I built a '74 Hatchback in High School(81). Bought a Doug Thorley V8 kit that came with engine mounts, transmission mount, and headers for $150.00 I wish I could find a "vega wagon" today! 😎
May I make a suggestion for your sweet ride? Get rid of the cheap flat flex fan before it overheats. Convert the belt system to a serpentine setup. It'll need the water pump too. Add an electric fan setup. Gives you more room up front.
I do need to ditch the flex fan. It’s remarkably loud! No serpentine setup though - it doesn’t suit my desire to keep the car like the V8 Vega I would have had in high school. Thanks for watching!
Wow, haven't seen one of these since the 70s, I was just a kid but I remember, being a lifelong car guy. Love the V8 in this. A true unicorn.

GM started hanging big clunky bumpers on them in 74
Both of my prior Vegas were 71s. For many years I didn't like the '74+ front end but it has grown on me in recent years.
