    Morning Kat, hope your fella is bouncing back well,
    One other thing I think that might be worth mentioning in any future European vids is that if you are a Blue Badge holder, this will usually negate tolls in most Countries, although there are still a couple of that are still sat on the fence about it (France being one of them) in which case a call to the embassy of that country is recommended 😊👍🏻

    Nearly forgot… I used to pass a forgotten triangle every day on the A17 in Belgium until I stopped early one morning for it, still got it years later!
    I don’t know about every bulb, my headlights have built in bulbs and I am NOT going to pay for two of those to carry with me on the off chance I may need one. Some good info on here.

    • @WanderingBird
      @WanderingBird  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, the built in bulbs are a pain. But they are (hopefully!) more reliable too.

    Hi Kat
    If you travel to the EU yearly call into a local vet and ask them to give your dog a EU passport, we got our dog done in Spain in Manilva and is now registered with Seville as a Spanish dog so no more AHC for him
    Ps.. I have heard that the French vets can be a bit non helpful especially nearer Calais so maybe try further south but Spain no problem,
    really nice vet up the road from La Bella vista
    Great tips we have just bought a new to us Moho coming from a caravan (scary)
    Keep up the good work
    Take care

    If you get a Revolut card for Europe you don’t get charged for using it and you can take cash out of the bank with no fee. Easy app on phone and juts transfer cash (also free) from your UK bank account. The card costs £5 and you can set it up on Apple Pay also. Use that in Europe instead of our UK cards as it is decidedly cheaper.

    Thanks Kat.... very informative.
    Wow....it's a real headache along with the rest of the things to organise.
    However personally I'm going to stick with the UK for a while anyway before venturing abroad...😁

    Hi Kat, great video, hope hubby is recovering well. Just a question re your comment on tolls and being over 3.01m. Is that length or height? Or have I misunderstood? I think my car is longer than 3.01m ☺️

    Hi. You’ve got us thinking now!! We go to Spain in our VW T5 campervan this week and have campingaz R907 (blue cylinder) in our van. We assumed you can just rock up at a supplier in Spain and pay to exchange it for a full one - we assumed the screw fitting on the top was universal. Are you saying in your video that Spain requires us to buy an adapter /pig tail to use any canisters we buy in Spain? A speedy answer would be amazing please as we would have to get a wiggle on to buy one before we sail on Thurs!
    Hope hubby is resting and recovering well.

    • @WanderingBird
      @WanderingBird  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep- you will need a Spanish pigtail. I wouldn’t wait to get to Spain though- grab one from a caravan shop here before you go. I’ll drop a link to the gas video so you can see what we mean…

    When we go to Europe this summer, what is the correct spot on our motorhome to place the UK sticker? never had a problem in the past, but just wondering if there is a required place on the van, also the new video is really interesting

    Hi Kat - lots of useful tips there. I've bought a second hand motorhome (just under 6m length) with a bike carrier fitted. We will not be taking bikes so rack not folded out. Do we still need the red and white load sign when going to France? Getting mixed messages when asking friends.

    • @WanderingBird
      @WanderingBird  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Technically, yes, because you have something on the back of your motorhome which makes it longer than the normal size. In practice, many motorhomes don’t use one for just a rack, but to stop you worrying either remove rack or grab a board. X

      @@WanderingBird Thanks for both swift response and info. Have decided to buy one. For £10 + postage it's not too bad for peace of mind. I will be interested to see how things have changed since post Brexit as used to pop over to France several times a year. : )

    Hi great video very informative,just a quickie we have a scooter rack on the back of the MH and I have purchased the red and white overhanging load sign. Can that go on the MH back or does it need to be attached to the scooter which will have a cover over it? 😎🏍

    • @WanderingBird
      @WanderingBird  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It needs to be attached on the thing which is overhanging. In this case, on the scooter or scooter rack. Safe travels!

    Motorhome driving will be financially un viable I would have thought? Over 2 euros/litre so sort of 45 euros every 100km? A trip through France could easily cost 1000€ with road tolls.. Add vehicle depreciation/insurance/servicing and then campsite charges.. How can going buying and going by motorhome be worth doing?
    Carrying replacement bulbs may be obligatory but as most new vehicles are LED and can not be changed out at the side of the road..
    All these country rules just make the whole idea of motorhome driving a non starter...
    Just to say that the French and most countries do not regularly check drivers... I have lived in France and drive regularly in other countries.. I have been checked twice in 20 years...

    Passport info is incorrect. You are jot required to have a six month buffer.

    • @WanderingBird
      @WanderingBird  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope, but many countries in the Schengen area operate a 3+3 rule, meaning they prefer you to have at least 3 months left after your 90 days expire. Which is pretty much 6 months. Good habit to get in to anyway in case there are any issues with passport renewal.
