Okay guys, no better place than here to ask this one.
What would you recommend to me when it comes to buying something that is similiar to the Iron 883? I thought about buying a Honda Shadow and then having it customized. Is there even a cheaper alternative to the Iron 883? I really want that outlawish mean look and a potential to customize my bike.

I'm a fan of the Honda Shadow Phantom. Very reliable bike. Super easy to ride, good gas mileage, low maintenance. A couple of aftermarket pipe options, along with a stage one intake. There seem to be quiet a few low mileage, used ones out there in the $3500-4500 price range. I have no experience with the Bolt, but hear good things about them also. Good luck in your search.
Love the Bike but can't handle the inflated MSRP!

That's not fair when you aren't looking at it with your own eyes. I'm don't know what camera he's using, but I assume it's a GoPro and I don't think there's any white balance for that cam and I don't know if Blockhead did any colour correction.

4-n Oh I freaking love it. But it’s a pain to clean. Gotta use special products. I have the Black Denim and I’m about to paint it gloss. I had an option to get the gloss but chose the denim for the look. It hides dirt better and looks fantastic from a distance of 10 ft or more, but it’s a pain to clean.

Good video. Very disappointing year. A bigger screen on touring bikes. A few different colors, and one new bike that doesn't know what it wants to be and is WAY overpriced. Funny how even the sales guy here says how bad the old screens and gps were. You think that was the same line when they were trying to sell them last year?

glad its available for you huppies, but it's over the top for me, I still come from the school of why would anyone want a radio on a bike.... I want to hear the wind, and the birds when I stop and take in the world as I ride. if I want the radio, GPS, entertainment center I'll get in my truck, or sit on my couch at home.

I hear you, it is odd that the street glide is the only bike that doesn't have an led headlight from the factory. All the softails, roadglides, and limiteds do.

Should've opened the vent on the fairing Blockhead . It helps with, the buffeting .

I bought my first motorcycle in 2004 and back then I liked the more bare bones cruisers but my last motorcycle and my current one have been a bagger.

street glide > road glide
You need to test ride a road glide blockhead! Fixed fairing handles better than anything else. Once you spend some time on a road glide there is nothing else.

A-Aron, yessir agreed. I just think they are missing out. I road a 03 1200 custom for a couple years, in 2006 bought 06 softail standard and in 12 bought my road glide. Have a handful of friends that converted from Vrod, dynas, and street glides since then.

Regarding the buffeting: keeping the vent open reduces it and there are the Windsplitter screens from p&a in different heights. I put one on my 2014 Streetglide which is 1 inch higher than the standard screen and it removed the buffeting completely.
Does the Boombox GTS come equipped with Bluetooth headset capability? Or are we still supposed to pay for the WHIM?

This is how Harley needs to so everything going forward to get us young guys on a Harley. Never considered a bagger till I saw this video.
The helmet buffeting was a definite issue for me on the Street Glide and the Road King with the windshield. I didn't have a buffeting issue on the Road Glide. As far as handling, my 2017 Road Glide handles better in the corners than my 2015 Fat Bob.

But still, with stock exhaust, it sounds very decent. In my country, they are very harsh on modded exhausts. You'll be fined before you know it. I do really like the Streetglide though. I would have picked a different colour though. Nice video Blockhead! Keep it up.
It's a Street Glide Special not a Street Glide, unless there is a 114 option not being shown on the HD website. Personally I won't be buying a Harley until they fix their pricing. I would buy a Harley for well over $20k if it was worth it, but none of them are made of anything that average materials and components. There are plenty of sub $15k motorcycles with Showa and Brembo components that produce a better than average amount of torque and horse power for their displacement. A 114ci engine is 1.868 liters. It should produce more HP than 82 and if they designed their engines to make torque at the cost of horsepower they should produce much more torque than 122ft lbs. BMW's decades old 1,649cc engine from their K1600 produces 129ft lbs of torque while also producing 160hp. And that motorcycle while it has the same price as the special has a lot more standard equipment including heated seats and grips among a hold of other things and it weights 100lbs less than the Harley. Harley could and should do better.
Guess you'll never have a harley then. For 30 years the price has increased $600-$1200 depending on model for mostly same bike other than new colors.
Heritage classic prime example. Major changes last 2 years but for 20 years its basically looked identical other than paint with $600 price increase every year
Bike in the video photo looks like a knockoff of a 2016 Victory Magnum....but the Magnum looks better. $30k for this thing....and how many thousands more to get it to REALLY move? Or just shell out $40k for the CVO right off the bat. Why is Harley dying....? Because given other options out there .....this is NOT REMOTELY worth $30k

