      I actually don't mind change, but in a way I do, sometimes change is hard but other times I would love there to be a change. If that makes sense 😂

    I feel ridiculous! I'm sitting hear crying over your video. I have a lump in my throat. There is something about you, Jeanine, that touches my heart and soul. Your loving kindness, you love of God, your love of family, you are such an inspiration. I'm learning from you. I'm a 68 year old mother and grandmother, so you're never too old to learn. I am so proud of you. I think you are absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much for taking the time to vlog. You add so much to my life. I'll keep watching. PS. Hope you got your hacking situation figured out. The pups are adorable.

    I pray when you look in the mirror you can see yourself as others do! We see the kind spirit, sunshine, a sweet smile and joy! Is life like that every moment “no” but pretty close when you turn and look behind you! I was blessed with all boys never a daughter but if I had been I would have wanted her to be like you!

    • @theMennoniteMom
      @theMennoniteMom  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      aww, thank you kindly! Yes, life isn't always like this, but I thank you for your kindness and for being here! I can't decide if I want all boys or if I want a girl. I think a family of all boys would be quite fun. I'm sure they kept you busy!

    You are so right! People are too negative. I am a nurse and I worked in an OB office for a while and it frustrated me to no end how many women who came in to the office because some other woman had told her a horror story about pregnancy and she was convinced something was wrong with her precious baby. I learned through that not to tell someone your horrific experience unless they ask you specifically. That’s an awful thing to do to a new mom who is already anxious about her child.
    Learning the difference between empathy and sympathy is also important.
    Children are hard work, but they are such a blessing and so much fun! God loans them to us for a short while and staying focused on the blessing really helps you manage the difficult times.

    Hi, this is good stuff. My sis and I were just talking, last week, about living in the moment. Instead of "in the good old days".
    I was never diagnosed with my stomach problems.....(as some of us have seemed to inherit it from our Grandma Yoder, we always called it the Yoder-stomach). But one day my family was on an hour drive. My hubby had to stop 6 times for me to go to the bathroom. We were headed to a Pentecostal type church to give a program for a ministry that we were with at the time. That night I went to the front of the church and was prayed for. Since that night, I have not had the bathroom troubles I had before then. It is an amazing thing not to have to worry about finding every bathroom in every store, park, neighbors house, etc. etc. I praise God for His Healing!

    Oooo GUILTY 🙋🏼‍♀️ being a very recent (only a few months in) empty nester I might have been one of those, “enjoy every moment as it will go too fast” commenters. I’m so sorry! It was said wistfully...not negatively. But I can absolutely see how that would sound negative and could tailspin someone into fear. I’m very sorry!! Please forgive me. Every phase is amazing, even the empty nester phase because without it I cannot become a grandma! I will be more mindful of the impact of my words and their delivery going forward. God bless you and thank you for the gentle reminder 💙

    • @theMennoniteMom
      @theMennoniteMom  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No no no! I honestly never thought of you! Yes, I don't like the thought of my children growing so fast, but it's a good reminder when the days can get a little long at the present with a demanding 2 year old! I can imagine it takes adjustment to be an empty nester! But now you get to look forward to grandkids! maybe? My mom says its more fun than your own kids? LOL.

    I have felt this way. I feel the opposite now as I fight through chronic illness and I hold onto “this stage, hopefully, won’t last” phase of my life. I laughed out loud when you said you gravitate towards teenagers. Our son was so connected to his Daddy when he was a baby but now he love being with me and Jim loves teenagers and I love babies. I guess God knew we needed to push our boundaries. It is so hard sometimes but worth it. He has watched me fight through so much but he told me the other day, as I was having a hard day and struggling to just exist he said something that made me feel like what I do is worth the struggle. He looked at me and through tears he said Mama you are my hero. It took my breath away. I think I like this “phase” of life. Sorry if this is rambling, it has been a rough week.by the way, Xander is absolutely precious. He reminds me of Stephen, fearless! That means he knows he is loved and safe!

    • @theMennoniteMom
      @theMennoniteMom  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You made me cry. I hope I can have a teenager like yours someday! such a relationship! and I'm so sorry you are going through such a hard time! I know all about wanting change in those areas, and it's definitely right to! We need to always have hope in our hearts for better days. I was referring more to phases and stages of life... not neccessarily tragic circumstances. Hugs to you!

    • @findingvikki7469
      @findingvikki7469 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      When I was having a really hard day two weeks ago he sat down next to me and told me that he wished he could make me feel better and he wanted me to know he sees what I live with and has watched me fight to be there for him and I am his hero. It made me cry and made me able and willing to fight even harder to get better. Love Xander and teach him what it means to fight through and keep living no matter what life throws at you. Teach him respect and to love others first and you will have a teenager like mine. He is amazing.

