    Makita makes a tiny little adapter which fits into the 'bowl' on the bottom of the chuck and adapts to a 9mm offset: P/N A-44672

      I discussed it in a couple of previous videos. The adapter can be found on Amazon Japan for just over $1. It works correctly and makes the Japanese tools compatible with the European standard E6.

    The white background and very strong lighting on your videos makes me feel like it's all a weird dream!
    - last night I had this weird dream where I was flying in the clouds and then this guy explained Japanese hex bits in great detail...
    - was it heaven?!?!?

    You could drill a hole and tab a thread into the cutoff...if it gets stuck, you could insert a screw and pull it out.

    The part your looking for is Makita Bit Piece 322279-6

  • @DMZ984
    @DMZ984 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    If you cannot get the Makita "bit piece" 322279-6, a 1/4" or 6mm steel ball out of largish bearing also works well with a bit of high temp grease to hold it in place if necessary.

      Thanks for the tip. You inspired me that some copper tube crimp beads may also work here. It's hollow and can be taken out easily.

    I’m the one that suggested the cutting and using it as a spacer because I’ve done it. Have some faith in me lol cut it take a file to the whole thing to get any burrs or snags off it and done. I’m telling you one little downward shake with collar pulled out and she will come right out. Love your vids.

    I've had issues using western bits in the Japanese impact driver. the ball-baring detent that holds the bit in was holding the bit in but if I moved the impact driver so the bit would be facing downwards it would fall out.

    Great videos, am an Australian living in the Philippines. I have bought two JDM Makita's.
    Am looking for 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm etc.. impact bit set. Have a few Vessel on the way thanks to you but the smallest I see is 1.5mm. Is there any other brands with a long shank. It's mostly for RC use, Helicopters, and land vehicles.

    Just FYI... Some JDM Makita tools made in Japan come in multiple colors not just purple. I have a black one. You can get them in blue, red, yellow and olive green too.

      Some come in pink and white. There been limited edition gold versions too. Makita will actually make any colour you want, if you order 100 units (so I've heard).

    Any thoughts?

    • @bzeug

      Hmm, I don't have any Japanese nut drivers yet. I might have to look into that. VESSEL has some interesting products like this set (amzn.to/3Ubvp28) but I wonder about TONE and KTC.

    Anyone aware if the ball joint in the JD series impact drivers ware out faster with the use of a 9mm offset adapter and American bits than with ones ordered from Japan?

    It seems in Europe we also using the longer (JDM) version, just measured my impact drill chuck length and it was 28.2 mm from the entrance.

    • @bzeug
      @bzeug  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What brand power tool are you measuring? Are you sure it locks onto the Japanese 13mm anvil bits?

    • @mcst6969
      @mcst6969 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bzeug it was a makita clone (got it for free). No I do not, I do not have such jdm bits.
      I will check it later.

    • @mcst6969
      @mcst6969 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Now, I did checked it. I measured a double ended bit and it was 10mm(ph2). The confusion was caused that I measured the full length of the bit head before(14.4mm) and not from the shoulder of the bit. I only realized that after your second video about this subject (makita chunk for the E6 bits) where you showed the makita catalog of the m-b43 bit head. How the manufacturer measure such thing.
      I also have an original makita long bit(150 mm) what has a 9.33mm end, what has a 2.7mm play in the chunk, so this two reason played into the wrong deduction.
      _Technically the jdm bit would go in the chunk, but wont lock in (properly), but I don't have one to test it._

    How about a cut and beveled threaded rod coupling nut tossed on a mini-lathe, so you can thread in a screw to pull it out?
    I like unusual problems, so I'm definitely the guy to stick something in there and then problem solve. I'm shocked I don't have kids.

  • @bradl2636

    I don't understand how an E6 bit can get stuck in the JIS 13mm chuck...

    • @bzeug
      @bzeug  ปีที่แล้ว

      When the locking BBs have to take all the impact, I suspect over time they deform and jam. I am not sure, but when the bit isn't hit on the end of the anvil and all down force is on the BBs it just doesn't seem like it will last long working that way.

      You might try ebay. Those sellers are Japanese and will ship from Japan. These are Japanese Domestic Market products, you have to get them from Japan. VESSEL does have a USA product line, those links are in the video description.
