I said it six months ago and I'll say it again now: This video has changed my life forever. Thank you TH-cam, thank you TedTalks, and foremost thank you Iman Aghay.
wow... it is also changing mine i think..after just listening to it... my heart is beating fast..and felt im doing everything wrong in my life...must do all right things. now... can u please talk more about how it has changed ur life forever..im just so curious... thank u a lot
andronicus632 it’s been a few months since you left your comment. I hope things are much better in your life today than when you has your previous job. For many people getting out of a company is a blessing in disguise
Aaron Johnson so sorry to hear about what you are going through. I’ve been both caregiver and patient at different times in my life. I have huge respect for all caregivers of patients with chronic diseases!
Why do you not love yourself enough? What is blocking this? If I was you I would recommend to look into your past and see if there is anything that needs to be healed within your inner child. God Bless
I am nearly 70 years old and in reflecting back throughout the decades of my life, I can verify that being true to myself is at least in the top 3 of beliefs/ behaviors that is important to me. I do regret those times when I spoke and/ or acted in non beneficial ways solely based on the wanting approval of others. Still a work in progress. Thanks Iman Aghay and props to the people who are in pursuit of living a meaningful life.
This has and will forever change my life and has saved me from the regret and sadness that has been taking over my life for the past 3 yrs. 15 minutes of heartfelt common knowledge conversation, delivered to me just when I needed it most.
After watching this Ted, I decided to take a leave of absence from work to spend time with my family in need and see long term friends I've been promising to go visit for years but never took the time cause I was always too busy working.
2%, 1.9% to be exact, of the fifty thousand views left a 'Like' on this video. The five people I've sent it to, none of the five wanted to discuss it. Four of the five was depressed by it..... everyone has to get to this place themselves, can't force it. I'm grateful my road led me here. I was dropping bad habits over the past year slowly and surely. In the past couple weeks since seeing this, it's been a massacre. I am so grateful for the good people of TED, who by all appearances just want to make the world better. I hope I find the words to pass it forward myself one day. Great Stuff
Eduardo Dont worry, most people dont care. They prefer to live their robot and people pleasing lives than realize what they really want Depressed by it? No. They just dont have courage to face their regrets and are afraid of change.
I have the same road this year, dropping bad habits, re-learning good ones, correcting mistakes and learning from it - by taking notes from Ted Talks (and TedxTalks). It helped me bounced back, gained my strength (mentally and physically) and I also wish to help more people by sending the videos to friends. What's sad from my experience is that my friends are screaming for help/frustrations about their life and mental health. But whenever I send videos to them, they don't really watch it after promising they would. I stopped sending in the end because I can't help/inspire them if they don't want to.
"Life can be very short and can end up quite suddenly". Indeed. The meaning of life is to live a life of self-fulfilment. Not just in having a family and having career success. but to contribute with something meaningful that matters to many other people. To fight for a cause, to stand for something bigger than yourself.
That is definitely part of it. The meaning of life is to love God and be loved by God, and doing fulfilling things that help others is part of that for sure. 💙
The only thing more amazing than Iman's story, is what he has done since this experience. I first met him at Pure Potentials speakers conference in Phoenix this past October and was blessed to attend his recent conference in Vancouver. True to his promise, he is making a difference in entrepreneurs lives, one life at a time. Thank you Iman and team for the amazing work you are doing, and the encouragement and direction you provide for all of us!
This story is an inspiration, but your OTHER story about what you've done since arriving in this country with only a little English and a lot of dedication is as riveting. Congrats Iman - you earned every ounce of your success!
Iman has a treasure trove of inspirational stories from his life. I think this is in part because of the early confrontations he’s had with mortality. Many of his stories are the result of the commitment he’s made to live the life of his dreams. It keeps him continuously growing and facing life’s challenges. Iman is definitely a great role model in many ways.
In order to plan and act on the life of your dreams, you first need to know what your dreams are. Most of us either don't know their dreams or adopt society's dreams thinking they are their own
That's why he said to spend the time figuring out what your dreams are. Buy a book, get a mentor, just sit down and think about it, whatever it takes that's what you have to do
What a great talk..!! Sobering, honest questions that everyone should be asking themselves.. But of course, it isn't so simple.. Most people don't know what they're passionate about in life, what they're willing to fight for, what they're willing to die for.. They're too busy making money, making ends meet, surviving and existing, too tired to question the important things in life. Their purpose, TRUE purpose, their motivation day after day.. Their beliefs and passions.. Goals, dreams, aspirations.. I think most people want to help others in some way, but feel they can't, not enough time, not enough money, not enough energy, not smart enough, simply don't know how.. Start with yourself and find your purpose..
You don't have to have enough money or stuff to be able to help people even a cheerful countenance can lighten up someone and that's making an impact. Let's give whatever and however little we can.
Wonderful presentation. My favorite quote on this topic comes from Marcus Aurelius, “You could leave life right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think.”
I was expecting that I would be able to watch full video without a lot of notes. I wanted to write down the most important notes at the end of video but I writed down every single word in my development book. This is definitely the best and the most important video in my life. Thanks to Iman Aghay!
The words he said, "NEVER POSTPONE YOUR HAPPINESS" really hit me. It made me more courageous to let myself enjoy the small things in the now and in daily life. I often think I can only feel fulfilled or happy only when I can do something big for others. But the fact when he pointed out that our lives can end at any point without announcement help me to appreciate every moment of this very life and feel more grateful. Thank you a lot to TED TALK to make this talk possible and Iman for delivering a wonderful message to the audiences
Surprisingly, I happened to find this video today and watched it more than twice. It really makes me reflect on my life and something has been changed in me, of course in a positive way. It is one of the greatest talks in TEDx. A bunch of thanks sent to Iman Aghay.
- If I died today, I would regret the times I spent comparing myself to others, and lowering my own self-worth. - I’m currently 20 years old, majoring in a field that doesn’t align with my values. I want to be a teacher. But first, after I finish my bachelors, I want to study abroad in Europe, with a scholarship, since my family wouldn’t be able to pay for it on our own. And I still have doubts in my abilities, not knowing if this path is “for me” or not. But I feel like that’s just my fear of failure stopping me from even trying in the first place. - The bad habits that are hindering me from my goals are: negative self-talk, procrastination through social media consumption, and habitual self comparison to others. - I’ll be back in a year - that’s when I’ll graduate - to see if I’ve made changes to get myself on the path true to my heart.

