    Ahhh i was revisiting the video of you playing In Christ Alone which I used to watch when I was young, and found your channel. I just want to say you were literally one of my first inspirations to start playing the violin :)) I've been playing now for about 7 years. btw this was incredible!!

    Some of the items in there look like they came from your mom's place in Lantzville. Hello Trevor. Man, you've barely changed. It's the funniest thing. I was just today telling my wife about the times me and my siblings (six of us, you may recall) would swing by your place on our way back to Courtenay. And how you'd take us out to Tree Island to slide down the 'rabbit slide'. Then we'd set up the 'battleship' driftwood and throw rocks at it till we'd knocked everything off it. Not forgetting of course that time you made a whole treasure hunt through your house, burnt map and all, ending in a big bag of candy inside the fireplace hearth stones for all of us. Anyway, yeah. Trevor Dick. Wow. Such incredible memories you gave all of us. Some of the fondest of my childhood. Grand to see you doing so well with the violin. I remember you were still studying it when we knew you. So Googled and you popped right up. I trust Nathan is also in top form. He took over for you when you went away to university, and also did a great job of making us kids feel special and have so much fun. Was it you or him the time we played frozen tag and I sprinted through the trees and straight into a chain link fence? I can't remember, but I still have the scar on my chin. I also hope your mother is well, though time being what it is, I guess she must be quite old by now.
    In short, I really wanted to say thank you Trevor for the good times we had thanks to you and your brother going out of your way to make some time for us wee ones. It meant a heck of a lot.

    Great sound, which preset are you using? I have a cantini sonplus. Thank you

    • @TrevorDick
      @TrevorDick  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Ed ... can't remember the preset I was using + I have made many programming changes to the GR-55 pedal presets and then run that through my main pedal rig ... which is also always changing each day in a tapestry of colour and tones ... T

    What pedal produces the effect that you used at the start with the pizzicato?

    • @TrevorDick
      @TrevorDick  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Grant, the GR-55 Synth pedal mixed with delay and reverb in my main pedalboard. T

  • @arye_amsalem
    @arye_amsalem ปีที่แล้ว

    hi trevor! great performance right there! i really enjoyed!
    by the way , what audio interface do you use to take signal from pedal board? do you use any other devices besides the gr 55 and interface?

  • @aggelosmastorakis3321

    You touched my heart Trevor, such a tender and unique interpretation! I'm interested on buying a cantini midi, is it sensitive on dynamics? How does it feel compared to classical?

    • @TrevorDick
      @TrevorDick  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Aggelos! Yes, the Cantini MIDI is sensitive to dynamics ... especially as you mix with analog synthesis and natural violin sound. Actual digital MIDI still has its challenges, but can add a lot as well, when you learn how to use it effectively. T

  • @WendellDecatoria
    @WendellDecatoria 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is so cool!!! What effect were you using to achieve the keyboard like sound that loops from the beginning?

    • @TrevorDick
      @TrevorDick  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thees are built in MIDI bell-like sounds in the guitar synth, Wendell. I'll perhaps get into the guts on this a bit more and post another "how to" video soon. In the mean time, check out this new Full Pedalboard DEMO here: th-cam.com/video/q9OBoYS0l0w/w-d-xo.html

    hi trevor is this better (cantini) than mark wood vipers?

    • @TrevorDick
      @TrevorDick  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Marcel, I wouldn't say it's better ... it's a very different instrument with a different pick-up system (magnetic) so relates to your effects (pedalboard) more like a guitar ... + has the additional features of being able to drive MIDI. An amazing instrument for the price!

    Sir I can hear a bowing noice very loudly when playing fast notes.mine is a very local Chinese electric violin.I was looking for cantini violin or Yamaha.but the same issue here also I can hear from 5.25 to 5.35 seconds so is that all electric violin is the same issue just wondering

    • @TrevorDick
      @TrevorDick  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vinod, thanks for your message. Yes, you do hear a bit of bow noise in the clip, as a result of turning on "overdrive" in that section ... but it is possible to EQ that out if it is bothering you ... not all electric violins have this challenge. My NS electric violin has much less. All the best, and make sure you subscribe 😊.
