Crazy to see this almost 40 years after seeing it in Disneyland as a child... it always amazes me how my mind from that age "improves" the special effects when I recall it. It was cool to see it again though.

It's been a while, but if I recall correctly the -massive- arcade was right across the street from the Captain EO theater. It was such a happenin' corner of Disneyland back in the 80's! The food court (with bands) was right around the corner, and of course Space Mountain, too.
I remember way back when this first came out over at Disneyland. We lived less than 20 minutes south from Anaheim, so we all got up really early to get over to Disneyland very early. We were a few of the first people there in line to get into the park. Once we got inside the park, we all immediately ran like bats outta hell over to the Captain EO Experience. We were among the first 60 people there, waiting for the first showing of this that day. More people showed up; we all were so excited, happy, & hyped to see this!! Once we all walked in, took our 3D glasses, found our seats, & put them on, we didn’t know what to expect; but we went along with it all. Once the crowd sat down, the video started, & we all got excited and watched this awesome movie from start to finish with such excitement. thank you for uploading this!! captain EO was my favorite part of disneyland and still is. i was so happy when they brought it back temporarily to commemorate him 😭 watching it again brings me so much joy. i just love how his powers zaps those trash people into his backup dancers, and that evil lady was getting a migraine from the music and dancing until she got zapped; michael jackson is literally so OP. the sound effects of his dancing moves are forever endearingly burned in my memory (fht-fht! fht-fht!). i miss mj so much. he was too good for this world. rest in peace, king.
I saw this at Disneyland in 1988. It had a 10,000 watt speaker system. I also saw Adventures Thru Inner Space in 1967. I've seen just about every attraction the park has had to offer. It gets better every year!

I love this so much. This entire film. I can’t help but laugh every time MJ says Hooter his voice cracks. I’ve never heard MJ’s voice do that before he’s always been so smooth.
Youngster cannot even comprehend the sock of experiencing for first time a 4D movie with polarized goggles and practical effects within the theater. I watched it during the opening year of Eurodisney. There is no substance in the plot technically and artistically the movie is awesome.
I saw it with my dad back in january 1988 (I was 15) on our trip to Florida! I loved Michael sooo much (still do), I didn’t really listened to the story because I was mesmerised by Michael's face being so close to mine!!! Remember it was in 3-D and it was like I could kiss him!!!!😂😘
My daughter still has the stuffed animals from Captain Eo. She does not keep much from childhood but she will not give up Fuzzy! She is 42. So much fun.
An absolute genius in performance! Every time I watch this film, it evokes a profound sense of nostalgia and inspiration. thank you for uploading this!! captain EO was my favorite part of disneyland and still is. i was so happy when they brought it back temporarily to commemorate him 😭 watching it again brings me so much joy. i just love how his powers zaps those trash people into his backup dancers, and that evil lady was getting a migraine from the music and dancing until she got zapped; michael jackson is literally so OP. the sound effects of his dancing moves are forever endearingly burned in my memory (fht-fht! fht-fht!). i miss mj so much. he was too good for this world. rest in peace, king.
We are just another part of you Michael. REST IN POP
One of the best mj movies 😎😊
amazing Michael Jackson captain eo
I saw this at Disneyland in 1988. It had a 10,000 watt speaker system. I also saw Adventures Thru Inner Space in 1967. I've seen just about every attraction the park has had to offer. It gets better every year!
This came out the year I was born. It's my birthday today, and I got something from my dad about different things that happened that year ❤😊
This TH-cam channel is an absolute game-changer in the Michael Jackson short film preservation world. As a Michael Jackson super fan since 1982 I can't thank you enough for these short films remastered.
the original Guardians of the Galaxy
Don't get it twisted brnuh,This is good but not like Guardians of the Galaxy😊!!!!!
@@peppermontague6651kinda of
Not quite. The Guardians of the Galaxy were introduced in Marvel in 1969.
@@MH-zg5yw Oh i never knew that. still a pretty cool music video for its time.
I stood in line for 2 hours to see this at Disney when I was a kid. The water fountain in front of the entrance was great. Does anyone remember the water fountain out front??
I remember the water seem like it was jumping out. Man I watched this twice at Disneyworld in the 80's. Man this was so rare. I swear it was in 3D.
Kool. Yeah inwas fascinated by the water. Still one of the best 3D experiences I ever had.
@@charlzincharge2281 it was in 3D!
I love this so much. This entire film. I can’t help but laugh every time MJ says Hooter his voice cracks. I’ve never heard MJ’s voice do that before he’s always been so smooth.
They showed this again in Disneyland Paris when he died. With the 4D Cinema Effects it still was amazing,, even it has some age on it.
This was my favorite part of Disneyland... MJ was the greatest!
I have to applaud the practical effects for the time, it was awesome in 3D back in 1991. Love and will always miss MJ.
Ok this must be how Angelica Huston got the role of the grand high witch in The Witches. Same voice and hand movements. Good stuff.
The film looks fantastic I have never seen this before
6:08 POV: it's 3am and your trying to get some snacks from the kitchen with your sibling(s) without waking up your parents
Man... Im still waiting on a captain EO comic, show, movie or something
Same
a 3-d comic was made back then complete with glasses.
What the movies and video games taught everyone is that if you are MJ enemy he's going to make you dance.
This was the place for my elderly grandparents to take a little rest after walking us around Disneyland all day. May they RIP
Being in my 30s I can see the need to get some AC and sit down after taking kids around disneyland all day lol.
Youngster cannot even comprehend the sock of experiencing for first time a 4D movie with polarized goggles and practical effects within the theater. I watched it during the opening year of Eurodisney. There is no substance in the plot technically and artistically the movie is awesome.
😢Loved this!!!
Angelica absolutely beautiful 😍
Anytime I'm sad.. I watch this. When he died.. So did a bunch of magick.. Now we just keep slipping into darkness. We need this magick back.
This is great! Hopefully Disney will release it one day in high quality.
Just got hip to this. I dont wanna hear nothing about Beyonce or Drake till they've hit this level😤😤
If you need any proof the 80s were the greatest decade of all time, watch this film.
Never saw this one as a kid. I love when he goes into we are here to change the world. Oooo
I remember seeing this for the first time at Disneyland. MJ was like a superhero to me. Long live the king
Captain EO’s costume somewhat reminds me of his HIStory outfit
Michael Jackson did a great job as Captain EO!
最後の最後の動きまで本当にかっこいい!
マイケル大好き!
This gives me tears and I remember watching this at Disneyland when I was little kid. Love the memories of this!
Anjelica Huston's character is very Borg Queen esq and quite menacing!! Maybe the Star Trek TNG staff were inspired by her portrayal.
This was before TNG. It’s been said Michael wanted the character to be scary.
Yes, I know that.@@RocStarr913
This was so cute. Wish it had been made into a full film.
I deeply miss Michael Jackson; I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have matured listening to his music and witnessing his unparalleled creativity come to life, sparking inspiration not just within a generation but across the globe. ❤
the energy from seeing this "live" in the Disney theatre in 3-D was really something else.
I’ve been looking for this EVERYWHERE and i’m glad i found it
i remember i had this dvd that showed the making of this and i remember michael actually got hit with one of the whips during rehearsal 😭
