Se adelanta o se atrasa? Como está eso? El director nunca se adelanta o se atrasa. Los que se atrasan o se adelantan es la orquesta. La orquesta debe seguro al director. El tiempo muchas veces se deja al criterio del director y de acuerdo al sentimiento que el director quiere emanar de la orquesta.

Being in an orchestra we are supposed to watch the conductor. Mission accomplished, I couldn't take my eyes off her and her total engagement with the piece and the orchestra.

While that may be the case for Western Classical and European music, music with more complex rhythm/s like Stravinsky or Marquez is more challenging for orchestras as a whole.

You can really tell by Alondra's facial expressions and body language in her conducting that she truly feels this piece in her soul. She has a fantastic mastery of conducting and understanding of the piece, bravo!

I disagree, she isn't really conducting. If you look closely, none of the musicians are even watching her because of the 'expressive conducting'. It may look fancy, but in all reality it is useless.

I start my day with this piece, since last week of discovery.
I am same age as Arturo, 70.
As an American, I am proud of her being even associated with our country for a time. We owe so much to Mexico and its culture. She is an artist, and her canvas is the orchestra. What I have seen of her work has been bringing American (all American) work to life. Maybe, as a country, we can someday again be worthy of the joy and spirit of that music.
Jerre, Alondra de la Parra, should govern the US, not the creepy 'men' who mess up everything and hate Mexico and the people.

I've discovered this piece about a month ago and I can't stop listening to it. It has become my 'go to' piece when my soul aches. It is my mind's "aspirin " and the dose depends each time but it always - always works. I feel elevated; my soul flies to the clouds of the most beautiful morning. Alondra is incredible 🎼
