Try to go to Algodoal (an island without cars “close” to Belém) before you leave. It’s heaven on earth. My favorite place around my old hometown of Belém. Abaetetuba (or “França” as it’s called) is also a cool place.

It’s a pity it was raining. I was at that beach and it was a great sunny day. And there was a man with his pet buffalo and you could ride it and take pictures with it. I was so impressed how tame and gentle those buffaloes are. I was talking to the buffalo owner and the buffalo was laying on the floor. Then the buffalo suddenly moved his head as if to hit me in the leg. I got scared thinking it was not liking me standing so close but the man explained it was just showing that it wanted to be pet and screeched in the head. It was like a 900kg puppy. 🐃