Hey we upgraded our software and if you spent 28 grand on a bike, put 4 k into the motor so it can run like it should have. Then paid 500 buck for a jacket. As well as crazy accessories prices, and now you want the correct format on your infotainment, screw you trade it in. Sweet business model. For the life of me I dont know how a company like this could be on the decline domestically.
I really like Harley, but that's a lot of freakn money for a motorcycle. The average working man would go broke trying to buy this thing. Besides, what are you getting with this "new" model other than the iPad-like thing, new paint scheme and enough cubic inches to catch up with the rest?
I think I pooped a little when that Mexican music came on. Startled the Hell out of me. LOL My biggest gripe is Harley didn't put these quick remove bolts on my Heritage. I have to break out the socket to remove them. Only thing about this bike I would have to remove is the heel shifter. I like to move my feet around on the floorboards and that locks your feet in one place.
Harley needs to make the speed display on the nav screen.

In the UK you’d have to pay security to keep an eye on your bike every time you parked up. Otherwise it’d be in a shipping container before you’d finished your coffee.

Do you think that the infotainment system is worth it to get a street glide over a road king special? Or do you think a smart phone and a Bluetooth helmet will do all the same stuff? I like the blacked out look best but the street glide special is more than I want to lay out upfront.

This is why harley's don't keep their value anymore I been buying harleys for 15 years now and every year or so they change engines and other things so when people try to sale or trade their their 2 year old bike don't get half of the price they paid for it's ridiculous. Now I know why harley's dealer are losing customers I love my Harley that I bought in 2017 for $30,000 but it's going to be my last brand new one next bike it's going to be used one
That could be the stupidest post I've ever read. Everyone loves to brag about how much their motorcycle is worth used. If you are buying a HD for the money you think you'll get in two years you are buying the wrong motorcycle. No one buys anything expecting to get more money out of it in a couple of years. HD sells around 200k motorcycles a year in the US. Many of those people just buy a Harley to look cool and pose and you'll see tons of those motorcycles on the used market in 5 to 10 years with less than 5000 miles at an outrageous price.
Whats amazing is that Harleys still depreciate less than other brands. Try buying a Honda/Kawasaki/Victory/Indian for the same money that’s worth less than half in a few years...trying to prove you’re not a Harley rider, or “poser,” as knuckle heads say, costs even more money.

There are three times as many Harley's on the market for sale than any other bike but people want way too much for them. I hate black, you can't see any paint problems or anything else, I just got an older BMW bike and didn't even see a front compartment at the front of the tank because the damn bike is mainly black, almost any other color is OK.

