    Thanks Mike for the info. I know this is two years later on my comment, but I also wanted to add that the list of sensors and telescopes can be edited to delete all of the populated list when first downloading the program. That way you only have your cameras and telescopes on the list, saving the scrolling through a bunch of choices that you don't need. Very slick. I have been using Stellarium for a while but had not been taking advantage of these options. I always just went to Telescopious for my scope and sensor views but this is a pretty cool function on Stellarium. Thanks for the video tutorial ! Cheers from Moab Utah... ;-)

    Wow the program allows artwork displayed on the constellations . These features can be a bit overwhelming but awsum to see on your desk top or mobile device .
    What a great feature for astro photographers to compare with 👍

    Thanks for your webinar. I was wondering what the best lenses for are taking nighttime photography on a Canon 5D Mark 111. Thank you. Would love to see more videos of this software.

    I browsed through your videos on your channel but I didn't come across any for the mobile app? That's what I really need help with. To plan the upcoming supermoon on August 1, 2023. Thank you. Could you also send me a link to sign up for your newsletter for your workshops in 2024?

    6.5 minutes into video you show how to hover and pull the left side bar, then selecting top button to enter our location. I was not able to do either though my landscape did match yours. Seems this step should have been at the beginning but once I can do this, I will go back to your beginning and try again. Thanks

    great video. so im curious - when a new comet is discovered, who creates that downloadable file with all the data of its orbital elements, and how accurate this data is?

    Does the newer version of Stelarium have a feature where you can switch from ground view (backyard) to being out in space? Thank you

    Hey great video but how did you get the good pics of the andromeda Galaxy and other objects to look so good in stellarium.

    How do you turn on the N, S, East and West ? I can't find it. And how do you know the stars are above your head? Thanks

    did you setup a custom background using your backyard images into Stellarium ? If so, did you personally install or do you have a recommendation on how to ?

    • @MikeShawPhotography
      @MikeShawPhotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mike, I used the default horizon. You can choose from several options in the set up window. I’m not aware of uploading your own backyard though, that sure would be cool!

    How do the lenses work, As the number goes up your view gets better or worse? eg 500 vs 200 mm lens which is better?

    • @MikeShawPhotography
      @MikeShawPhotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As the focal length increases, the field of view decreases, ie you zoom in. So a 500 mm lens will give you bigger moon than a 200 mm lens.

    This was the first space sim I've ever had. I'm still on a quest to find one that works. When I cycle through the sun then the 9 planets stellarium tells me venus is the 3rd planet (lol). I always thought earth was the 3rd planet. I have bought 4 space sims now and all of them seem to be in some kind of beta state...unfinished. I paid $49.99 for sky safari pro and it's all kinds of broken. I'm trying space engine now... wish me luck!!!
