    Sick video. Thanks for the insight! Just a quick question: did you personally reach out to any college coaches to get recruited, or did they reach out to you first?

    • @KyleMillis
      @KyleMillis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Some colleges reached out to me and others I had to pursue them. I’d say reach out to as many as you like as most of them will be nice enough to respond.

    Hi Kyle, thanks for another awesome video! I noticed that you are using some BPN product in this video. I’m a masters triathlete and have watched Nick Bare’s videos on his transition into triathlons and distance running. I’m not sure if you’re a regular user of BPN products but they could be a potential partner to hit up. I know you’ve talked about looking for potential partners in previous videos. You could offer Nick some free swimming analysis as a deal sweetener. We triathletes need all the help we can get! Ha ha. Thanks so much and go Bears! All the best from Stockholm, Sweden.

    • @KyleMillis
      @KyleMillis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ya I just bought some on a recommendation from my friend who had watched his videos, I wanted to try it out before I reached out for a deal. I will definitely be reaching out to him!

    I am so confused, you said 4000 meters, then you said 4000 yards. Which is it, dude?

    • @KyleMillis
      @KyleMillis  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting question, you see, this pool is a SCM pool so meters but it looks small similar to yards

  • @jeter1482
    @jeter1482 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yo Kyle, I was wondering how many yards you think is good to swim without overdoing it, thanks! Also great video, love seeing the pros training. One more thing, what is a flop?

    • @KyleMillis
      @KyleMillis  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally depends on your event and what part of the season you’re in. During our season we swim between 5k to 8k yards in a day between 1 or 2 practices.
      By flop, I just mean loosen up, do whatever stroke or drills you want, kind of just “flop” around.

    Hi! I’m following you from the last month and you’re making so good content!! I’m also looking for a swimming cap like you’re wearing at this video, do you know were can I buy it? (I’m from spain)

    • @KyleMillis
      @KyleMillis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t know where you could buy a Cal cap specifically, I mean they only give them out to team members, but there are lots of caps like this on speedos website (that’s our sponsor)

    Kyle when I drink water and eat nothing before a morning workout, I can always hear the water sloshing around and I makes my stomach uncomfortable. Any tips?

    • @KyleMillis
      @KyleMillis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well I’d recommend eating breakfast first off haha
      It’s important to eat breakfast, I had a bowl of cereal and fruit this morning but didn’t show it. It helps a lot with all of that. Also your body I feel like adjusts to it over time, I used to have that problem, even when I did eat

  • @kwap69
    @kwap69 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Hey man, great content! Just wanted to offer a quick tip on your DB Bench. Instead of having your elbows flared out at 90 degrees, try bringing them towards your body at more of a 45 degree angle. This will take pressure off of your shoulders/rotator cuffs. This angle will also engage the chest more and provide an overall better chest pump. Try it and and let me know how it feels!

    • @KyleMillis
      @KyleMillis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes I actually do 25-33% of my reps with 45% angle for that reason. I didn’t show all of those but you can kind of see it in the 60lb dumbbell shot I believe. My weights coach has suggested that to me. Definitely helps but is quite awkward.

    How many mgs of caffeine are in your pre? Dope video btw

    • @KyleMillis
      @KyleMillis  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! Of pure caffeine, there is 300 mg, but there is also other things such as dicaffeine in it and other sources that provide a lasting effect similar to coffee. It’s a really good pre workout for swimmers as it provides sustained energy through warm up and the race without the straight jitters.

    Hi Kyle. I have a question for you I am a D3 swimmer and I am currently having my best year for swimming however access to a pool around my area is hard right now with everything shutting down again. I don’t want to lose my ability this season. What do you suggest I do? Lift twice a day? Schedule my lifts longer? Or just keep lifting as much as I do and dieting properly?

    • @KyleMillis
      @KyleMillis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s such a bummer but yes a great question! So it all depends on your body type. For someone like myself who is racing 200 yards and under, I think that lifting can be more beneficial if you’re doing it correctly and getting solid speed work while in the water. I find that as long as I’m able to hit 100 and 200 pace, I’m fine. For distance swimmers 200 yards and above, I feel like it’s all about endurance. You have to have that base, as opposed to the speed you need for other races.

    • @liamwhite8713
      @liamwhite8713 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KyleMillis thank you I’m a distance swimmer so I will definitely go more for the endurance.
