To answer your question at the end about why people care about sexual orientation, I think it's rather obvious that we are human beings are wired to classify and label things. We NEED to find out about them so that we can relate better and deal with the reality of it rather than guessing or using false assumptions and end up wasting our time. If a Muslim preaching the Qur'an to you based on you having a beard and saying you were born in Pakistan, they have the wrong label in their head and are misguided. My gaydar says you are not gay, and I suspect most of those comments were from insecure poorly educated young people who only use gay slurs to insult and demean other people. Sadly there are many people in our world who do not have compassion or respect in their hearts, and we can only hope that Life teaches them that we are all one family here on little spaceship Earth, and it's better to get along in in spite of the diversity of cultures and beliefs. In my mind I KNEW that when I die, I would be in Heaven with Jesus & all my loved ones.
