Brava. So many incredibly BORING renditions of this amazing piece. One wonders if they’ve ever seen a cat. Your interpretation is exciting and riveting. I’m learning this now and hope I can do justice to the piece. Thank you for posting this
Well, yes... Beyond surprise, there is amazement as you listen more and more, as I hope you have. And yet beyond that is a depth, humanity, and even mystery that, in my opinion, have never been surpassed. I didn't like Scarlatti at first due to "quirkiness" like this, but he has truly become my favorite composer, with all due respect to Mozart and Bach. Viva felice!
This is the first time I've heard this played on the piano. I think a lot of Scarlatti's sonatas work better on the harpsichord, but this is not one of them.
An extraordinarily fine and spry performance of the Cat Fugue. Thank you!
Very fine.
Beautiful!
Love the accentuation

Scarlatti always surprises me. That theme is so oddball. Is this the one about the cat that walked on his keyboard?
Yes, it's this one. It's called "Cat fugue".
