- Revert Muslim sisters #Iftar held in #Birmingham to promote sisterhood and combat loneliness during #Ramadan.
"A special Ramadan Iftar was held for women who newly converted to the Islamic faith. Taking place at Savannah Restaurant, Balsall Heath, the event brought together women fasting for the first time ever, who felt isolated from their communities."

Please love on the reverts, to us it is confusing and very lonely. A new language to lean in order to pray, we are hard on ourselves sometimes. For many of us we have lost family relations due to our reversion.

I'm Turkish muslim. Even though I was born into a muslim friendly society and access to the Quran, I promise you it was as hard to understand as for reverts. I don't speak Arabic and the Quran is sometimes difficult to interpret, but still after all this effort it's incredibly rewarding. Hamdullah. We all have our own special connection with Allah wa taala, so don't give up!

In Malaysia every year during EID we have open house inviting friends and relatives to come over....
Our lovely revert Muslim brothers and sisters, please walk on this journey gradually. Don't make this journey too hard on yourself. Changing one's religion is a huge decision. Our revert brothers and sisters need Muslim community support for which local Muslim community should organize programs to increase their interaction and provide new reverts emotional, social or whatever support they can extend to them.

Hosting Iftar dinner is very common practice in Muslims society. It brings people closer and creates community sentiments.

Very good idea, it strengthens the bond, creates love in the community plus new Muslims can make friends I would love to know in which city/ town/ area this has taken place, secondly in my humble opinion we should have a similar gathering one or twice a year by pooling resources and hiring a community hall or in a mosque
That sounds brilliant, we have a community space that we try do as much work within the community as we can, especially for sisters like the ones in the video. We are based in Birmingham which is where this event and project took place
The thumb line is a bit inappropriate. It could be to share meals with the community.Anyway sometimes reverts are neglected. But they have high level Taqwa.
I Dua you and your friends imam will grow. That you'll find makrifat inshallah. We from Malaysia Dua that all reverts among your community and every where in the world would always be close to Allah and would always be peaceful

If you are lonely , think of Allah and do something good like inviting people for Iftar , pray(sunnat prayers ) and ask something (doa ) from Allah anyhing , especislly to forgive our sins ..

I have never heard of such a silly word as "revert". It seems to suggest that somebody was already a Muslim and then came back to it after becoming another religion. Where did they concoct it from ? Can't be from the inventors of the English language. Must be an American transplant.

Revert sisters should not be lonely. This suggests they are being ignored. Muslim women have failed in their duty to support revert sisters.
If that's the case they will get a chance to ignore them too