    Wow Jeaninne....I woke up to this and it was exactly what I needed. Today is the one year anniversary of my husband's passing from cancer and you can't believe the number of people who have been telling me how hard THIS day would be. Like it was going to be so much worse than all the other days leading up to it because of the date. Last night before sleeping, I zoomed in on Google Earth to my old homestead in Lebanon County. I took the little man down on the road and "rode my bike" like when I was a young teen when I would stuff carrots in my pockets and ride down to Messerschmidt's farm and the huge Belgian horses they worked the farm with would come running to the fence for their treats. I adored horses too AND puppies (yours lifted my spirits so much). Lovely video....you spoke life to my spirit this morning.

    I needed this today. I just had an emotional roller coaster. I had a false pregnancy and really thought I was having another baby. But drs office says I'm not. At 49 Im facing the point in my life where I'll have no more children (unless God allows it). Facing that stage in my life and just not ready to let go. I needed a reminder to look forward to the next stage of life. I have 3 healthy wonderful children. I still pray to be blessed with another but looks like not. I think this is the hardest stage to move on from but need to look forward.

    I embrace change and never had a problem with it. I am 60 years old and my problem is it takes too long in many cases to make changes. Installing stalling solar power, the building of a electric car, fixing my physical problems from getting older and the list goes on and on. Just learn one new thing each day you learn 365 new things each year. Then apply it to your life and the change comes naturally. We are living in a age that anything is possible and enjoy it!

    Great advice ! I love the sandwich idea. I specifically remember as a teenager saying to myself I am going to be happy ! (My childhood wasn't so happy.) It was a decision and I have been a happy positive person. I have bad days but I always find things to be happy about and find things to look forward to. I had one child which was my decision and I loved it. Now she gave me two sets of twin granbabies!!! So I'm loving that now. I loved the montage at the end! Thanks for sharing that! I think a better piece of advice is to simply be present to your life - whatever stage you’re in. By this I mean that it can be easy to get caught up in the worries, the bills, and the distractions, but we should remember to put those down as we can, look around, and notice the beauty around us, the relationships that bless us, and even take the time to notice the miracle of our own hearts beating and the sound of our breathing. Being present to life in this moment doesn’t mean that the next moment will be any less beautiful, but it means you’re noticing what’s in this moment and appreciating the gift of it. Your beautiful spirit and bright smiles make me suspect that you already do this!

    Oh my goodness!! This spoke straight to my heart!! Just yesterday at work a person was telling me how sad I should feel because my children are grown and that I should be pining away for those days. Well....that's sad. Yes, I loved those days! Yes, my greatest job is wife and mom. I'm still those things. My children are just older. Enjoy every season of life! God has great blessings for us right where we are! There is a song by a Christian singer and its called Speak Life. There is a verse in there that says: "Lift you head a little higher, spread the love like fire. Hope will fall like rain when you speak life with the words you say. Raise your thoughts a little higher, use your words to inspire. Most important u do have to stay positive, all negativity does, is stopping u from living ur life to the fullest. U are such a wonderful person. Everything u talked about in ur video, was so true. You are a wonderful woman. Thanks for sharing your memories and witnessing. I, too, feared change. I also went through a horse phase. Must say your horses are gorgeous! I think the problem many of us have and mistake we make is dwelling on the past, how things used to be, how our husband has 'changed'. We see it is a negative. But we have to grow and that is all part of it. We weren't blessed with children--he didn't want any because he had a child from his previous marriage. My tendency was to blame him for any feelings of inadequacy I had when actually I should have discerned better. We set up expectations that no one can meet... Again, thank you for sharing.

    Change I think can be difficult for most of us, it doesn’t hurt to love our memories, ever hear a song that takes you back to that special time and place and you almost want to cry. I look at life like chapters in a book, one can be filled with excitement and the next with struggles, we can pen our own story with God walking beside us and I am a firm believer that we need to watch the words we speak over ourselves, family and others..

