About Arturo Márquez and the Danzón No. 2 piece
Arturo Márquez is one of the world’s most prominent and celebrated contemporary composers. His work masterfully combines classical music with traditional rhythms from Mexico, Latin America and Africa.
Danzón No. 2, the most famous of nine with that name, premiered in 1994 and quickly became the quintessential Mexican symphony. It carries a harmonic dialogue between orchestral music, Mexican ballroom dances and other popular melodies from Latin America. In 2019 it was the most frequently played classical music piece in the world.

It's important that everybody knows that the funds raised by this project will support foundations in Mexico that help women and children. So please share!
The quality of this production is outstanding! Alondra’s piano opening is poetic. And then a list of stars coming in! Thank you for making this incredible video!
Magistral y apasionada.
Argentina.
Alondra de la Parra - is, I am embarrassed to comment, so refreshingly beautiful - captivating actually. I wish I could explain why I am reacting like this. ♥♥♥♥
Very nice video
A feat in itself, for Alondra to get everyone together to pull this off. Not everyone was in the same place. The dancer had her own difficulties dancing in a small area. Everyone did a fantastic job.
I keep coming back to this video when ever I'm feeling down. How can you not smile watching these guys?
I cried.... this song gives me all the chills in the world. Im 23 yo and this song has a special place in my heart since i was 12 yo, thank you for this amazing gift. I got the chance to see Alondra in Cancun at a christmas concert 3 years ago and I felt so blessed.
It reminded me to my grandma and how much she loved to dance danzón ❤ it brought me tears of joy ❤ thank you so much for sharing your art ❤
Great project, Alondra!
Grande! Meravigliosi!👏👏❤
I have seen many versions of Danzon No. 2, and the best of all of them is far far away from this. GRACIAS ALONDRA AND FRIENDS¡¡¡¡ In the name of the women and children, and in the name of those who love music...
Magistral!!! Increíble elenco!!! 👏👏👏
Gracias Elisa, Gracias Alondra!!, Gracias Orquesta!.. SIMPLEMENTE EXTRAORDINARIO!.
Every time I hear this piece, I love it more. And now THIS.....endless love.......
Le di play porque en la miniatura se veía Alondra tocando el piano, pero toda la producción es maravillosa, además de que el proyecto es excelente. <3
This is amazing! It truly lifted me up to see so many musicians working together, having fun, giving us wonderful music when we need it most. Thank you, Alondra, and everyone who worked on this.
