Typed in ‘Olympic training center’ and this popped up. My son is a swimmer so we watched this for some dream building. Was hoping you were a swimmer, and you are. Cool stuff
I remember touring that facility when I visited Colorado in Nov 2018. It looked so nice and I learned a lot. I’m glad to know it doesn’t look that different
They keep it really clean & new! Only the best sports tech I loved working out and seeing all the tour groups come through and look at us - it was like we were in a Zoo haha
Great stuff. Impressed that you can balance being at a rigorous school and major while also swmiming at the top level along with managing the youtube to give content to us. Great stuff and would also love to see your next video on day in the life at the center.
Thats so cool! A couple of my teammates got the chance to go to otc earlier this year, so im hoping to get the chance to go next year with them! It looks great! ❤️❤️
I love that you can have your meals custom made. Are there figure skating facilities there? I have heard of a few elite skaters that trained in Colarado Springs. Also do NBA players only train there if they are going to compete later at a high altitude?
@@KyleMillis I guess what I'm wondering is (since you mentioned altitude training) is it just by coincidence because of Colorado's altitude. Or do athletes go out of their way to do altitude training to perhaps benefit their cardio capacity?
Hi Kyle, thanks for such a great video. What an amazing set up! Just think of all the champion athletes who have trained there on their way to Olympic glory. I can’t wait for the next video and go Bears! All the best from Sweden.
Hi Kyle! I've been swimming for a couple years now and I finished top in state in a few of my events last year but I am a bit nervous. I have states coming up this year and its my first time having to compete with 13-14 year olds(I turned 13 a couple days ago). I'm super nervous to be swimming against kids that have a lot more experience me, and I already qualified for state by time, but I'm scared I am gonna get smoked. I'm wondering how you prepare for important meets where you feel there are a lot of expectations on you and how to keep calm during the meets when you might be a bit nervous. Much appreciated! Also I love your channel keep up the great content!
Thanks so much for the support! Great question. First off, congratulations on your recent success. I would say to try and remind yourself of your past success when in doubt, success in practice or at meets. I think that you have to try and remain in your own lane when swimming against those faster than you and focus on what you can do to improve your own swimming.
So I have to focus on myself and worry about myself more than what other people are doing because that's the only way I'm gonna improve. Thank you so much and your tiktok investing advice is pretty helpful, too. I look up to you and can't wait to see more of your videos in the future!
cool tour - is the pool always set up for long course? what kind of practices do you guys do now? do you guys get to do short course while you are there? looking forward to the next one!
Great video! Back in the day, my college swim team (along with coach Phil Hansel) stayed/trained at the OTC for a couple of weeks. Really cool experience. I still remember swimming in the flume with some sort of mask apparatus over my face/mouth and getting my finger pricked every few minutes. 😧
Happy new year Kyle! I wish you much happiness this year! Btw, I’m totally freaking out to see how great the USA national Olympic center is. So chill! I was like 😲 during this video. I can’t wait to see another episode! Take care dude!
Good thats first world looks Like, danmm in my country only have a freeking hole with a punch of water for olympics athlethes, anyway great video TY¡¡!!!
This was really interesting. Is this facility funded fully by the US government? Or do you have to earn a bursury to do a camp there. I did a skating camp at Lake Placid a while back - this makes me wish I had done a tour of the Olympic facilities.
No, the USOPC and its facilities are not funded by the federal government. The United States is perhaps the only Olympic team in the world that's private ran and funded. All of the stuff you saw were paid by sponsors, donations, and fees.
Hey Kyle! I’ve been having difficulty recently with training, I’ve been feeling burnt out and am struggling to find motivation. It feels like a domino effect with the last week. After making sectionals recently, I’m wondering how I can get to the next level(futures). Any help or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
Burn out is a common problem, I myself face even from time to time. The things that keep me focused are my goals, those around me supporting me such as teammates and coaches, and knowing that when I do achieve those standards, the feeling I will get from that.
How much does it cost to stay there? Or is it free for elite/collegiate D1? Do you need an invitation or credentials? Your dorm rooms are still bigger than the units at Cal, especially since you have a single room.
They do produce some great athletes. Training centers like this only support them parts of the year, they have to be working hard when they aren't here too!!

can you do videos on exercises you do at the gym that you find beneficial for your swimming? thank you!
Yes that would be a good thing to show, it varies a lot between sprinters and distance so a good contrast would be good
Your content is so awesome and relatable. I can totally see you blowing up soon! Keep it up, man!

I believe that they do when they are preparing for international competitions but I don’t know about just for the NBA