    Yup, I so do not like change and I am feeling the same way when people tell me enjoy life now cuz when you have teenagers you'll have way more stress. Our children are ages 2,4 6,8 and 10 and yes it is a busy life with the husband working but I wouldn't trade them for the world. And Lord willing I would like a few more sometime in the future. I was rocking my youngest 2 and watching this and you really made my day go better. My 2 year old always gets so excited when he sees Xander. Such a needed message! I agree with you - I dislike change, and we don't do anyone any favors by painting life with the dismal colors of dread and dismay. You won't have those times back, but the new phase will suit you perfectly. Will all seasons be glorious? No- no one likes the howling blizzard when snow and ice and wind are fierce and bitterly cold. But when the sun comes and shows the beauty of the glistening snow and ice hanging from trees...you can glory that you weathered the storm. I lost half my family in four years time. It was hard and I wish I could say I did a fantastic job going through that trial. But in the midst of the storm, God sent my husband. We are celebrating 22 years (today!) Would I go through that again? It wasn't happy, but I had joy, and was able to rejoice in the Lord.
    Be like the Israelites when they rebuilt the wall around Jerusalem...focus on what's right in front of you. Galatians 6:4 tells us we need to be concerned about what we are doing - we are responsible for our own walk. We can help our brothers and sisters out, by encouraging them along the way. Let us not look at someone else's life and be jealous, let's face it, we don't know the whole story. We can rejoice when they experience wonderful things and weep when tragedy strikes. We never know the full story because no one shows all.
    ❤Great video!😊☺❤

      @@theMennoniteMom It was only by the grace of God. I had some dark times, and as I tell my children, it's so important to pay attention to people around us, because they are hurting and we have the Answer and the Help that people need. When I lost my parents (a month & 16 days apart) I wanted desperately to be comforted (but I didn't understand at the time) and so I was rather short with people (I worked in a Christian day care - so being short was not acceptable!) and my boss took me aside and said, (basically) shape up or ship out. What I needed was someone to help me through that time. I learned many things through those times.
      1. We cannot accept that people are Christians if they have no fruit, there's a reason why God's Word tells us to check the fruit and test the Spirits. This is not to say dislike them.
      2. People who are acting out generally are the ones who need the most love, and if any person ought to love on them, it's a follower of Jesus Christ.
      3. When the world let's you down, Jesus will be there. He NEVER fails. Ever.
      4. Life, as difficult as it can be, will always have gifts and highlights even in the midst of the storm. You have to search sometimes, but they are there.

    I think more than anything that we get older so much faster than we are thinking when we are young. So the wiser adult will say enjoy this time. There are parents who can't wait until a child is walking or toilet trained. Things like that but don't know that away with those things go the tender sweet moments of rootless smiles. I cried when I knew the cradle was being put away for the last time and that first tooth came in. And now as a grandmother of the oldest being 21, I can tell you that time does go faster than you can imagine.

    One day we will understand why God has allowed certain things to happen to us here. Until then, Proverbs 3:5-6 are what I always turn to for encouragement. You are so encouraging to us. Thank you for sharing about your condition. I have someone close to me that has had ulcerative colitis for many, many years. It is something that you have to plan for accidents and you are always looking for where the bathroom is everywhere you go. I'm praying for you and the many people that you touch through your life. God has a plan for you! I read a story just this morning of a woman named Charlotte Elliott who wrote a poem "Just As I Am". She had a handicap and wanted to do more, but all she could do was write this poem. Well, that turned into a song/hymn that has led many to Christ. No matter our circumstances, God WILL use us. HE is using you.....with what you are doing here. God bless you!!

I look at you and the interaction you have with Xander and I can't help but think how wonderful it would be if every child had a mom like you.
    As for change, I am much like you. The thought of change can be challenging, especially change that doesn't seem to be in my favor. But when I look back on my life, which I often do, it allows me to see all the changes that have taken place in my life and realize in that moment that change hasn't always been so awful, for the most part it has been quite wonderful. Looking back also helps me to see God's hand in my life, how great He truly is and that I should rely on Him so much more than I do. He loves me and has my best interest at heart.

    Loved that song at the end! Great montage. You are right change can be hard, consider all of it a blessing. The Lord knows what you need and directs your path through out your life if you are a child of his.

    Yes! I never like the forewarning either! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I totally understand having to run to the bathroom. All of the years of my being sicm every time I don't make it to the bathroom in time I would just laugh! I decided I wasn't going to make a huge deal about it because it was just what was! We jokingly call it an "oopsy poopsy" 😂😂😂 hang in there! God is our healer and you are definitely on the right track! God bless 💗

    Great video ! I wish there would have been a positive way of thinking when I first married. I wasted a lot of time in negativity over the years. I’m glad to see the next generation have such a more positive outlook. I now enjoy my time with my husband, children and grandchildren

    I loved this video. So much truth. We have so much to be thankful for and grateful for. God is good. Never doubt your inner and outer beauty. You have a great sense of humor, and you aren't afraid to try anything. ( fixing that camper- I would have not had a clue of where to start) So blessed to have found your channel. ❤❤😊😊🙏🙏

    No one ever gave me advise like that. I just dealt with things when they came up. I got a big kick out of your son. He is so cute.He made me laugh. I think you have a good handle on things.I guess the way to deal with life is always to be thankful. If we decide to be content with whatever situation we're in we will be happier.Enjoyed the video.
