He will have stories about John for 100 more years if he were to live. He admits he never knew John until after 1977/78. So I would say that it was in the mid 80’s that John reached out prior to the Paul hit. How the fuck can you have 2 million podcast hours of Gotti stories? It’s sad. I can’t do it anymore.

I’m 46 years old and when Sammy and John were on trial I was in high school a freshman. I remember it being on the news every night. Goodfellas had just come out and I started reading books on the Mob. “Wiseguy” which is the book that “Goodfellas” came from was the first book I read. Then I read Joe Pistone’s(Donnie Brasco) book. Over the last 30+ years I’ve read and collected a small library of books about the Mob. Mostly the 5 families in NYC but I have a few books on the Outfit in Chicago and a few on the Sicilian and Italian Mobs which operate differently than the American Mob. When this whole TH-cam thing started with the old Mobsters like Sammy and Micheal Franseze and John Alite and Gene Borrello(who started it) one thing I noticed is that they are all great storytellers. Especially Sammy and Micheal. I’ve always wondered why we have such a fascination with Outlaws,Mobsters and criminals. Before the Mob movies we loved the old westerners because of the Outlaws. Even the 1%er Outlaw motorcycle clubs like the Hells Angel’s, Mongols, The Outlaws we are fascinated with. But Sammy is an amazing storyteller.

It's frustrating to see someone like Sammy, who clearly has a horrible past, acting like he's some kind of hero while glorifying the mafia lifestyle. This guy should be rotting behind bars for the rest of his life, not getting a platform to spew his twisted narratives. The way he talks, as if he’s some misunderstood figure instead of a criminal, is gross. It makes you wonder about the justice system when someone like him gets to walk free and make a living out of his past crimes, while the real victims are left with nothing but scars.

I don't think its a 'takes one to know one' type of thing. A "bad" person can have the ability to tell if someone is good or not. Maybe even better than most others, since they could know which signs point to a person being fake or whatever else.
Side note: Too bad to see so many negative comments on this video. Sammy might not be recounting each detail 100% accurately, I'm sure he tries to control the narrative a bit (most people do) and also, he's had a long and eventful life and I doubt he could remember each detail clearly, I know I don't and I'm less than half his age. I believe the main points of his stories are fairly accurate and I for one love hearing them. They're super interesting.
And people that just comment "forever a snitch" or whatever.... why? He knows it, he said it multiple times in his videos. Everyone knows what he did. The Mafia isn't what it used to be and will never be again. The government won. If you were in Sammy's shoes and didn't take the deal because you didn't want to be a snitch and would rather spend life in prison... Then your lack of common sense and all around intelligence is staggering.

I read a lot of the comments and have to say this. If it were one of you and someone close to you were trying to throw you under the bus, make you take the rap for whatever, you’d do exactly what Gravano did. I guarantee not one of you have a “doing time” disposition and would “rat” to save your own skin.

    • @fransesco97

The problem with your scenario is that none of us are in the mob and we didn't kill people. Sammy didn't want to take responsibility for his own actions, that's the thing. He didn't flip because Gotti was trying to throw him under the bus or whatever, he did it because he didn't want to face consequences for his own actions and spend life in prison. Stop believing everything Sammy says, he's a narcissistic sociopath who was involved in 19 murders and he's known to lie to make himself look better than he was. And on the tapes Gotti was complaining about Sammy always asking him permission to kill people and then afterwards taking over their businesses, Sammy took it as an insult (because it was the truth) and that was enough for Sammy to say Gotti betrayed him. And Sammy didn't just help convict Gotti, he helped convict 40 other people.

@@fransesco97 just a comment from a person who knows if you were in that position whether you’re in the mob or not and you were a co defendant in a trial facing serious time chances are you’d flip. Becoming Christian isnt a lifestyle, or label to hang at a church you like and listen to a good speaker you get along with. Its accepting the fact Christ is Lord, King of Kings, and savior, saving you from the deserved punishment of your sins that you MUST repent of to become Christian. Then, you live your life with Christ as the ultimate authority in your life, as He is Lord over all in heaven and on earth.
