Facial recognition is already being used on modern security cameras. But, they need to compare those detected faces against a global database of felons. Then, that database's server(s) must be able to process inputs from millions of cameras in real time. That has to be funded from the government's resources down to the consumers' cameras. Possible? Yes. Soon? Happening in China. Don't hold your breath in 'Merica.
