It's 3 years later and I just got fitted for these. On the sim they were glorious. The weighted toe immediately fixed the left miss I have and the dispersion was unreal. I can't wait to bring these to the course.

Just got fitted for a mix of these. 5,6,7 z585 and 8,9,pw z785. Kbs c-taper lite 110. Felt unbelievable...corrected left miss and added 5-7 yards. (97mph driver speed/hcp10) couldn’t be happier.

I picked up a set the other day. They have solid feel to them. Maybe a little more offset than I would like, but I hate offset. Slightly firmer feeling than a pure Forged, but that’s the trade off for distance with height. I like knowing I can adjust loft and lie if needed. Srixon makes great irons!

Lovely looking clubs, as a high handicapper could I use thev585 and Z85 woods? Many thanks Martin on a great review.

The Z585 are definitely Srixon’s GI irons but I would advise you to look at the SGI irons for a higher handicap player. You may want to also hit Mizuno JPX-919 & Ping G700. I’m a single digit handicap & I think that the sole on the Srixon’s are the best but they’re not the longest or most forgiving. Hope that helps.

Just ordered a set of Z585's after being fitted. Didn't bother with blending the two model's as the 585 worked great for me!!! Be glad when they get here as really want to play a full round with them!!! Great Review

What shafts did you end up with?

I was just fitted into some z585s, I ended up going project x 6.0 shafts., they are not one of the shafts they are available in unfortunately.

My dilemma is the following. After years of having different irons - ranging from ping, Tm, Callaway, xxio, Hogan’s, I ended up last year with the z565 unfortunately just before the z585 was released at a great price though and superb aftermarket graphite shafts. I did try the z585 with the Miyazaki Mahana shaft. I really liked them and found a little more consistency and slightly more distance than my current 565s. Not worth the upgrade as I use 6-PW only with hybrids and other woods. However as my game has improved and I love forged soft buttery feel and with the recent release of the apex cf19 I have been thinking about what to do. Apex a little thicker and too much offset though feel slightly better. Perhaps the thing to consider though never tried them is to look at the 785? In left hand they do not make a gap ugh academic as I love my Cleveland RTX 3 wedges (gap and up) with the same shafts. Any thoughts?

I just traded Callaway Apex 19 with 80 gram graphite shafts for Srixon 785 with 120 gram steel shafts from Callaway pre-owned. I never did like the Apex's. Hollow feels terrible, too much offset, too light, lofts are too strong. You actually lose distance because of launch and I'm a very high ball hitter. Also a 1 handicap and a certified clubmaker for over 30 years. The Srixon's feel better, look better, and perform better for me. I'm 66 years old and my friends talked me into trying the Apex with graphite. No more graphite shafted hollow irons and extra strong lofts for me. Solid forged head and steel shafts are the way to go for me.

I had the pleasure of a fitting with Nick Hibbs at Tour X Golf yesterday. The Z585s were amongst ten irons I tested. The only ones close were the PXGs at three times the price - and I preferred the Srixons anyway. Can't wait to use them!

Stronger static lofts on 585 probs giving extra distance over other one.
