I also bought it after a really long hesitation and mistrust of new turntables. It doesn't have as good a wow/flutter as the old turntables, but I'm extremely happy with it, both in terms of processing and sound.
Hey. Thanks for this. I’m an old die hard Dual 1219/1229 fanatic and having a hard time getting on board with this new incarnation of my beloved Dual turntable.
I also have a Dual 1219 Turntable with a Shure cartridge and play through a Vintage Sansui G5000 amp. Thinking about buying a CS-429 to use so I can keep my 1219 working great (it does require some operational maintenance). I also have a Denon AVR-W7200WA surround amp and play an Audio-Technica AT-LP120XUSB though it. Even with a ifi zen phono preamp and a NAGAOKA Cartridge MP-110, It doesn't touch the sound the Vintage Dual turntable and Sansui Amp. Hopefully the CS-429 playing through the Sansui Amp will do as well.
I recently purchased the CS429 and I use a NAGAOKA MP-110 Cartridge, which does sound much better then the Ortofon 2M Red. which comes with the turntable. More noteworthy I just purchased a Pro-Ject Leather it turntable mat which make a remarkable difference in the sound quality which i did not expect. Not sure why, but much crisper sound in all frequencies and sharper bass. I also tried a Acrylic Turntable Slip Mat but it's no contest against the Pro-ject Leather it.
I haven't tried it but I will definitely investigate. For me a lot of collecting vinyl is the chase. Finding something good at the flea market is more fun than buying a $35 record at Target. Thanks for the tip!
I recently pulled out my old gear to listen to vinyl again and everything worked great until I was showing my grandson how to fine tune the speed against the strobe on my technics sl-1310 turntable. Now it won’t hold speed; it slows and speeds up. I’ve cleaned the pots the best I can but it didn’t help much. So it looks like I’m in the market for a new turntable. I too would like an automatic or at least semiautomatic turntable. Thanks for the review, I’ll check this one out.
Thanks for the review. I've got an older Technics SLDL1 linear tracking turntable and I love the automatic features of it. But after almost 40 yrs it's time for a new one. Ive looked at the Project Debut Carbon Evo, Rega P3, NAD 588 amongst others i came to the same conclusion as well. My eyesight isn't what it used to be. I came across the Dual CS 429. The only thing that I wasn't a fan of was the black. I wish it came in a walnut or wood grain. Anyways I'll have to go and listen test it. What lights are they below the Dual? Ty!
Sorry - They are not part of the turntable. :-) They respond to sound and make for a cool light show when sitting on the couch in the dark listening, but are very annoying when doing anything else.
Really torn on pulling the trigger on this. I`m with you on fully auto or at least semi auto. So many reviews are sponsored and really not worth the time So thanks
First off, there are hardly any automatic t-tables anymore worth bothering with and your component stand doesn't absorb vibration but rather isolates it(somewhat) from its surroundings.
All Dual turntables with "DT" in the name are made in China and have nothing to do with the original Dual turntables. The ones with the "CS" are (as you mentioned correctly) from a german Company and made in China (except their top model ,which is really made in germany). The most real Dual turntable that you can buy and still made in the same region of the famous Black Forest in South Germany, are the "Rekkord" turntables, which are belong to the company "Audio Trade" in Austria, also owner of ""Pro-ject" turntables. But hey,you are happy with your Dual and that's the most important thing! Greetings from Germany!

To get good Wow and Flutter results, get a new Technics table
@@MrNicks-gn8jc I have no problem with Wow and Flutter on the Dual. I also have Technics.

I love this turntable. It is rock solid and produces great sound with the provided cartridge. Thanks for watching!

Wow I did not know that a mat would make such a difference. I think I will checkout the leather one you mentioned. Thanks for watching and sharing
Me ha encantado el video este va a ser el tocadidcos voy a comprar muchas gracias y un saludo
Don't know if you tried a Spin Clean for your records, but it does a pretty good job of cleaning up those flea market finds.

What lights are they below the Dual?
Ty!
Hi - Those lights are some cheap things I bought off of Facebook. They pick up any sounds and convert to lights. Kind of fun. Thanks for watching.
@@rediscovervinyl do you remember the name of them?
Yw!
Please tell me the lights aren’t part of it 🤦🏻♂️ or can it be disabled.

Hi would you tell me do they have the repeat button.
Unfortunately it doesn’t.
@@rediscovervinyl I think the app allows you to repaet 10 times!
@@PhilDelVecchio There is an app to use with the turntable? I didn't know!

Strange, on the rear of my CS-429 says made in Germany.
