Suzuki Alto VXL AGS 2021(660cc) Detailed Review in Pakistan / New Car on a Budget

- Here's our detailed review of Suzuki Alto VXL AGS, which was launched in 2019 in Pakistan. This Alto VXL has a 3 cylinder 660cc engine that is capable of returning up to 22 KM/L of fuel average under ideal conditions. However, during our testing, it gave a combined average of 18 KM/L with A/C in summers. Being a small engine, it performs quite well in the city.
We have also shared its specs and features along with a Point of View (POV) drive for a better driving analysis. Some of its features are actually quite good including all powered windows and auto-retracting side mirrors. Furthermore, it's rear legroom and headroom is also quite decent given its compact size. Alto VXL is also equipped with 2 Airbags for front passengers and ABS brakes for a better braking experience.
The VXL variant of Alto is the range topping variant, however, there are 2 more variants i.e. Alto VX & Alto VXR. The price of Alto VXL AGS is around 1.55 Million PKR after registration. The Pakistani market has welcomed the new Alto as it has been the best selling car of Pakistan since last year. The AGS (Auto Gear Shift) transmission is a bit jerky however, it's better to test drive it before buying one. Alto is also offered in 5-Speed manual transmission that is available in VXR variant.
In terms of passenger comfort and road noise, it's much better than its predecessor, however, it's still not ideal. The stock wheel size is 145/80/R13 and even the VXL variant doesn't have factory fitted Alloy wheels. Furthermore, Alto's rear seats can be folded down to create more room for luggage. Please note that it doesn't come with a spare tyre. Instead, all variants of Alto comes with a tyre repair kit.

Hy . Alto VXR mai ABS breaks nai ati , just VXL mai ABS hai + VXL mai back camera bhi company ke taraf se nai ata.
Brother VXR not have ABS brakes!
No comparison with the brand new car. Big problem with second hand is that sellers always hide the faults and later on one has to spend more to rectify it. Another problem is that second hand cars are already very expensive, let’s say for Corolla 2005 or 2006 model, people demand more than 15 lac rupees, they even hide the actual km’s car has travelled. In Pakistan its very risky to buy a second hand car as you are not sure whether amount you spent is worth or not.

Fuel average you mentioned is very low. I get at least 22 all the times even though my commutes are small. If I drive with light foot I easily get 24. I have never seen it go below 20 no matter how rough I drive it. My car is driven about 15k now and was bought few months after the release.

There is a method to use ags,when we accelerate and rpm increase the engine noise also start increase but in that mean time if we slightly lift our feet ( before the engine reaches max. Rpm and sound) the gear changes so sound can be control.
That's the correct way to drive it.

Can you elaborate which noise decibel app you are using for cabin insulation as I got 60 to 65 in my car.
Sure, we are using “Decibel X” app. The difference in your result and our result is most probably due to the different frequency of dB. We use dB-Z not dB-A in our tests. Hope that helps!

Don’t you think the used car argument applies to any brand new car? Take any brand new car and compare it with a used car at the same price point, the used one will always be the better car. Case in point for 6 mil why get a new Sportage when you can get a slightly used Grand Carnival or an older model prado? Or why get a grande for 4 mil when you can get an old merc or even a crown?

Tentative delivery date given by Pak Suzuki to me was 27 October (4 months time) but despite passage of 6 months, I didn't get it, so far, on this day, 1st january 2023.

VXL has manual option as well. That is very useful if you don’t like AGS.
The steering of ALTO does come back after turning. Please use cars in new/good condition for proper review.

16 lac isn't really a budget car. Under 1 million can be considered a budget car, you guys should definitely do used car reviews in that range.

Ags is a good option kyun kay nai hai warranty hai average achi hai or size city driving kay liay ideal hai agr apko family car kay toor pay use karni hai jispay aap long pay jaa sakain to I would suggest swift,used 16 17 model mil jai gi 15 16 main agr japanese chahiay to n wgn acha option hai,baki sedan me i would recommend belta in japanese cars and corolla xli 2010 11 pichli shape 12 bhi mil jai gi,or civic reborn bhi acha option hai par bht chali hui hogi or fuel average bhi buri hogi

What is criteria of road noise test?kindly explain
We drive the car at 60 KM/H on a straight road for a few minutes while the decibel meter app is running. We then compare the results with rest of the cars that we have recently reviewed. For the sake of consistency, same phone and app is used for all tests.

No comparison with JDM but JDM cars are risky to buy 3 years old atleat mostly frontal accidental 100k driven Parts very expensive and not available. This car is giving me 20 in city and 25-26 onn long low maintainence cost parts available and good family car.
