Regarding the buffeting: keeping the vent open reduces it and there are the Windsplitter screens from p&a in different heights. I put one on my 2014 Streetglide which is 1 inch higher than the standard screen and it removed the buffeting completely.
Funny story! My dad actually just got a 2018 Street Glide and he loves it! He got it literally 3 days before the 2019's got brought into the shop. He took it to get the pipes changed out and he was watching them pull in the exact same bike you're riding in the video block (well not the exact same, just same general stuff, color, tear etc)
Loving the matte paint and blacked out look. This is how Harley needs to so everything going forward to get us young guys on a Harley. Never considered a bagger till I saw this video.
My dad actually has the 2017 Harley Davidson Street Glide Special 107 and he said the difference in the feeling compared to the 114 is crazy. I can also see the changes Harley’s done to the 2019 model.
The helmet buffeting was a definite issue for me on the Street Glide and the Road King with the windshield. I didn't have a buffeting issue on the Road Glide. As far as handling, my 2017 Road Glide handles better in the corners than my 2015 Fat Bob. Good on you getting this review up quick. This one may be the one that takes you over 100K subscribers!
It was.....FUCKIN' WEIRD seeing you on a bagger . Especially after, seeing you on the Low Rider S, Sportsters, & Groms . But, it was a kick ass review, & hope you do ones on the Road Glide (CVO), & Road King . Keep up the great work you're doing here . You definitely do a bad ass job ! 🤘🏻😎
glad its available for you huppies, but it's over the top for me, I still come from the school of why would anyone want a radio on a bike.... I want to hear the wind, and the birds when I stop and take in the world as I ride. if I want the radio, GPS, entertainment center I'll get in my truck, or sit on my couch at home.
BaggerBro The people who actually care about the most comfortable riding experience don’t. It is a fact that cruisers cause lower back problems because of the retarded seating position. The American motorcycle association published a massive article about how the slouch in your back when riding a cruiser leads to misaligned disks and excessive straining of the muscles.
What's the controlled groups age? Not many 50~60 old gentlemans on a ducati you know. and whats the test environment? people who slouch in bike most like do so in everyday life. slouching not good for anybody in any seat. Just asking. these 'researchs' used as propaganda as much as an actual medical purpose.
I love street glides. I would love to have one but they’re so expensive. I’d probably buy the Japanese competition since they aren’t to far off from my Dyna in price. They’re actually pretty close in weight too which is crazy. But I can’t picture myself using a bagger the way I do my Dyna. I like being able to fit in tight spaces and maneuver around cars at slow speeds without the bike feeling heavy. I rode the 107 road glide and couldn’t believe how big it looked and felt. I didn’t feel comfortable till the end of the ride. Then I had to back it up a slight upgrade and really noticed how tall and heavy it was as person at 5’7” with short legs
I hear you, it is odd that the street glide is the only bike that doesn't have an led headlight from the factory. All the softails, roadglides, and limiteds do.
Really.love your videos man!! Nice test ride and thanks for your input. One day I'd like to get a Road Glide but like u I love the look of the cvo line. Keep up the great work and be safe :)
You need to test ride a road glide blockhead! Fixed fairing handles better than anything else. Once you spend some time on a road glide there is nothing else.
A-Aron, yessir agreed. I just think they are missing out. I road a 03 1200 custom for a couple years, in 2006 bought 06 softail standard and in 12 bought my road glide. Have a handful of friends that converted from Vrod, dynas, and street glides since then.
Im all about comfort and character in cars, couches and this bike it has the character and the comfort if im gonna purchase a bike someday im buying this one
Hey we upgraded our software and if you spent 28 grand on a bike, put 4 k into the motor so it can run like it should have. Then paid 500 buck for a jacket. As well as crazy accessories prices, and now you want the correct format on your infotainment, screw you trade it in. Sweet business model. For the life of me I dont know how a company like this could be on the decline domestically.
In 2017 i was in the market for a bagger, i looked at the Harley Street Glide and the Indian Chieftain along with the Road Glide and the Victory Cross Country. Never really been a fan of Harley but they make a good looking bagger, i have several Indian Chief's now (1948, 2003, 2010 & 2014) so my 1st choice was to lean towards the Chieftain but i didn't like how it felt, the fairing felt so close to me and the Road Glide i just didn't like so it was between the Street Glide and the Cross Country and the dealer sensed i was leaning to the SGS and showed me another bike where there was 1 left, it was a 2016 Victory Magnum and that was it, i fell in love with the look and ride along wth price, it was many thousand less than the Street Glide. I wa very familiar with the Victory as i also have a 2007 Victory Jackpot Ness edition. The only thing the Magnum didn't have which Harley did was the Infotainment system (GPS), i figured who cares, i have an iPhone that i can use as a GPS if i need it. I just couldn't bring myself to pay those over inflated Harley prices when i can get a better bike in many ways for far less.
I know others have complained that competing brands have a much higher resolution screen. Has HD improved the display as well? You should ride the new Yamaha Eluder! 113C.I. V-twin. Fantastic smooth power and unbelievable handling. Great display and infotainment center. I've ridden the Harleys, and although improved over previous models, I think the Yamaha is better. Really enjoyed the test ride! I'd like to see more. Any kind, any style of bike!
But still, with stock exhaust, it sounds very decent. In my country, they are very harsh on modded exhausts. You'll be fined before you know it. I do really like the Streetglide though. I would have picked a different colour though. Nice video Blockhead! Keep it up.
new sub here, been watching your videos non stop and you're really inspiring me to finally look into buying a bike and starting to ride! also, hope you get to 100k soon, so close !!!
I'm on the fence between a new Harley-Davidson and Indian. I really love the new Entertainment System I was just wondering how much of the tariffs increased the price of these bikes.
Do you think that the infotainment system is worth it to get a street glide over a road king special? Or do you think a smart phone and a Bluetooth helmet will do all the same stuff? I like the blacked out look best but the street glide special is more than I want to lay out upfront.
In the UK you’d have to pay security to keep an eye on your bike every time you parked up. Otherwise it’d be in a shipping container before you’d finished your coffee. One of the reasons I will not buy another Harley.
Hey Blockhead! I’m a 15 year old guy that is just recently getting into motorcycles! Every time you do a motovlog I mimic your movements and shifts just to get used to it. Any tips for a fresh first time rider? I’m SUPER new, I still need to learn what type and model of motorcycle I want.
I test ride it and the same problem with the buffering on my helmet. Didn’t like it riding at freeway speed. What you think suspension ? I have a FatBoy 2016 and i am planning to get a Street Glide and think my FatBoy is softer.
Thanks you for a great review! You know what made it for me? You let Aaron - the expert - guide you/us through the features. Also, THANK YOU for describing Aaron's stature when he threw a leg over the seat. I'm 5'9", and seeing him flat-footed and comfortable on the bike is a huge help. Good on ya!

