I know I'm late to this, but i think you should pick up some players from teams also owned by the same ownership group. -Genoa in Italy -Standard Liege in Belgium -Hertha Berlin in Germany -Sevilla in Spain They own more clubs but I'm not sure if they're in this game

I'd suggest Jacob Greaves from Hull City, not highly rated but can improve quickly and he's a very balanced defender overall
He could provide good depth in defence