I have been cancer free for 7 years and I don't think about it much. From now on, each day I wake up, I will get on my knees and thank the Almighty and rejoice in my Blessings. And watch less TV.
I have watched a lot Ted Talks videos, but this one is the best one, and i am standing behind my words. That is a LITERALLY eyes opening speech. Thanks!
Wonderful talk. I'm 75 but I always knew what this man is saying. I was a self-employed carpenter. When I would earn ten thousand dollars I would retire for a few months until my savings had dwindled to five thousand. Then I would search for a job. I was sure to always relax and enjoy myself throughout the interlude and try to ignore the endless search for financial improvement. No regrets.
sorry for your dad. our real life sometimes make us go wrong way. But when I hear your talk, I know that I should look back my past and find out what really important for all my life. That is my dream work, my freedom to live mylife. Thanks for your share !
I’ve just found inconditional love for my life. I will be true to myself and thinking of what I could regret made me think what I can change today and there are many things that need changing in my life. May everyone reading this be blessed and find true happiness. And most of all be true to your heart.
The road less travelled. The good Samaritan . inspiring . Truth is the only reflection that matters . Hope Iman fulfills his fathers dream for him , in the poetic sense that he travels to those places and meets those people whom his father taught him about , when he himself is 53 and has many many years to share that with many grandchildren .
"Take action today and change the one habit that will cause your biggest regret if you died tonight" ---- A very powerful quote to reflect on. I thought about this and quickly came to the conclusion that a very bad habit of mine is always being scared of everything and being confident. Mostly in social situations. I cannot hold a conversation with people and it drives me crazy. How would i go about fixing this?
Seek professional help! This is something you can overcome with a good therapist and it doesn't have to limit your life anymore! If for whayever reason you don't have an access to professional help one way is to start researching modalities used in therapy and doing it yourself. Also some good info by the.holistic.psychologist on insta and kati morton on yt. Hope you find it useful, everything is figureoutable, all the best xx
Relax and let the other person speak more and ask about themselves and give then more attention and priase them. Git this from thr book thag i cant recall. Its in my book playlist.
Read, watch and learn this like learning a new skill. You just don't have the skill. Also the key is to get out of your head. Be present and curious. Ask people questions and be interested. They'll think you're the most interesting! Weird but powerful 😊
Seeing each day as a gift that you can use to affect the rest of your life is a wonderful affirmation. Gratitude is the attitude! Thank you for sharing.
I will ask myself everyday " lf l died today what l am ganna regret? " its so weird that l Immediately I remembered all the things I wanted to do. I think this question reminds us of something very important, which is that all we have is now this precious moment that will become our past and will not return and that what we do now will determine our future.
I feel you all. All comments are felt here. Thank you to the video and all of you. Let's get out there and push for laughter, fun, love , empathy and good vibrations. Amen.
First time I watched this video yesterday ... and what do I know next, great Kobe at 41 after a great career is GONE ... man this is just no fair, but I guess that's life! Live it intensely you only got one.
Ismael Diaz some times the best blessings in your life are disguised in unfair events in your life. This might be the best thing that have happened to you if you take action on it and use what you learned from your past experiences to create a life more aligned with your truth. Wish you all the best and success in the world
Regret I have just one!!!! Apologizing after I told an old mean woman exactly what I think she is, after she screamed at me during work!!! Never ever apologize if your heart tells you not to! Not even if they try to brainwashed you with psychological manipulation to feel guilty about something you did or said. That is the lesson I learned....never ever again!
I hope all people from all around the world watch this video and think on what he said, profoundly. It was one of most inspiring and influencing videos I've ever watched. Thank you Iman!
