      the problem was that once a target is spotted in range, the way secondaries work, is that they have to load before they fire. Not sure why they aren't considered loaded by WG, but that's why there was the delay. I think they have pretty much the same shell velocity as the main battery.

    “An utter disaster for the US navy…”
    Karel Doorman on The Ruyter softly weeping on the Javasea seabed…
    And this ship most certainly was not used until the 70’s. She went down in the Java sea. 14 ships have been named after De Ruyter. I get the misunderstanding.
    Couldn’t let it slip.
    Yes I’m a swamp German. Hi guys!

    • @mknote
      @mknote 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No, everything Jingles said regarding this ship was correct. It _was_ laid down in the 30's, it _was_ used until the 70's, and it _was_ named De Ruyter when it launched. It's just a different De Ruyter than the one you're referring to. The Almirante Grau was the former HNLMS De Ruyter (C801), launched in 1944, while you're referring to the HNLMS De Ruyter (without a pennant number) launched in 1935.

      (I quite like the changes to the Grau that distinguish it from the de Ruyter, btw. I think I might like to see it get its heal back-Grau is so very squishy, but otherwise I think WeeGee did a nice job with the gimmick swap. 🙂)

    Now to be fair to the Surrey, using AP as a cruiser against Battleships is a legit strategy, especially as a Heavy Cruiser, as wit good aim you can land 8K plus salvos every few seconds (the Des Moines is a beast at doing this) . But he should have been aiming for the super structure though as even with improved ricochet angles, it would be going through the bow or hull armour of an angled Battleship.

    smart of the bama to start the cap, smart of his team to get the resets, but should have done it by staying a bit closer to the islands and limiting the number of players shooting at them. dumb of the bama to pull out so far away from the islands into open water where he could be seen and shot from range and get reset, he also needed to stay hidden bu the islands. this was just lucky at the end the mass missed him, but also bad on the enemy that they didn't pay attention to the map and start going back for the reset sooner.

    27th February 1942 could also possibly be his birthday, however unlikely there are many older players in the game.

    Today's battle was a treat, a two for one, with co-starring antagonists.
    GG to our heroes.
    If the blessings of an agnostic are worth anything, Eddie can have all of mine. My blessings didn't work for my father who passed away last January from liver cancer but my father also spent decades living in Las Vegas and witnessed hundreds of atomic bomb tests. He even saw one from about 6 miles/10 km as a photographer working for the Las Vegas Review Journal , the main local newspaper.
    I'm honestly surprised my father's cancer didn't happen a long time ago. I still wish my blessings had been more effective and probably will for the rest of my life.
    Eddie, there are still things to check off your bucket list, so get cracking. No excuses now. Be strong, brother.
    Treats and scritches for the furbabies.
