Shri Mahipal Singh Rathoreji, you have done a good job in presenting this rather complex subject in lucid details, in an easy to understand manner for the layman. However there are a few things I would like to point out: Study of the French Revolution is incomplete without treating the subject of the Counter-Revolutionary War by the Royalist Catholic Army of Vendée (a place in western France). The nobles of that region, particularly of Anjou, Poitou, Maine and Brittany took leading parts; their notable leaders were Cathelineau, Rochejaquelin and others. They fought brilliantly and gave a tough time to the newly formed Republic. Finally they were brutally suppressed by the Republican Army led by Westermann, Carrier and others; many innocent civilians of that area were subjected tho mass massacre by the Republican Army. This is one the dark aspects of the Revolution. Similarly the guillotining of earlier moderate revolutionaries i.e. the Girondist leaders like Brissot, Vergniaud and Madame Roland, by the extremist Jacobin faction led by Robespierre and Saint-Just is another dark aspect of the Revolution. Proper reference is to be made to the "levée en masse" (conscription), "loi de maximum" (fixing the m.r.p. of food items), "loi de suspects" (anybody could be condemned on mere suspicion). There was no mention of two other very important institutions during the rule by the Convention (1792-95) i.e. the Committee of General Security and the Revolutionary Tribunal; you made correct reference to the Committee of Public Safety though. Lastly, it was candid of you to say that since you do not know the French language, your pronunciation of some French words may not be correct. Yes it was so at many places; at some places you pronounced the correct French way though. If you want to know and edit your audio part, I can help you. About myself, I studied French History at university level, with particular reference to the French Revolution. I also know the French language, having studied and lived in France for some time. I am in regular touch with my native French friends there. So I think I am qualified enough to be in a position to cooperate with you. If you are interested, please leave a message here, indicating how I can get in touch with you by direct communication. With best wishes,
