So very many tutors in this game, they are powerful but I don't play many. I like the variance.
Yeah, me too! Just built Agatha as well (and to my shame, I missed the synergy with Diviner's Wand, d'oh!), but I didn't build it as a combo engine but as a +1/+1 counters deck where the activated abilities mainly are endgame payoffs. Hydra Broodmaster is hillarious with her, and especially in combination with the Cauldron :D
My Agatha is about making infinites then casting a storm/paradox spell!
Nothing against the Hilda player but holy shit does that deck seems awful to play against lol😅

Winter orb and counter balance don't fit the theme and are just annoying af. I play Hylda full synergy. It runs smooth and is not too oppressive. Enough to refrain the opponents from attacking me and building my army behind some walls.
That's why I want to build it
It can be oppressive as shit depending on how ya build it. I built it as an anti combat phase deck, so what isnt spent tapping is slots dedicated to turning off units like kikki jikki and the praetors since my playgroup loves those
Edit: for what its worth, I usually play archenemy decks so Hilda is 100% on brand for me lmao
I like the continued downward spiral the hilda player is on.
Late on watching this game, but @8:12 since Winter Orb phases back in untapped, I think Matt should have only been able to untap a single land in this upkeep, because it phases in before you untap and you don't ever receive priority to tap it. Obviously, he could have just instead tapped it with Opposition before letting the Clever Concealment resolve, but still.
It was funny when the set got released I saw Rowan and was like this is going to be great at the table. Then I saw Hylda and was like…..never mind 😂
Rowan could definitely spread her wings at a different table, but Hylda is a hard hurdle for her at this one!
Instant speed life loss is a must for the deck.
Rowan can only activate at sorcery speed unfortunately.

@@TheDankestDungeonyou can still lose life at instant speed in response to tapping Rowan. Guarantees that you get the cost reduction unless your opponent has a stifle

Wow, that Hylda deck is toxic. No fun whatsoever. If that shit was at my table I’d make sure to run tons of removal and target the player relentlessly until they stopped playing that garbage. Was really looking forward to seeing Rowan do stuff, too. Sigh.

If im correct, you can activate rowan, and while holding priority, activate the hex parasite
The Hex Parasite is also a cost, so you can't respond before the life is gone.
