I’ve seen people put video posts on their Instagram stories and the videos would play. Idk how to explain it well but when they put video posts on their stories, the video would play. I NEED that.
when i go to appstore it says that instagram is updated to all the way so i am happy about that so i go to settings on instagram and it doesn’t have a update messages button? edit: my account is 2 years old, is that why i cant update it?

Now, I do not have a FaceBook acct, so would I still be able to use new features; or does one need a FaceBook account(which won’t ever get, as don’t like FaceBook…it’s a personal thing). Trying to find anything on TH-cam, Instagram, Google Search etc… EXPLAINING the PROs & CONs; but haven’t found anything, except how to “update to new Messenger Features”. No, you can’t get it without Facebook apparently. That’s what I’m gathering. I deleted my Facebook last year but I would never link the two. I was mad when we had to combine Google with TH-cam so I surely wouldn’t do that.

WHAT DID YOU DO THEN, don't keep the secret! On my S20 the method shown in the video doesn't work also, cuz there is no "update messenger" text in the settings..
@@mortindurrex that's what I thought then what I did was I just clicked on settings then I went all the way down and then it was just sitting there I was so relieved
This is how I fixed mine after deleting then redownloading. Press your acc picture on the right then press the three bars (left conner). Next, press settings and scroll down to accounts center, then tap on it. Once the page loads press logging across other accounts and add your Facebook account . Your messaging will then update showing the colours

In settings I found a options to remove fb profile of instagram( i made my insta by fb last year) and I do it, but still in the corner is messenger icon. But this is something cause I dont know a right way.

@@mustafaozney i had a friend with same issue.. he just took a screenshot of a DM by long pressing a chat. Then sent it to insta through "report a problem" section in settings. Try that works for you
Have you tried making a video call and then clicking on the media button second to the right in the lower right corner. And the click upgrade? May take a few hours after that. But I got Messenger doing that 🤷🏼♀️

Guysss I finally got my update after soo many months, I think if you disconnect your Instagram from Facebook through the activity center and then connect it again, the update should reach you in a week. This worked for me and I think it should work for the rest of you guys too. Thankksssss
