me to get Lesnar fired from his position as Platoon Guide. We had 4 Platoons, each with 4 squads that made up the "Company". I was first Platoon, First Squad as well as Lesnar. During about the 2nd or 3rd week of training, we broke for bathroom/water break. After each break the Company masses into formation for accountability, to make sure every Soldier is present. I filled my canteens with water from the lister bags and somehow fell into the 2nd Platoon. I realized my mistake and tried to hurry to the 1st Platoon but the Drill Sergeant told me to stay there. They bring the Company to attention and whoever was in charge of 1st squad, 1st Platoon said all present. PVT Lesnar's duty was to report the Platoon accountability during formations as Platoon Guide. I was obviously not there, I was in 2nd Platoon LOL. Brock Lesnar was fired from the position right then and there due to that instance and I swear to this day it wasn't my fault. Needless to say, Lesnar was not happy with me at all that day 🤣. He looked at me like he wanted to ring my neck. No, he didn't F5 me later in the barracks room but I did explain to him what happened and he understood. It actually want his fault, it was the person on charge of 1st squad's fault. ( That person was replaced also). #GoodTimes 😆
Sure no peoblem. Yes, I retired from the US Army Bands in 2016. Spent 21 years in about 8 different bands as a Euphonium and Trombone player. I still play, most recently playing with community and college bands as the principal trombone player. Also the last 6 years I was Drum Major at the 101st Airborne Division Band and the 82nd Airborne Division Band. Thanks for asking!
