I might get one of these for the front yard for some bling, but I can't justify getting two of them for front and back. My house faucets are definitely in need of replacement though- yet another neglected segment that none of the former owners wanted to address.
I had 1/4 turn frost free faucets at the old house, and once I figured out that the hoses are supposed to be disconnected and drained at the end of the year, I never had any problems with them.

@ 1:43 pro tip. Thread tape is directional. always wrap the tape in the same direction around the threads as you would turn a nut to tighten it. Great content though.

Your existing spigot/sillcock was a frost-free type. Looks to be 10-12 inch type, which means the water was held back from the outside by 10-12 inches when turned off. You would never have had a freeze issue. Then you replaced it with a new 4-6 inch type. It looked like the end of the new fitting was nearly within the wall cavity. You basically cut the freeze protection in half.
As for the Aquar, I've seen this product many times before. For me, if falls into the "if it ain't broke" category. Good idea, but is it really needed if you already have frost-free sillcocks? You have two new detachable pieces to lose. The pieces are proprietary and you'd likely need one for each sillcock. They are also made of plastic. Metal hose thread to plastic adapter seems like a recipe for damage from cross-threading. Lastly, while you could leave the adapter attached to the hose (so you don't lose it), it does have two O-rings which are easily damaged. Damaged O-rings would mean sillcock leaks right by the foundation.

I don’t think these are a wise investment for long term use. It’s neat now, but the longevity of the company needs to be taken into consideration when they have a specialized connector. The regular spigots are very universal. Breaking those plastic pieces or seeing the sun dry them out over time is not something I’d look forward to. Just get an all brass quick connect adaptor system and it’ll work for years and years with the normal spigots.

Fair points 👍 we will see. It seems to be pretty solid plastic and if someone is organized shouldn’t be hard to keep track of, especially the straight one I intend to keep attached to the hose link hose reel that I’ll be leaving at this house anyway. I installed this on one at my current house to test for building my house, have had it in for a little while before posting the vid and so far so good so I plan on putting them on the new house 👍 we will see

@@TheLawnWhisperer Good stuff man and you’re right, just because I don’t like it doesn’t mean others can’t. Appreciate the content. My biggest issue? I’m not trusting the tension that can happen on a faucet when a hose is maxed out to a plastic insert fitting. They look awesome, don’t get me wrong. But to have to deal with the fittings, losing them, strength, the fact you don’t use the hose in the winter anyway and can just turn the water off. It’s like they tried to fix/enhance something that wasn’t broken. Either way you’re right. You like em, go for it. Thanks again for the content, seriously. I enjoy the videos.
