the strings in this certianly speak to a lost world and midway w the precusi on, a glimpse into what it might have been then a deep minor string rejoiner..How can one not weep at such a loss? Even if it never was.
The music reminds me of a distant past, lost splendor and desolation, of lost dreams. In a way, the hero, the player, who visits the ruins, is visting his own past; memories the players has which are becoming more faded and opaque as time progresses, a feeling of nostalgia and longing. The song plays where the LoD expansion intro video took place, where the Barbarian emissary stood alone, resolute against Hell. Really neat they put this into the game.
It's a beautiful music, and has some athmosphere of Diablo 2 Act V. I would be delighted to see also version with few, shorted themes instead of one long - it would be just easier to listen. :)
Holy hell. This is absolutely amazing - there's interesting harmonic ideas and a lot of timbral variation. It's a shame Diablo 3 was such a mediocre game because its soundtrack was clearly made with love.
Can you point me on where in the game files i can find that music? Im browsing through them right now, and the only thing I found are .mus files, which are 3kb each. I really need to get these out.
5:17 is probably the best song in the game.
completelly agree ^^
It ain't Matt Uelmen, but the Diablo 3: RoS music team did a fantastic job.
tbh this is like, much better than the official ost, reaper of souls saved diablo 3 HARD

15:50 the sad tune that got stuck in my head, all those ghost wandering around
Something I noticed about playing 4 so far is there is no area that’s made me stop and just enjoy the music like the first 3 games.

Sounds a lot like Skyrim's night themes
Rungle Master, Leoric, Urzael, ROS credits' music and this one are the best soundtracks of Diablo 3 imo.

+cosmonaut005 It DOES, now that you mention it - and the themes in Grizzly Hills were among my favorites from Wrath of the Lich King.
