    Hey! This is a great way to learn the Present Perfect!
    One thing for students to remember is this; We use the PRESENT PERFECT when we want to talk about an action that has happened ANYTIME before the present. For the SIMPLE PAST we talk about an action that happened at a SPECIFIC point in time (NOT ANYTIME).
    E.g PRESENT PERFECT - I have never been to England (ANYTIME in my life) vs PAST SIMPLE - I went to England last year (Last year = specific time).
    We can also use the present perfect to talk about actions that have happened many times in the past. E.g I have been to England 3 times. (In my life).

    I am an English teacher and also native speaker who has been working in Turkey for over couple years. Working in EFL country is a huge challenge to kids who doesnt get explosed to English other than school. I’m frasturated and lost hope.

    Excellent explanation; clear and concise! That is actually how I explain the Present Perfect Simple to my students as well 😁
    I have a theory: I feel like one of the reasons why this tense is so difficult to learn is because, a lot of the times, the present result/consequence of the so-called past actions or events is not explicitly stated in the sentence. Saying “I’ve lost my keys” forces the student to simultaneously consider so many things in their short-term memory: the connection between the past and the present, the verb forms, imagining the present result, etc. I have found that when I add the result to the sentence - I’ve lost my keys and now I can’t get into my house - that helps the students to understand the tense a little bit better. I also use timelines for those people who are visual learners, so to speak.
    Once again, really good video! Thanks! 😁

    • @lilia8436
      @lilia8436 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      « Wish » is like when you wanna say something that you really want. (Used as a verb) (Exemple : « I wish I was born in the USA »)
      Means I would have wanted to be born in the US. (Use this word in using preterite)
      You can also employ it on saying something nice (Exemple : I wish you a merry Christmas)
      Also means something that you want used as a household word. (Exemple : She told me to make a wish)
      Ps : My English isn’t so good

    please tell us " what is the different between stative verbs and action verbs " if can anyone help me about this topic please write to me here ♥️

    • @lilia8436
      @lilia8436 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Can you do the action of « To be » ? Stative verbs are verbs that you can’t physically do, or in motion. In contrast to (exemple : « To drink »), you can do this physically. (Another stative verb : « To look like »)

    • @alrightyenglish9682
      @alrightyenglish9682 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A stative verb describes a state not an action. For example the verb LOVE describes how a person feels.
      A dynamic/action verb expresses physical action. It tells us what the subject is physically doing. For example, the verb WALK is expressing physical movement.
