Had my GT do pretty much the same thing, in fact it hydraulic locked after been left overnight.
If memory serves me correct there is a drain plug in the engine main cases on RH side.
So after draining and 'venting' the motor I put some oil directly in the bores via the spark plug holes, made sure the autolube was full and kicked it over until my leg went numb.
When I came to actually run it I used an auxiliary tank with pre-mix.
Probably overdone but no seized motor, plenty of smoke at first though 😱

Hi Paul, what rebuild kit did you use? Most of the ones I've found online are for the earlier model.

Hi, can't remember the brand now (was several years ago) sorry about that. Seem to recall I got most parts from Wemoto at the time so probably from them.
      Hope the refurb goes well.

    Paul,
What are the two smaller gauge lines are still installed at the 1:30 mark? Im trying to find out if these carbs will work for a retro-fit I'm doing for a 1974 gt250 hustler.
Thank you for posting videos to help people like me!

Hi Drew, nothing more sophisticated than overflows. This link th-cam.com/video/hE-cmwt4X8o/w-d-xo.html should take you to video of me syncing the carbs and you can see tubes in place on the carbs fitted to the bike which hopefully will make things a little more obvious.
Thank you for your comments, just so you know though I am not a 'qualified mechanic' simply a well meaning amateur with 40 plus years experience of servicing, building and repairing bikes; hope your project goes well

LOL at least you did not need a translator, some commented they could not understand one of my videos because of my accent. 🤣
A little while back I replaced the kick start spring on a DT 400, not a massively technical job, did have to swear at it quite a bit though as the 400 kick start also has a ratchet pawl that has to be phased correctly.
Let me know how you get on 🤫