Wow, Iman, I came across your powerful TEDx Talk, "Nothing to Regret," while working today. It made me pause and reflect on my own life. I don't usually watch or listen to talks, but yours resonated with me on a personal level. Thank you for sharing your beautiful and inspiring story. I'm proud to have had the opportunity to know you and work with you. P.S I am guilty of "buying things that we don't even need"😁 I think that's the first habit I should change.
I think a 5-hour work day, 3-day weekends, universal basic income, and universal healthcare would give people the time and resources to try and achieve their dreams and the time and space to nurture and maintain our relationships, and engage with our community. There are personal things we can do in our lives and there are structural things/polices that could also support us on our journey to create a purposeful and fulfilling life. Countries that have high work hours also tend to watch the most tv. Countries with lower work hours tend to read more, volunteer more etc. We have to try and connect some of the micro with the macro.
Very impactful video. As I sit on vacation in the Dominican living a very blessed life- I realize I do live with limiting thoughts and habits.. this has really made me reflect upon on my poor habits and simply make a change now!! Thank you for this!! I am what I think I am and I can be whatever I want to be!!
This video is so powerful and moving. It is one thing to hear the lessons of this talk, another to hear personal stories that bring it to life. I feel like Mr. Aghay gave me permission to dream, to put the daily grind on hold and revisit the "bucket list." It's amazing how grown adults need to be reminded that we have the power to bring our hopes and dreams to reality -- to get off autopilot and live with intention. Thank you for this talk and I hope today Mr. Aghay is cancer free and healthy.
rachel widerman thanks Rachel for your comment and I’m glad you enjoyed the talk and it’s going to make a difference in your life. I’m absolutely healthy and thanks for asking.
This is possibly the best TEDTalk that I have ever heard. At any rate, it fits my life in a massive way. It could be that you will have the same response to it.
My wife died young 3 months ago from covid I wish I spend more time with her I wish I quit my job as it was stressing me out she is the best thing I ever done with my life
I got very sick a few months ago and could have died. I wasn’t literally on my death bed but I sure felt like I was and it was a wake up call to live differently.
i am someone who has died and come back. That story i wont go into here. Elements in this Ted talk message here are nonsense. When you die, you are given a chance to accept, appreciate, and let go of everything your life was made of. I knew at that time it happened to me, if i carried on like this guy insist with regrets and so forth, it would have been a horrible experience, and who knows what that may have meant within an after life spiritual sense. When I died i realised I potentially had an opertunity to see that whatever has happened here...STAYS HERE....and its time to let go and move on......simple, to the point, and at that time i knew this was the road and i took it. I was revived by medical professionals, which again is its own amazing story. Trying to insight the kind of worry that this video relies on to sell his coaching business is vampiric in the true sense of that word. Lives are lives of all kinds for all reasons and all deserve dignity....he could of spoken about that and would have gained my respect........though sure, the message that we can always aim for the essence of life more and more is important in whatever model that is understood by a person. Thing is my Grandmother found it more than any other person i ever met. She wasn't on some hedonistic self obsessed peak experience journey. She cared for 3 kids in a working farming family who were poor and never moved out of the area they were born in. But if your looking for someone who found self and life dignity and love within the essential circumstances life had presented her, you never needed to look any further, ever.......this kind of message is missing from a talk like this.....
