They traditionally engage in activities such as hunting, gathering forest produce, and honey collection, which has earned them the nickname "Jenu Kuruba," which means "Honey Collectors" in Kannada, the local language. Honey collection is considered their primary occupation, and they are known for their expertise in traditional beekeeping methods, which involve climbing tall trees to extract honey from wild beehives.
The Jenu Kuruba tribe has a rich cultural heritage, with their unique language, art, music, dance, and folklore. They have their own traditional belief system and practice animism, worshiping natural elements and spirits. Their social structure is primarily patriarchal, with the village elders playing a crucial role in community decisions.

Adara jothege, st / jenukurubararannu promote maadalu ITDP ( integrated Tribal development program ide). Idara kelage avarige every month poustika ahara antha 25kg rice, 3 kg ghee, 2 kg pulse, 2kg green gram, 80 eggs , salt & other items, avara manege baruthe. Eega avarige borewell thegedu, pump sahitha connection kottu, sprinkler irrigation ge pipe & jet connection kottu, even pepper bidisalu, machine, koiyyalu ladder, ella kodutha iddare. Naanu same virajper tallook, & I speak jenukuruba language very well & I know this people. Eega government istu speciality kotta kaarana, only male / gandasaru 2 Dina daily wage 9 30 am t0 3 30 pm, with coffee / tea break, & breakfast / lunchbreak, around 4 hrs work, & kodaginalli minimum ₹ 600 to ₹ 1200 daily wage coffee estate alli ide, so weekly 2 days work only for drinks expense ge. Remaining all free. 90% of today generation got improved having 2 & 4 wheeler. Ur thinking is very wrong
