For $10 its a hell of a lot better than I was expecting. Its so far beyond Playmates TMNT in articulation and movement. Hell, its better than most of Jakks Sonic and Mario figures. Beat em ups aren't fighting games, so I don't think I'd ever pose him with Street Fighters either. I really just want more classic Sega dudes at this scale and price point. Give me Adam and Blaze, give me BD Joe, give me all the Virtua Fighters.
i bought this one and altered beast today at walmart !!!, is a decent action figure for the price, the articulation points are amazing, it looks so retro to me. i have the games as well so is a good piece of collection in my opinion.
Again I wonder what the point of this is. Only adult collectors care about streets of rage and I’m sure most adult collectors won’t want this cheap out of scale figure. Jakks business model makes more sense with sonic and Mario but not with older games that don’t have younger fans.
@@SuperSpindasher1991 that wasn’t my point. What I’m saying is only adult collectors will care about streets of rage so why make a cheap figure that doesn’t scale with other figures like Jada toys?
@@dahhmlife there’s always gonna be outliers to anything. Point is if Jakks is relying on kids to buy these figures they will fail because kids don’t care about streets of rage. Adults are clearly 99% of the fanbase so they should cater to them not the 10 kids that actually know about streets of rage.
Kids also don't have money either so there's that too. Personally I think it's just a way to make Sega anything since others have had the chance to make and haven't.
Waiting for this to hit UK stores. They are definitely aiming for the BST Axn price range. Axel does remind me of thr Early Days of BST with their Napoleon Dynamite figure in terms of articulation and sculpting. As many people have said if its 10 bucks then I think you are getting a lot of articulation for you money. Its decently sculpted at that price range as well. Enjoyed the review very much, I hope it lands in the UK at some point!
They weren’t, and I agree that that’s the most disappointing aspect of these new figures, they’re a little small. But at least Jakks is trying and I’ll give them that.
Just got that figure today. And I think it's pretty good .. I hated the scale. When I saw pictures of the figures I thought the would be 6 inch so this was disappointing 😢. But other than that for the price. It's amazing. I do like the articulation. Specially the torso. Usually this kind of figures don't have it. You can get. Axel on. Many cool poses
Just happened to see this at Wal Mart tonight. If I wasn't so broke I would grab this bad billy up. Maybe after my next payday if he's still there I'll go pick it up. I'd really rather have a Blaze figure but I was shocked to see any kind of Sega figure at all.
I hate to be negative, but I think this this won't sell well, which will probably make Jakks scrap any potential new waves of Sega characters. Which sucks because I would love a figure of NiGHTS. Beat (who is actually rumored) and Gum from Jet Set Radio would be cool, too.
@@Bland_cerealI can see Joker getting made but the other teammates are more up in the air if Jakks are going for the slow build approach with their teams.
@@billymerritt420 Yep, I saw that a while ago. Even worse lineup imo, though I think metal virus Sonic is part of it? If so, maybe that'll help it get a third wave. I just don't get why they're not doing NiGHTS or JSR? I mean, come on!
@@megadrive1996 I'm fully expecting JSR too. I figured these would fall in line with the new Sega games but only one of six characters reflect that so far so I'm completely wrong probably. No real rhyme or reason so far.
Yeah, i like it and it reminds me of like the old Spider-Man 3 figures (5" and super posable) which is still wild these are about the same size and just as articulated and around the same price despite nearly a 20 year difference. However i wish they'd had made Axel (and the Wolf) a full 6" figures, or had made just Axel 3.75" so he'd scale with more stuff
I would buy it if i saw at walmart. The other two in this wave are very dull imo. Wouldve liked if they came with a tiny console as an accessory, like throw a little more nostalgia in it
id like an axel but its too small for me and the storm prices in oz bucks ate crazy high, so its nothing once again. shame as its half decent. jakks usually make better stuff.
How much was this? Was this $10? Then I got what I paid for. I never expected this to match those 6inch lines cause, jakks to my knowledge has never made stuff in 6inch before that wasn't a big character like dk, and Bowser and even those had their issues. Otherwise that jakks Pacific botw link,Zelda, and Samus would be way taller. It's just nice to have Sega anything in my collection cause, storm had the chance to deliver and failed to do so. I just hope it'll lead to other obscure characters getting made in the near future.
Their Apex Legends line is 1/12. It’s the only 6” line they have currently. They used to do a lot of 6” figures with their other toy brands like wrestling, dragon ball z, World of Warcraft, ect. Not sure what happened tbh.
Wow, butterfly joints on Jakks Pacific figures? They are moving up. It's a bummer the articulation doesn't function better. Th lack of paint's not great. I'm also not a fan of the 5 inch scale. That aside I do like beat'em ups. Since the price is low, I will pick this up for some brawler representation in my collection.
For 10 dollars this does everything you need it too lol plus some. If it was 20 I could see the disappointment. If you’re taking photos of this it’s going to do just fine with perspective . I actually am like wow best Axn gets away with selling this same exact type of figure for 15 bucks more lol. The the more of the cast that comes out the cooler it wil solid 10 dollar figure .
It’s crazy how this is not that far off from Jakks normal offerings in terms of quality and engineering and yet people still complain. I’ll say it, I think the Mario and Sonic figures suck yet so many people love them. They could do so much more in terms of articulation yet they don’t. But they have been trying; The Link figure doesn’t have much more movement than this guy, and everyone loved him. This guy doesn’t seem great but for the money he seems perfectly fine. No he’s not stellar but he’s also barely 15 dollars so I think it balances out.
Jakks really really needs to stick to 6 inch scale figures. Their mario movie line was at that 6 inch scale, and they need to make their nintendo figures ongoing to 6 inch scale excluding their world of nintendo mario Line which fits perfectly against 6 inch figures
Yeah but it was out of scale for many other video game things. Mario is a character that is more typically mixed with the Smash Bros roster and not Marvel Legends for instance. I think a 4.5 inch Mario would be the perfect scale for him, right in between the 4inch video game figures and the 5inch movie Mario.
@obi-onekenerdi yeah. Like I said, the mario line is a perfect scale, but their other figures are shitty and inconsistent like this, and the zelda/metroid line and such
The figure is at its correct price point. Your looking for more which would have brought this out of its price point. You looking for a $25 and up figure and this is not it.
Wtf is this!?…I just can’t get behind on why they don’t put more effort into this line and make them 1/12 for adult collectors. This looks really bad. Horrible sculpt. Glossy plastic. Just really cheap looking. And yeah I get it they’re trying to make them affordable and cheap for kids to have but let’s be honest. Little tommy is not going to care about these figures. They should know adults are definitely going to buy these. So why not actually make them look decent at least? Look at what Jada Toys did to the Chester figure. That figure is outstanding. Like give me a break.
Yes and honestly I want a better line of sonic and Mario figures Jakks is good for the price but compared to other adult focused lines they lack a lot it would be nice to have more options.
@hercb4388 The mario and sonic line are perfectly fine except for the Eggman figures, but there other characters like the Sega, metroid, and zelda really need to get onto the 1/12 scale
@hercb4388 if Jada gets the rights and approval that would be awesome. But I would rather have them take other franchises instead of Nintendo, like Mortal kombat, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and such, as those franchises really need some more figure lines instead of the ultra expensive lines
