I remember when that club was renamed The Mayfair in the early 1980s before closing down. By the way back in the 1970s I attended several social events at Swan Bank Methodist church with my family. They were and still are a very active church.
Health and safety legislation 30 years away from when that picture was taken. So many people were getting killed or seriously injured at work by 1974 that government eventually had to act.

At one time Burslem had everything. When I was little it was more of a treat to go there than to Hanley.

Burslem is Robbie Williams' home town! He lived at the Red Lion pub in the town.
