  • CAFS (Compressed Air Foam System) impress even in the toughest operating conditions. On the example of the poly trolley the video shows the scheme and its clear advantages: great distances and heights, safe use from a distance, easy handling and rapid position changes by lightweight hoses.

    Great production quality, wish they would stop using cheesy 80's music and narrate the benefits.

    Question: as far as domestic and industrial application is concerned, after using it how I will be able to fill air bottle to 300 bar ??
    Lot of hardware is required for that

      Dear Hassan,
      after the compressed air tank has been used, it has to be refilled with either breathing air or technical air. You can either find a local provider to do so or purchase a compressor for refilling the air tank.

    Doors open on the opposite side. Most of that stream went right through the car having very little effect. I have out a lot of fire with CAFS... that was a horrible demo of a very capable system.

      People evacuating their vehicles should be more considerate and close the doors behind them.

    This is what Australia needs, quick response vehicles equipped with this instead of a slow brush truck

      Depends on the fire dude... i'd hate running the logistics for these systems on a strike team myself. Also the more complicated a system is the more likely of failure points.
      There is something to be said for the KISS prinicple :)

    So how is this more effective than a water attack, I don't see it.

    • @RosenbauerGroup
      @RosenbauerGroup  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alan,
      when foaming one water drop is split over several foam bubbles whereby a bigger surface for the heat absorption is made. Additional the compressed air foam sticks on the fire material and enables a continuous heat absorption. Thereby much of the water which is bounded in the compressed air foam can be made to evaporate and therefore the fire material is maximum cooled. Through the evaporation of the water the oxygen is displaced from the fire material. Furthermore, a separation layer between fire material and oxygen is created by the on the fire material sticking compressed air foam. Thereby the oxygen supply of the fire source is optimal interrupted. The water can penetrate the fire material deeper because of the high discharge speed of the compressed air foam and the reduction of the surface tension by the added foam concentrate.
