aibo is meant to be a dog for people who can't have dogs. like people who are too old to manage it, or can't afford it, or live in a place where it simply isn't an option, aibo can be a great alternative.
Right. Older people have a hard time feeding and caring for a dog, especially one that collects fleas every time it goes outside. Ugh.
I dont have an aibo and i am not allowed a dog so i got a robot dog i really recommend a robot to help u out. (it helped me)

@@hariprakashnarayanan8814 First of all, Aibos costs down to $700 used and in perfect shape. And even new, they still cost less than pure companion dogs. In addition, you don't have to feed an Aibo. You clearly don't understand how insanely expensive dog food is. And don't forget about veterinarian bills.
@@hariprakashnarayanan8814Idk man my dog eats a 60$ bag of food once a month. Needs regular vaccinations. Her nail shattered and the vet bill was about 400$ at this point shes only 3 years old and much more expensive than an Aibo.

Unnecessary. Aibo has AT&T wireless communication. Wherever there is an AT&T or compatible cell tower, Aibo will keep a connection.

No robot can ever beat the love and loyalty of the dog toward his/her master
They should have given the option for a "fur" model on the Aibo for those wanting something a lot less android-ish. Or a version with puppy like eyes/paws.
That wouldn’t be possible, the fur would get inside the joints of the robot, clogging them and making the robot unable to move.

Very good Doggo loyalty and friendship are all perceived things that the human mind try’s to define. It can and will be able to be programmed into machines and AI will eventually be able to express these traits. I for one have a real dog and love him but saying they can’t emulate these things is incorrect
poor aibo when whining finally gave me some sadness (I know he has no real feelings but even made me want to hug him and caress him and lola too ate sale time)

Long story short, Lola if you have a yard own your own home and have space
Aibo if you don't have a yard and don't own your own home or have a landlord that doesn't allow dogs.

Some elderly people or people with disability's cannot own a Real Dog and some People cannot afford to pay thousands of Dollars on Dogs. My Sister doesn't have a dog anymore cause it brutally killed by something in the backyard and is too much a heart break to want to own a real dog. Also.. Yes I have had friends who spend well over $3,000 in a year on just a puppy dog. Especially if the dog becomes seriously sick. So yeah Robots Win Sadly.

I found out about this a few months ago and I’m definitely gonna get one. Way cheaper than the Maltese I wanted plus u don’t have to buy food, pay for grooming, vet bills etc. Also better for people that are ESPECIALLY in an apartment. When I move I don’t need to pay to deep clean an apartment or pay for pet deposit and pet rent.
The one thing a robot dog can't do is love you back. You live in an apartment with a dog, there's two of you. Live in an apartment with an aibo, you're still alone.

@@Randomguy-wd5lw some dogs attack their owners and don't listen, get loose and attack people. Without proper training, a dog can turn into a major liability and not a loyal companion. I watch a lot of dog training videos. a LOT can go wrong. Obviously not the dogs fault though.

Why most people get a pet is affection and companionship. My dog knows when I am happy or sad, she comes to me to be petted when I am sad. My dog alerts me when someone is on my property and doesn't have to be "hooked up" to electricity to keep on, keeping on. He said it in the video, one is a "toy" the other is a companion.

Benefits of real dogs:
Playful
Fast and energetic
Had true feelings and needs to be taken care of with your true heart
The bad thing:
You need to clean its poop
You can't leave it alone for a long time
Can be noisy at some times and you need to be real patient.
Benefits of robot dogs:
Can be brought everywhere
Leaving it alone for a long time doesn't matter
You can tell it to shut up one time and it will stop
The bad thing:
Replace the expensive batteries
Slow to react and slow at running
Doesn't feel like you get the love from the dog
Your Aibo might be playful, fast and energetic, if you interact with it just right.
Also, Aibo can recharge.
The ability to run is limited, but as technology advances, Aibo will be able to run fast.
I believe sometime in the future it will be possible to simulate exactly how Lola the puppy acts but in a robotic canine. With Boston dynamics excelling with balance and quadrupedal locomotion (and other advances in tech), I’m sure it’s not too far away now to see what was thought as sci-fi to come to life. ( also don’t forget Disney’s highly realistic robot of an avatar which has incredible life like facial motions and upper body motions.)
Yeah but thats not the point. the robot just has prerecorded animations and conditions. Make it so that the robot dog can construct its own animations and make its needs/conditions to be met and i would buy it.

I´m fascinated by Aibo but it´s a pretty expensive toy and i guess its lifespan is much shorter than the puppy´s.

I agree! I remember a report i´ve seen on TV about homes for elderly people in Japan which showed robots and other Artificial Intelligence being used for emotional purposes. But Japan is very special and i have serious doubts this will come to western countries in the nearer future. Comparing this toy to a real puppy is of course just a joke.
The past aibos are almost older than the average dog lifespan and still going, I'd say very close to a dog! Both very good options

It's not always cost but the relation and emotions we share with pets going forward they become loyal family members. Which I don't think can be replaced anytime soon with the robots.
