    Great Video, great ideas . But one point scared the hell out of me was the comment of coasting ie out of gear. In gear and slowing up earlier to situation is a better way of driving. As you said, take your time.
    Other than that one point great video of information. Thanks

    At 8:20 Keeping it in gear shuts off the injectors (fuel), coasting does not, it's as simple as that.

      don't forget coasting is illegal...

    You mentioned the ACSI sites, we have just arrived at Camping Bagatelle in Avignon (11th Sept) not pre booked, 4 nights paid for 3. Very worth while joining if one plans an extended trip in Europe.

    Fuel efficient driving certainly saves, the previous owner of our Rollerteam MH managed an average 26.8 MPG over 21k miles, so far, 2 years in, we are getting 34.4 having done 10k miles or an extra 110 miles on a tank of diesel.

      That is a good point which many don't bother to learn, Luckily as an ex truck driver, The company I worked for had a contract with Scania they sent a training team over to teach us how to get the best MPG, The driving Technic was very different than normal driving, but it increases MPG by 10% to 15%, My wife has never been able to match my MPG or anyone else,

    Hi Cat, we visited France again this year for 9 weeks and what we found it was masivly cheaper than the UK including ferry fares staying on sites for 1 week at a time average £107 per week over the 9 weeks inc electric June to Mid August and using site electric and cheaper ferry crossings only used 1 bottle gas 6 kilo. In UK site fees would have been around £250 - 300 a week people in France very friendly compared to Macron !

    Love the information you always give, just a question about Eurotunnel travel as never used it before, what do you recommend for return trip booking, do you just do outgoing then book when your ready to return or book a leave and return trip at the same time? Sorry not really relevant to the video.

    • @WanderingBird
      @WanderingBird  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We rarely have a return trip booked. They don’t care so much for motorhomers

    Thanks Kat. I have a question about your recipes - some of them contain meat. I’m guessing these are for when you’re in the UK rather than in Europe? Just planning for our next European trip and what I don’t understand is whether it’s only uncooked meat you can’t take or any meat product. What’s your experience?

    • @WanderingBird
      @WanderingBird  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, but you can buy meat in Europe & use that in the recipes. You don’t need to take it with you

      @@WanderingBird 🤣 yes I realise meat can be bought in Europe. I probably didn’t phrase my question very well/thoroughly as I was also thinking of pre-prepared meals e.g. leftover/tinned curries for easy meals after travel days.

    Water....1litre = 1kg
    So if you're going wild camping, then fill up with water near the destination site....rather than carry a full tank for the entire journey.
