You can glitch to the whale sharks, there is a video on how to do it on TH-cam and you can also kill smaller ones in Open Ocean East without glitching

Jaws is/are fictional Great Whites of unnatural size. That's like saying the Anaconda in Anaconda isn't an Anaconda because it's too big. Animal monster movies aren't generally too interested in realistic depictions of extant species. For example, the colossal squid here is also comically oversized compared to its real basis.
