I’ve been trying to slowly improve my rapping since I was 16 and it’s been my dream since forever. I’m now 18 and am hoping to go to the studio and finally make my first song, you have helped a lot to improve my voice. Thank you.
Best decision you can ever make is to get your own studio. A lot of these "engineers" are scammers. They know how to record but can't mix and actually add anything to your sound.
My delivery and adjusting my words stressed syllables and unstressed syllables and more on my rhyme scheme and vocabulary and more creativity can you put the link the ones I should listen to on here
Mixture of accents makes it unique I like that. People always say either I love your voice or that they've never heard anyone with a similar voice (regular convos). I've been told "rappers ego" shows in delivery on some of my stuff Probably the breath and just trying it out more adjusting pitch would be the weak spots.
I realised when i first started recording myself, the way i sounded over the mic didn't have the bass in my voice people naturally hear when I speak. I found that I could intentionally deepen my RECORDED TONE by putting some gruff in my voice as I record. Though it sounds, to someone listening, like I'm trying too hard, the end audio result sounds the way people naturally hear my voice The added bonus to doing this, is that the content of my lyrics, as well as my writing style, allows me to add the gruff when not recording and it still sounds proper to the listener The only all-around advice i could give that ANYONE can benefit from is this: INTENT. Spit every single word with the intent that every single word is important. Even if your voice doesn't sound the way you want, nobody will pay attention to it if their attention is being placed on what you are saying vs the voice saying it
Yo that's mad bro. It really helped. Also if you wanna use a bit of machinery behind your voice for you confidence I think its fine as long as you got bars. Like u said it's about what you're saying not how u say it but obviously the delivery and breathing matters. That's just what I tell myself

Direct monitoring is when you can hear your voice in your headphones while you're recording. The value of direct monitoring is that you get INSTANT feedback while you're singing, and that means you can play around and adjust your voice and make corrections every quarter-second or so, which gives you tremendously more adjustment power than if you were to record a 30-second vocal take and then listen to it back. Continuous adjustments, it's like 50 times more powerful than recording, playing back, and adjusting. If you have direct monitoring in your home studio, you can practice this much more often (everyday) than if you just go to the professional studio once or twice a month. In order to get direct monitoring without any DAW delay at all, you will need an XLR mic connected to an audio interface and to plug your headphones into your audio interface. My second piece of advice is for people who feel like their voice sounds too nasally. Aside from making sure to blow your nose, the overwhelming cause of having a nasally voice is that you have a low-riding soft palette (the soft part of the roof of your mouth, above the mid-rear of your tongue), and you need to raise it to make your voice less nasally. The way to practice this is basically to look at your soft palette in a mirror and try to raise it and observe when you are raising it, to intentionally speak in a nasally voice to build a conscious association between low palette and the voice, and then try to intentionally raise your palette. You will need to continually practice your conscious control of your soft palette for a long time. It's like controlling your kegel muscles or suppressing a sneeze -- it's pretty hard to consciously do and takes practice. Third, this isn't voice-related, but does have to do with what you said about breathing. When you write lyrics, you should write them specifically to the beat; and furthermore, you should write them fully in-context. That means, don't just listen to the beat, "got it," and then write lyrics. Write each lyric to the specific section of the beat where you're going to be spitting it, and practice reciting the whole verse in order to see where you're running out of breath or where you have too many syllables in a particular bar. Re-write as needed so that you feel like you aren't forcing the lyrics to fit the beat, aren't struggling to catch your breath, etc. If your verse lengths aren't lining up with exactly how long the verse section of the beat is, if it feels like the chorus part of the beat is overlapping with the end of your last verse bar... you should've wrote that verse while listening to exactly that part of the beat so that you would know that there was no time left.

@Alia Dolka also it sounds like to me the beat may be a lil to fast for your lyrics... you may have to try some breathing exercises and in corporate that into wat you doing breathing through your nose and out your mouth is a great exercise u can start with that until u figer it out and find you own.. So are you a fast rapper or do rap melodicaly.. 135bpm is a good beat to flow to..because you could rap fast or with the beat.. My Music voice can improve dramatically, well more so on the deliverance. I feel I need to be a little bit more witty with my tone. Making it even more authentic , while being more gravitating. The more I’ve been outside the booth, I take a heavy notice in its not what you say, it’s how you say it! Simple Fact, but we take for granted how everything in rap has been recycled vocal wise, so the weight of deliverance and tone is MAJOR! I also noticed in the few songs I’ve created, the concept of the song organically changed the emotional dialect in my vocals. Taking advantage of that , can become a skill of mine. Also this video is byfar the most prominent one I have viewed on this amazing channel. Finding your voice not only in music but in LIFE itself, is vital. Appreciate it! Subscribe to my channel for New Music!

