    Ferplast Bluwave 03, 05, 07, 09 (amazon): geni.us/G4owUK
Only the 09 version was available at the time of uploading this video but hopefully that is temporary.
The Ferplast Bluwave range of aquarium filters seem to be a good alternative to the Juwel internal filters and they work like an integrated sump, holding the water for a decent time between intake and exit.
The 07 took 3.6kg / 7.9 lbs of biogravel making it suitable for a normally stocked tank up to 360 litres / 95 US gal. or a heavily stocked tank of up to 180 litres / 48 US gal.
However, the limited contact area for water in the foam section renders it of limited use for a heavily stocked tank so I'd say stick to a normal stock for this one.
A full cycle is completed by bacteria - the aerobic part of biological filtration which processes ammonia to nitrite and nitrite to nitrate followed by an anaerobic part which processes nitrate into soluble nitrogen which bubbles off to the atmosphere.
Therefore it requires a suitable amount of excellent quality filter media to be able to provide the environment for both aerobic AND anaerobic bacteria - that is what Biohome ultimate does perfectly but even with such good media there are limitations and we recommend the following amounts for different stocking scenarios:
    (1 US Gallon = 3.8 litres)
    (1kg = 2.2 lbs)
Average community tropical aquarium = 1kg per 100 litres
    Average coldwater aquarium = 1kg - 1.5kg per 100 litres
    Predator aquarium = 1.5kg - 2kg per 100 litres
    Large cichlid aquarium = 1.5kg - 2kg per 100 litres
    Malawi / Tanganyikan aquarium = 1.5kg - 2kg per 100 litres
    Marine aquarium = 1.5kg - 2kg per 100 litres
Average mixed fish pond = 1kg per 200 litres
Average koi pond = 1kg per 150 litres
You may be disagreeing with the above figures but remember that they are for a FULL CYCLE not half a job - achieving 0 ammonia and 0 nitrite is quite easy since aerobic bacteria grows freely on any surface but the anaerobic bacteria responsible for COMPLETING the cycle needs more a specialized habitat.
Size a filter properly, set it up sensibly and you will have perfect water - it's that simple....and your filter won't be the dreaded 'Nitrate factory'.....you'll spend less money on treatments too......basically the filter is the foundation of a successful aquarium.
This series of videos is all about trying to squeeze more efficiency out of internal and external aquarium filters which generally have a limited filtering capacity - If you have a filter you'd like me to feature in a video then please contact me on:

Anyone who sends a filter (UK only at present) will have it upgraded and returned to them for free and the only cost you will pay is how much it costs to ship it to me - I'm helping to boost your filter and the resulting videos will hopefully be useful to viewers all over the world so it's a win/win.
The following videos will be useful to anyone interested in learning more about filtration, bacteria and making the conditions for your fish as good as possible:

Yep, I think intake slots all the way up the side and reconfigure the first two compartments to allow the foams to be inserted vertically against the entire side with intake slots.

I love your biorb under gravel filter video.
I have the 60 litres and in process of doing this.
Could I also cut the bubble pipe in middle to give fish more space and irritate the water movement a bit more or would this stop the circulation of the biorb filtering process.
    Thanks kindly Craig

I'm sorry I know this video has nothing to do with the video I wanted to respond to but I was watching your video about the 22 long rifle versus the 17 HMR on the Xbox and I can't comment using the Xbox but is that what everyone really thinks of the US is that we all walk around with full autos because it's next to impossible to get a full auto in the US you have to go through licensing and it can take over a year to get your stamp back and it cost you a lot of money to get the stamp processed in the first place hell you were talking about 75 quid for a silencer being expensive 75 quid is roughly I believe about $83 in the US and you can't even make a homemade suppressor for less than that and if you get caught with an unlicensed homemade suppressor you're looking at at least 10 years in jail and $100,000 fine they don't want us to have suppressors in the US $200 for the tax stamp you have to wait close to a year for the government to approve it and then the cheapest ones that you can buy cost anywhere between five to $700 for a cheap one