Great review (again) , I own a FXDLS as well and was thinking of trading it for a 114 Street Glide, I’d like to hear your opinion (not about the look, but mostly about the riding). Thank you 🙏
Good video. Very disappointing year. A bigger screen on touring bikes. A few different colors, and one new bike that doesn't know what it wants to be and is WAY overpriced. Funny how even the sales guy here says how bad the old screens and gps were. You think that was the same line when they were trying to sell them last year?
recub13 Back when I bought mine, that system was going to change my life forever.....or until a better one comes out and changes my life forever, until the next. Start to feel stupid after a couple of Harley Davidson upgrades. (Like my Snap On tools)
Thats where I bought all of my Harleys! Not sure when i’ll feel the need to drop $28,000 again, maybe someday. Felt stupid paying that much...now they took off the chrome and raised the prices? Rofl
Shoutout to Aye-Aye-Ron for dropping all the knowledge! You all be sure to go follow him, and tell em Blockhead sent ya!

Aaron looks like pewdiepie.
I use to be a sportbike guy then i got fat af! Bought a road king, now I'm fat and happy!
I bought a new 19 Street Glide Standard last year and love it!! Best investment I ever made. 👍👍
Regarding the buffeting: keeping the vent open reduces it and there are the Windsplitter screens from p&a in different heights. I put one on my 2014 Streetglide which is 1 inch higher than the standard screen and it removed the buffeting completely.

One of (if not, the first) 2019 ride/reviews !! Good on you, Block !! You should get a ton of views on this. Looking forward to more. Thanks.
I think the Street Glide has one of the lowest seats (street to seat) measurements. LOVE this bike
Love the Bike but can't handle the inflated MSRP!
I bought my first motorcycle in 2004 and back then I liked the more bare bones cruisers but my last motorcycle and my current one have been a bagger.
Bought a new m8 road king 19k otd simple low tech, I couldn't be happier. If I want music or GPS I use my phone and earbuds. Saved a ton...
If you ope the top vent it get rid of the wind buffering at high speed. It equalizes the pressure on each side of the fairing and stops the buffering.
I can’t wait to see a test ride of the fxdr!! It’s great to see the test ride vids really helping me decide what bike I want to go towards.
I love these test rides on these awesome bikes. Watching you ride them is the closest that most of us will ever get to throwing a leg over one. Thanks
Look at you Block! Riding a bagger! Im so proud of u! 😢
Lol.....that is funny stuff
lol, who'd have thought
Just took delivery of the same bike. Here in new Mexico. Love the bike every day on it is a new adventure and the power is insane.
The street glide in the scorched orange/black denim paint has my eye.
open the vent on the fairing and it will get all the wind off of your head
I'll try that next time!
Should've opened the vent on the fairing Blockhead . It helps with, the buffeting .
I'll try that out next time!
The vent is designed to direct the wind over your head.
Still have my 05 Roadking runs strong 17,000 mi never had any problems I do change the oil 4 times a year and go over everything
glad its available for you huppies, but it's over the top for me, I still come from the school of why would anyone want a radio on a bike.... Yep you can see who’s calling with your phone connected. But that’s all. The SGS isn’t set up for any comms... gotta buy a WHIM or a wire harness.
Its a matter of time, everyone ends up on a bagger.....
BaggerBro

Word up friend.
You’ll end up on a road glide my man, it’s the best Harley ever.
the buffeting is coming from around the tank. Just get some fork wind deflectors and it will be much better

Nice bike and a great review. I can't believe at the price why they don't include the Daymaker headlight standard.
I hear you, it is odd that the street glide is the only bike that doesn't have an led headlight from the factory. All the softails, roadglides, and limiteds do.
I like the OHD commercial at the beginning. Very well done! Can not wait to visit the place. Who knows maybe run into the Block!!