My first piece of advice may not fit every budget, but it's that "direct monitoring" can improve your rap voice.
I tried so many voices, and took a whole spiritual journey or smthg and found a voice to make my voice deep. But even that wasn’t good cuz it just made me sound like I was whispering. So I just rapped with my gut and it just worked. That final change happened today btw
Hey I have a question!! Do you have a Instagram or Anything I could text you on?
@@shamyareid5025 Not at the moment but i"m in the process of making one so I'll let you know
VIV okay

We all gonna be better, it starts now i started taking this shit serious 2 years ago yeah i freestyle with my friends at parties and shit, but that never had substance or went anywhere, I found making music is actually deeper, & much harder than just finding a beat on TH-cam and rapping i think my voice definitely needs some work
Nice to watch a video that isn't click bait, kudos brother
Thanks!
when i started writing music, I got influenced with rap bcos of how catchy rhyming the words, but I noticed I sound like a baby tryna rap bhjdhssf so I went all lofi indie, andddd im here since ive been rlly vibing to rich brian and i just sound bad rapping his songs
This is awsome!!! Thanks! I'm writing a rap dedecated to my mother who is struggling for me to get an education and be someone in life! I just pray she lives longer so that i can repay her! Thats the chorus of the song and a prayer!
Edit: Also if you have any beats that might fit this category please tell me! Thanks!
good looks g, keep spreading love

Man I've been watching your videos for a while now, I appreciate what you do, have a good night 🙏
I needed that .
My voice is kinda deep when I’m speaking normally. But as soon as I rap my voice sounds high af
Thats a confidence thing
Same
In my 47 years, i truly believe DMX had the best voice, Rakim had the best flow, Nas had the best delivery. Big Pun had the best breath control.
s/o from BR,LA big dog. Good stuff.
Video changed my life bro
Haha glad to help!
Subscribed based on the passion for the music. He had the chair agreeing the whole time🤣🤣
Love the Real Slim Shady beat
Banger as usual Drew thank you I need to work on breathing and i think I'm strong with my emotion
Fa sho Phoenix thanks for watching
You are great at analogies they really drive the message home
Thanks Andrew!
I love you, man. God bless your soul!!!

I'm most impressed with my lyrics they have improved a lot since I started rapping, but my voice and flow needs work especially my flow
Try coming up with a flow first, in freestyle form just talking gibberish until you find a flow, then write lyrics using that flow
I'll be sure to practice this, thanks for the video. 👍🏽
You sound really good, even when you're only talking 😂
I started rapping.
My throats hurts after rapping for awhile.
But i will continue to practice
please subscribe 🥰
That's how you get good!
You are awesome 🔥
Thanks Peter!
Thank you so much Drew. I'm an author working on a project where each book will come with an original rap album and I am very nervous about recording.
This makes me so much more confident
Nice!
Can you feature my artist
Can you???
Rapping has been my dream but am not good in putting words in the right place an using my voice I hope I will be help by you
My Music voice can improve dramatically, well more so on the deliverance.
Appreciate it!

ayyy, this guy is my hero, when yall are like bieber is your hero,i say he is my hero, but i go one question, what about us guys that just healed from asthma so our breath is timed
and yes you can heal from asthma, just give it time
Real helpfull my guy, keep it up
Best lessons out here
Thanks. I really like the way u teach us. Atleast there z a big hope to improve
Glad to hear that!
My only problem is trying to find a unique sound in my voice. When I do it natural in the type of genre I'm going for I feel like I sound like the artist I listen to on a daily bases but I guess that's something most pursuers go through. I just gotta keep having at it until I'm finally acquainted with the voice/flows I want.
ive been rapping since I was 14 im 20 now but at like 16 I stopped rapping and I feel like I still sound the same but atleast I can make more unique bars tho and be more creative since I have more life experience and character development
Bro thanks for sharing your information motivates and inspire us 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for watching Bhupesh!
Thank you this was helpful. As a young female, I am proud of having a tenor voice. I don't like how my voice sounds though, I don't think it sounds good but it's getting better!
Really helpful video man! Keep it up! :)
Thanks Simone!
Nice vide very helpful but it should have examples like give a clearer sample of what you taking about
Wow writing in my breaths! Never thought of that. Thanks man!
No doubt Elijah!
Man I really feel like you could have been talking about puppies or telling a story and I would still feel more confident about rapping and freestyling afterwards lol. You just have a really noticeable confidence about you. Thank you for making this video. Coming from a begginer who decided to try transition from poet to rapper, It's refreshing to see people like yourself encouraging people to get better instead of spreading hate and dissent. I freestyle all day long but my confidence isn't solid yet. I kinda freeze up a bit when other people are listening. I have lots of material but no songs, just puzzle pieces that haven't formed a picture yet if you know what I mean. Thank you again for the vids. :)
I’ve been rapping for over a year almost two and I started with watching your videos and they helped me so much!
Do you have a video that teaches how to start a song? That's where I struggle most, is the first few bars to get it started.

I feel like you should be able to hear your regular voice in your rap voice. Biggest thing I learned.
Underrated comment. Just *speaking* your raps and not trying to put on anything is a great place to start.
I love this channel
Thanks!
i dont like my voice now when i rap i just started rapping for fun a few months ago, but i trust the process i think that in a few months or a year i can be better
Soo good! Thank you 😊
Tysm for helping us all u should be a legend one day i swear

Kobe!!! you're alive!!!
Haha RIP to the homey
Besides the comment about pre writting your breaths needs which was ingenious, but just really learning to love or even like my voice is a biggie for me. But im not gonna throw in the towel just yet. Thank you
Thanks for viewing and commenting Myesha!
