On episode 1.2 of the show "Green Room with Paul Provenza" Patrice O'Neal explained his philosophy of comedy. In Patrice's words - "Great comedy is when 50% of the audience is laughing, and 50% are horrified." That set could act as exhibit 1. I love him, and miss him.
I enjoyed the first of Patrice's stand up stuff when I first stumbled upon him on TH-cam. Then he got into a more openly misogynistic vibe on those podcasts where he wasn't even going for a laugh because he clearly had no eFFs to give about being a popular stand up by then. He was more about being respected by the hardest of his peer group with no regard for the audience. He started just riffing from a dark place - several dark places sadly. That caused me to move along - which is the correct move. He had the *absolute right* to say whatever he did. I just felt cringe at the attitude that there was genuine dislike for women behind it compared to previous comics like Pryor who made the same observational topics their bread and butter. Pryor was going for the laugh but Patrice was just angry and ranting on the radio.
try patrice's stuff you've never tried like black phillip shit or o.p. and anthony stuff by him. i'm an old-timer subscriber and something in my gut says you seen all this already. not cool bro.

Well I lost the bet, I thought you were going to say "catchers mitt, ladder, and barbecue tongs" to step up in the bedroom. But, you have a point
I'm lost, and afraid to ask for clarification.

Why are you yapping when the person in the video you're reacting to is talking? That's weak af when reacting to comedy.