Takitacarey I really appreciate your comment and thanks for sharing your experience. I believe the experience I shared here is different from the experience you went through. My experience was lying down on the hospital bed for hours and hours, knowing any breath could be the last one, and reflecting back on how I would live if I got a second chance. The experience you went through is actually passing away and being revived. I actually don't have that experience and that wasn't what I was sharing in this message. But what you shared of actually passing away and letting go of everything is an interesting and unique experience. Any person's experience is different and I'm glad for you that when you experienced death, you were fulfilled. May be you can do a talk and share your story of what happened and your thoughts/emotions leading to and if any during and after your experience. I'd definitely be interested to hear your story and experience.
really really heart touching video thanks for ted talks thank you iman. when I saw this video I remembered the man who won the Olympic marathon though he was suffering from cancer
Wonderful perspective shift that helps us focus on our daily choices to ensure we live a life we're proud of. I'm grateful to Iman for sharing his deathbed experience and how it shaped his life. Hugely inspiring and helpful talk!
I wish I had lived a life true to myself I wish I had not worked too hard I wish I had expressed my feelings I wish I had stayed in contact with friends I wish I had let myself be happier
There are things, that could be understood only by experiencing them on your self, on your body and psyche and which cannot be understood by listening to lectures.
Khaim Gulkovich I totally agree Khaim. Although many people watch this talk, most never stop for a few seconds and really ask the three questions from themselves. Listening to talks doesn’t change the person’s life, taking action is what makes the difference. I hope more and more people realize this. Stop the video and actually ask the questions from themselves. Unfortunately asking these questions when the person is already on their deathbed is too late!
I disagree. As human beings we have the unique ability on earth to imagine reality, have perspective, and think about our own thinking. You should always learn from the mistakes of others because you can't make them all in your lifetime. But what you can do, and what Iman is trying to prevent, is regret your mistakes after it's way past the point of being able to do something about it I'm not telling you how to live your life, anyone who argues for their problems gets the reward of keeping them. I'd just rather prospectively regret my decisions than retrospectively regret them. No one is destined for their pain, it can be avoided. And you can help others avoid theirs too
Regrets are a waist of time. I live in the NOW, I do not wonder what if, I never look back, same with friendships. If someone do not want to be my friend it's just fine by me. Same goes when I terminate a friendship, and if I do that is because someone has disappointed me more than once. I only regret one thing, once I worked at a place with a mean old woman who was talking behind my back, and one day she screamed at me during work......and that was her mistake. I said a few things to her, and she couldn't get over her big EGO, and told the manager that she wasn't sleeping well because what I said to her. Now the manager asked me, to please apologized to her, because she was old and was still up set about what I told her. Well, he brought his plea in such a way that I felt sorry and agree to apologize against my inner voice telling me not to! And well.....I have learned that I should never ever apologized, against my will. I hope somebody reading this, will learn something. Never ever ever apologize against your feelings. Apology must come from the heart....the reasoning of your mind and heart together in balance.
at the end of ours lifes we are going to ask us did we truly live ? by the otherhand hopefully many people watch this talk since its so helpful and priceless , thank you so much for sharing it
Well, in sociology, this is called retrospective illusion. The past is always necessarily a past as seen in the present moment. Even if we decide to do stuff somehow differently now, it won't prevent us from seeing it as a mistake at some point in the future.
I thought this was more a talk about prospective regret. Instead of retroactively regretting something in the past that can't be changed; like the time you didn't spend with friends and family because you were working so many hours, you think about a possible future and how you'll feel on your deathbed and how you'll feel about that If a person can abstractly hypothesize their own future and _feel_ regret today, then they have a chance to think about changing that trajectory and actually executing that change
I said it six months ago and I'll say it again now:
This video has changed my life forever. Thank you TH-cam, thank you TedTalks, and foremost thank you Iman Aghay.
Eduardo I’m glad this talk helped you change the way you do things :)