No nothing better than a good Street Glide
Have you ridden a road glide?
@@joshnairn8351 I have a road glide and couldn't agree more, but everyone likes something different

Looks like we're doing a video tomorrow for the Road Glide @Aaron? lol
It’s not wind from the shield causing the buffeting, it’s air coming from below. How is it for 27,000$ ?
The wind is the enemy of that motorcycle.
Im all about comfort and character in cars, couches and this bike it has the character and the comfort if im gonna purchase a bike someday im buying this one
I'm in love with this bike lol
love the color! Shit Harley is missing out a ton of $$ of not being able to upgrade the GTS stereo!
I'm waiting until they fix the fluid transfer issue.

I wonder what the touchscreen functionality is like with a gloved hand
which is how it would be most of the time on a motorcycle

That's the exact bike I want. Same color everything
I'm on the fence between a new Harley-Davidson and Indian. I really love the new Entertainment System I was just wondering how much of the tariffs increased the price of these bikes.
My dad and I literally just left Orlando Harley and paid for this same exact bike.
Does the Boombox GTS come equipped with Bluetooth headset capability? Or are we still supposed to pay for the WHIM?
gghostrrider still need to add the whim unless you get the CVO
That's a beast of a bike at damn near 800 lbs
You would want a slightly taller windshield. Does that windshield have a recurve at the top?
Do you think that the infotainment system is worth it to get a street glide over a road king special? Or do you think a smart phone and a Bluetooth helmet will do all the same stuff? I like the blacked out look best but the street glide special is more than I want to lay out upfront.
Man these bikes are fast. You twist the throttle and you're in Mexico in seconds.
Those are absolute masterpieces
The buffeting sucks, you would have to get a taller windshield with your hight. It's much better then
Drone footage was awesome Blockhead.
Hello
How bad was the turbulence around the head?
I've heard that street glide and full face helmet = unbearable turbulence
Going back to a Road King soon my dyna fun but I have missed my RK something awful for distance rides my garage big enough for Two 😁
I agree with Baggerbro... at the end of the road you will find yourself in a bagger
In the UK you’d have to pay security to keep an eye on your bike every time you parked up. Otherwise it’d be in a shipping container before you’d finished your coffee.

That's a real handsome bike. Thanks for the review man. I'd totally be into one but I just got a 2018 Sport Glide. A bagger is the logical next bike.
For long distances would you choose a bmw gs1250 or this bike?
Good review thanks, I gotta have one, good by old Dyna hello bagger, glad I waited for the 2019.
Not sure how I feel about the Matte red but it still looks great.
I take that back, once in the sun it looks really good.
I know this is kinda old, but would you recommend it for a first time Rider?
Just asking a simple question , for nimble for the city filtering , do you prefer RG or SG? Thankss :))
The GT-S is available for the 2014-2018 now! 😎
I love everything about this except the fairing lol. Are you gonna do a road King review/ride? I'm a die hard windshield over fairing guy

Nice review and nice bike, I'm just not into the denim/black look.
Do you think a 5'5" tall guy have any issues sitting on it at stop light?
So i know your a HD person but have you tried the Chieftain? If so how do you compare the two. I am personally leaning toward the Chieftain myself.
Really enjoy watching your videos blockhead. Came across your channel a little while ago and had to sub after watching like 2 or 3 vids.
Thanks Matthew!
Dude do a review on the road glide. Even though its pretty much the same as this. Im going in tomorrow to orlando Harley to dream a little bit.
Hello, just have a quick question. Been riding maybe a few months on my buddies sportster. I personally just have a grom. And I want to get my first real bike. I know I want it to be a Harley as I love the looks and I’m more about comfort and riding around sight seeing then my need for speed. People in my unit that ride give me different answers as in if I go and get one to small I’ll get board and end up spending more money. But the people tell me to start off small. Also I was looking into the street bob just cause of price. But I love the. Street glide. Btw I’m 5’6 166 lbs and 25 years old. If you can help any inputs will be appreciated.
Does the batwing keep wind out of your face?
Sweet ride. Might have to trade my ride in on one.
Needs a taller windshield imo
Yooo blockhead so you thinking abut getting a bagger in the near future ? Love the video bro as always !
Not considering getting one in the near future. Rides nice, but not my style... yet anyways, haha. Glad you enjoyed the vid!
