    Great choices and one more recommendation - the Featherbed Railroad. This unique bed & breakfast is built of vintage railroad cabooses and serves a full breakfast to boot. That's an incredible lakeside resort that is absolutely unique and special.
    On Fridays in summer there are outdoor concerts in the park in Lakeport.
    And the biggest thing, rent a boat and spend some time actually ON Clear Lake. It's so big and just such a natural gem that it's worth visiting Disney's Boat Rentals and getting a boat to spend some time on the lake.

    Another great outdoor spot to visit is Six Sigma Winery in Lower Lake. They have a beautiful, rustic tasting room location under ancient oaks and miles of trails to hike or mountain bike. Each year, they host the Norcal high school mountain bike races in the spring which are great fun to watch. They also have a Pinzgauer tour (look it up) to their widely spread vineyards on their 4000+ acre property. You can camp on the property, too!

    Something to consider are those stand up paddle boards. I was in Tahoe recently at Meeks Bay and a couple next to us were enjoying the water with two stand up paddle boards. I was very surprised to find them parked nest to us in a Prius and both of those boards deflated and went into two bags in that car. They came from San Diego and still had plenty of room. You can easy pack one or two with your adventures.

    I lived in Sacramento for a while and never visited Lake Country. We visited wine country, which was lots of fun, tasting wine, and the best part was eating delicious snacks with the wine. I loved that Sacramento was close to South Lake Tahoe, San Francisco and lots of beautiful and interesting areas. Lake Country is a very beautiful area and I want to visit California again someday to visit my favorite places that I've visited and places I haven't seen. I've seen quite a bit of California, but I haven't even seen Yosemite Nat'l Park. We saw Mount Shasta, and at a local restaurant near there I ordered the weirdest meatloaf I have ever seen and tasted. I think I sent it back and ordered something else, but can't remember. My favorite states are Hawaii and California. In March 2007 I visited Oahu Hawaii, so beautiful and I hiked up to the peak of Diamond Head I reside in Texas and have most of my life. When I lived in Sacramento, I sure was missing my favorite foods that they don't have in Sacramento. The Mexican food wasn't near as good, well it's Tex-Mex in Texas at most restaurants, not true Mexican food, but Tex-Mex is delicious. There are some authentic Mexican food places in Texas. Thanks for sharing. Still watching this video, while I type. Thank you for sharing.

    Did justice to this under covered part of north-central California. Great places to sip a bottle of local wine watching a fantastic sunset over the lake. Always drink responsibly. I make sure I have a place to sleep secured before popping a cork.
    There are some nice RV parks and affordable motels at the southeast part of the lake. Convenient that's where the vineyards are too.
    Remember, this is California's biggest (Tahoe is in two states) *natural* lake. Not formed by a dam as most are. Fun to imagine native Americans and the first white explorers living around it.

      We are thinking about moving there after being priced out of Napa, losing our home in the wildfires. A local Realtor told us not to go to Clear Lake, Lucerne, Niece, but to stay on the Kelseyville, Lakeport side. Would you have any idea why ? Perhaps being 70 is better on the west side ? Or less fire danger ? Sure would appreciate a local input from a non Realtor. Thank you in advance.

    • @micahgruenwald9321
      @micahgruenwald9321 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ibberman Most of the City of Clearlake is extremely impoverished, with unimproved roads and crime. Nice and Lucerne are a completely different story, super tiny, isolated, and expensive. If you're priced out of Napa, you probably won't find a place here. Fire danger is the same as these places as anywhere else in the county, the real spot to watch out for that is Cobb. Kelseyville and Lakeport are just generally wealthier and have more to do. But Middletown and Lower Lake are nice too!

If he got some comps or made some money for providing this content, more power to him. He deserves it and he's certainly paid his dues. If you're such a purist you can't enjoy content unless it's by hobbyist doing it for free, you have millions of other choices. Take your negativity somewhere else.