I just got fired and I can't believe how much I needed that to happen and this talk made me realize I can move on to my dream
Glory be to God Amen
Being fired is sometimes a blessing!
Most people end up making more than their previous job. You've got this 😎👊🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

For many people getting out of a company is a blessing in disguise
"It's not a rejection, it's a DIRECTION!"
I had to stop, watch & rewatch to reflect what he said & make notes on the points he said. The best motivational book ever expressed in 15 minutes.

Pat Raj, thanks for your comment and I'm glad you enjoyed the talk and took some good notes!

As the caregiver of a spouse with ALS, I can't approve of this message strongly enough
Aaron Johnson so sorry to hear about what you are going through.

I am taking care of my father who was diagnosed with ALS two years ago. I know how hard it is. Just stay strong.

Yes. I agree.

Eduardo - this is the exact reason we need to surround ourselves with like minded people!!
You cannot force people to change and if you want to change you need like minded people

If we don't plan and act on the life of our dreams we end up settling for life that HAPPENS to us .
Best thing I've heard in a long time

This was my dad, when he was around 45 he was diagnosed with frontal temporal dementia, liking that u can relate, bouta keep watching
In order to plan and act on the life of your dreams, you first need to know what your dreams are. Most of us either don't know their dreams or adopt society's dreams thinking they are their own

This is the most powerful talk I came across. Going to bookmark and listen to this every morning.
Start meditating everyday. A simple habit that over time (1-2 months) changes your life completely. Over years... just... amazing
There are so many more videos that are more intense than this one. Trust me! Continue to watch as many TedX Talks as possible to see… God Bless
Wow! I'm watching this every morning to start my day until I'm able to play it in my head by heart! Thank you so much!
The most inspirational one!!! - Please don't wait to keep away from regret- Act now. I'm just moving In sha ALLAH.
This ted talk should get more views. This video changed me.

Heyy, just commenting to invite your reflection on your writing
I’ve experienced a very similar story my fathers als caused his passing 10 years ago. Truly that showed me the real and honest side of life.
I want to cry to hear that, I will be strong than yesterday, do whatever I can do for helping each other, make my family happy, and always grateful for Anything and list all of my dreams, and throw out my sadness and badness, and change it with happiness all the time, thank you for bringing me into my life again, and now I realized it how beautiful life if we can utilize our times not for granted

No regrets.
Truman Green I’m glad you lived a life true to your heart not what the society expected of you!
sorry for your dad. our real life sometimes make us go wrong way.
And most of all be true to your heart.
man it really open my eyes to appreciate every morning god gives to me
The road less travelled. The good Samaritan . inspiring . Truth is the only reflection that matters . Hope Iman fulfills his fathers dream for him , in the poetic sense that he travels to those places and meets those people whom his father taught him about , when he himself is 53 and has many many years to share that with many grandchildren .
This is the only TEDx video that made me cry..

