I was curious to see what would happen if I let Jameson die, and it mentally scarred me because of the dialogue that happened to play at the time. When he was two hits away from dying, I heard him yell "SPIDER-MAN" in a tone I hadn't heard prior to that point. He usually yelled it in a slightly scared tone, but that time it sounded like he KNEW he was about to die, the way he SCREAMED it. When he was one hit away, I heard him begging to Scorpion, telling him he'd do anything. And I heard Scorpion laugh and make a comment after Jameson died. I didn't feel so good about myself after that.

I've played the n64 ver. and he can (sometimes) just pass you by but you don't lose, so he keeps going a bit, but if you approach to him you'll get the losing animation.

@TitusPrime1995 I suppose you went to the presses to fight a symbiote. Luckily, I never have to deal with falling into the presses at all since I always beat the crap out of all the symbiotes in the room before they run around like crazy.
I loved this game as like a 5 year old kid but I could never complete it, monster ock just scared the shit out of me and made me not want to play the last mission, especially after that BRUTAL death scene 😂
I have a feeling he's in the game only because the developers couldn't find a way to implement Spidey running away from a wall of fire (like in the ending FMV) in a way that didn't tax the PS1 or was believable.

You kill the symbiotes at the bottom to trigger the elevator drop, not sure about it being timed though.