38k is a lot for a Harley Davidson someone i know got one with only 35 k and leaked oil bad and needed a full overhaul at 71k now for a wing I know 4 people with over 500000 miles and still runs good and only uses vary little oil .
Everyone on the internet knows someone that supports whatever they want to make up at the moment.
Crazy price .......I'd rather spend 1\2 that on an older glide , even 8 year old cvo. Really needs V&A pipes...........If you wish for a quiet smooth ride then buy a Wing .
In 2017 i was in the market for a bagger, i looked at the Harley Street Glide and the Indian Chieftain along with the Road Glide and the Victory Cross Country. Never really been a fan of Harley but they make a good looking bagger, i have several Indian Chief's now (1948, 2003, 2010 & 2014) so my 1st choice was to lean towards the Chieftain but i didn't like how it felt, the fairing felt so close to me and the Road Glide i just didn't like so it was between the Street Glide and the Cross Country and the dealer sensed i was leaning to the SGS and showed me another bike where there was 1 left, it was a 2016 Victory Magnum and that was it, i fell in love with the look and ride along wth price, it was many thousand less than the Street Glide. I wa very familiar with the Victory as i also have a 2007 Victory Jackpot Ness edition. The only thing the Magnum didn't have which Harley did was the Infotainment system (GPS), i figured who cares, i have an iPhone that i can use as a GPS if i need it. I just couldn't bring myself to pay those over inflated Harley prices when i can get a better bike in many ways for far less.
Hey Blockhead! I’m a 15 year old guy that is just recently getting into motorcycles! Every time you do a motovlog I mimic your movements and shifts just to get used to it. Any tips for a fresh first time rider? I’m SUPER new, I still need to learn what type and model of motorcycle I want.
Hello, just have a quick question. Been riding maybe a few months on my buddies sportster. I personally just have a grom. And I want to get my first real bike. I know I want it to be a Harley as I love the looks and I’m more about comfort and riding around sight seeing then my need for speed. I’m currently stationed at fort hood so I’ll be using the bike for commute but basically my question is, if I wanted to get a street glide for my first is it a bad idea. People in my unit that ride give me different answers as in if I go and get one to small I’ll get board and end up spending more money. But the people tell me to start off small. Also I was looking into the street bob just cause of price. But I love the. Street glide. Btw I’m 5’6 166 lbs and 25 years old. If you can help any inputs will be appreciated.

Funny story! My dad actually just got a 2018 Street Glide and he loves it! He got it literally 3 days before the 2019's got brought into the shop. He took it to get the pipes changed out and he was watching them pull in the exact same bike you're riding in the video block (well not the exact same, just same general stuff, color, tear etc)

I would never pay Harley’s ridiculous pricing for their “special” bikes... bad enough for what they charge for the standard bikes.
I bought a new 2011 HD SG (103ci) and I guess I’ll be keeping that forever. Doesn’t make sense for me to trade in for this high tech BS (distractions from the wind and road which is why we’re riding, right?). I can’t stand the infotainment center. That’s for yuppies who ride in their loafers. They should offer an ol’school version which would lower the price tag without all that high tech crap.

You should ride the new Yamaha Eluder! 113C.I. V-twin. Fantastic smooth power and unbelievable handling. Great display and infotainment center. I've ridden the Harleys, and although improved over previous models, I think the Yamaha is better.
Really enjoyed the test ride! I'd like to see more. Any kind, any style of bike!

So i know your a HD person but have you tried the Chieftain? If so how do you compare the two. I am personally leaning toward the Chieftain myself.

My dad actually has the 2017 Harley Davidson Street Glide Special 107 and he said the difference in the feeling compared to the 114 is crazy. I can also see the changes Harley’s done to the 2019 model.
I love street glides. I would love to have one but they’re so expensive. I’d probably buy the Japanese competition since they aren’t to far off from my Dyna in price. They’re actually pretty close in weight too which is crazy. But I can’t picture myself using a bagger the way I do my Dyna. I like being able to fit in tight spaces and maneuver around cars at slow speeds without the bike feeling heavy. I rode the 107 road glide and couldn’t believe how big it looked and felt. I didn’t feel comfortable till the end of the ride. Then I had to back it up a slight upgrade and really noticed how tall and heavy it was as person at 5’7” with short legs
Can't upgrade the infotainment system? Because Harley people do so well with being told what they can't do. $100 says there is an aftermarket kit or in depth yt video on retrofitting older bikes within 6 months.
Yep you can see who’s calling with your phone connected. But that’s all. The SGS isn’t set up for any comms... gotta buy a WHIM or a wire harness.
I'm on the fence between a new Harley-Davidson and Indian. I really love the new Entertainment System I was just wondering how much of the tariffs increased the price of these bikes.