This video has changed my life....!
Definitely, Changing small bad habits step by step can make huge change in the life . And, it requires conscious and sincere effort
There are a lot of failures in my life.
But If I die now I’m more than happy.. nothing to regret.
I think this question reminds us of something very important, which is that all we have is now this precious moment that will become our past and will not return and that what we do now will determine our future.
my favorite ted talk so far wow
If you died today ...then think what is your regret ...
Best Ted talk ...👍👍
No wonder why too many people never seen this! Most people are after temporary things and solutions for it.
It's sensational. I've changed my bucket list because of watching this.
Proud to know you Iman... we had work together back in 2007 ...
Um, ok, but this is his moment, not yours. Congratulate him but there is no need to mention that you worked with him.
Damn man i can feel my heartbeat.
Every word of applause is less for you.
True wisdom♥️
All I can say is: wow!
I hope all people from all around the world watch this video and think on what he said, profoundly. It was one of most inspiring and influencing videos I've ever watched. Thank you Iman!
A mi parecer esta charla esta infravalorada. Es de las que me han inspirado de verdad
Wow very few ted talks I never wanted to end I could really listen to dude talk forever
This is possibly THE most powerful, moving, and inspiring talk I've ever heard in my life!
You're not alone. This is a masterclass
Our wake up call comes when we hit the rock bottom or lying on a death bed and it's is also the opportunity to reflect on our life.
If you're acutely introspective you can use prospective regret, and be *lucky* enough to not let it get to that point before you start reflecting
This video should be required. I didn’t know this much motivation could be fit in 15 mins.
Well Balanced Wallet thanks for your comment and nice words :)
May we all have enough courage to “keep hustling until we bring our dreams into reality”! Inspiring! Thank you!
This talk has opened my eyes and has left me speechless. This must be one of the best talks I've ever seen in my life. Thank you TEDx and Mr. Aghay.
A moment of carelessness, a lifetime of regret.
A lifetime of carelessness, a moment of regret.
the truth is stunning and powerful.......
One of the best TED talks, no doubt.
One of the best ever TEDx talks I ever watched. I guess this would be your best too.
This talk changed my life five years ago. Literally
This is possibly the best TEDTalk that I have ever heard. At any rate, it fits my life in a massive way. It could be that you will have the same response to it.
pastorpresent1 thanks for your comment!
This means a lot to me.
#truthbomb not many realize until it's too late, thank you !
Unstoppable "regret causing bad habits dumping" machine
Proud to know you my friend! You were awesome, you will change many lives with this talk.
My wife died young 3 months ago from covid I wish I spend more time with her I wish I quit my job as it was stressing me out she is the best thing I ever done with my life
I’m sorry about her loss. I wish you strength and future happiness
Death is not a big deal, everyone dies. Life is a big deal, few ever live.
justin joseph couldn’t say it better!
Thanks for your comment :)
"Do it, or do not do it. You'll regret both." - Kierkegaard

Na thanks for your comment on the talk.
Definitely TED Talks have played a big role in educating many people on many interesting topics

ایمان جان
بابت همه تلنگرهایی که در این ویدیو زدی ممنونم.
If we dont plan and act on life and dreams we end up settling with the life that happens to us.
I got very sick a few months ago and could have died. I wasn’t literally on my death bed but I sure felt like I was and it was a wake up call to live differently.
ScienceGuy I’m glad you are feeling better now and that experience turned into a wake up call for you
Man, what a talk! I bow down to you sir, this one was truly commendable! Thanks a lot!! This is certainly on it's way to millions of views.
i am someone who has died and come back.
A standing ovation speaks for itself. Amen. Very captivating style.
Wonderful perspective shift that helps us focus on our daily choices to ensure we live a life we're proud of. I'm grateful to Iman for sharing his deathbed experience and how it shaped his life. Hugely inspiring and helpful talk!
Thank You Iman for your Gift to all of us
1. Youth spend time on social media
2. Youth spend time on tv
3. Youth spend time by buying something that is not needed
Iman, this talk gave us all a lot to think about in terms of not wasting our present time...brilliant!
I wish I had lived a life true to myself
I wish I had not worked too hard
I wish I had expressed my feelings
I wish I had stayed in contact with friends
I wish I had let myself be happier
But what you can do, and what Iman is trying to prevent, is regret your mistakes after it's way past the point of being able to do something about it
I'm not telling you how to live your life, anyone who argues for their problems gets the reward of keeping them. I'd just rather prospectively regret my decisions than retrospectively regret them. No one is destined for their pain, it can be avoided. And you can help others avoid theirs too
So good and inspiring. I just turned 28 and this is what i needed. Thank you.
Am I the only one that thinks he looks like Al Pacino? Wonderful Speech too. Thanks Imam.
It just jumped out at me. I think you look like he did in his early movies. I loved the talk. May I follow you?
A breathtaking speech ..wowwwww
Im not sure I have regrets but if I had my life over I would do a lot of things differently
You have ego problems.
at the end of ours lifes we are going to ask us did we truly live ? by the otherhand hopefully many people watch this talk since its so helpful and priceless , thank you so much for sharing it
Thank you. This is one of my favorite TEDx talks ever. So important and meaningful for every one of us.
Well, in sociology, this is called retrospective illusion. The past is always necessarily a past as seen in the present moment. Even if we decide to do stuff somehow differently now, it won't prevent us from seeing it as a mistake at some point in the future.
I thought this was more a talk about prospective regret. Instead of retroactively regretting something in the past that can't be changed; like the time you didn't spend with friends and family because you were working so many hours, you think about a possible future and how you'll feel on your deathbed and how you'll feel about that
If a person can abstractly hypothesize their own future and _feel_ regret today, then they have a chance to think about changing that trajectory and actually executing that change
