Due to this setback, we are going to wait until the new pond is bullet proof before we put Bonnie and Clyde in. We are going to put either bait fish or game fish in first just to test the waters. Comment below what you would like to see... A catfish, bluegill, crappie, or some bait like goldfish or shiners.
I've loved the pond series. I suggest both shiners and catching a few fish from out on the lake. You might also want to take a trip back to where you got the lillies and butterfly net the water to gather some more insects from the area just to bolster the pond when you do full water changes.
Drainage should have been part of the plans and instillation. It was built to fail and did all because of failed drainage, because it wasn't in the design.
yep how many times has the pond been drained now ? how many times have new run off pipes been laid. I would hand the water bills and drainage receipts right to the person who screwed up the design pre installation .
I really admire the way you keep a positive attitude about everything. I'm sure that was difficult seeing the damage to your new pond. Could have been a lot worse so that was a stroke of luck. I'm waiting to watch this project progress and thrive!
I agree. Too much doom and gloom preached today, there's positives in everything. Sure this was a let down, but with a positive attitude, they fixed the problem.
When it’s all ready and Bonnie and Clyde are in the pond you should definitely try some top water baits of course without the hooks and see some AWESOME blow ups!
Outstanding job recovering from the storm. That had to be a let down, get your pond all nice and ready to go, then mother nature threw a wrench at you. But you ducked and the wrench cleared you and you got it back looking good again. Hopefully, no more tropical storms this season!
Wow man you are so calm and composed. I would have freaked out If had to face a hurricane after a new and such an expensive pond built. I hope it all works out to the best from here.
Fabulous pond! I didn’t need to account for hurricanes when building my pond in the UK. Enjoy your pond nothing is better than a glass of wine watching the fish do their thing, it’s hypnotic. Before you know it the stresses of the day have melted away:
Loved the new video Stephen! Man you did a great job cleaning the pond out. Nothing easier than servicing one of our Aquascape Ecosystem Ponds! Good idea on the drains. I can't wait to see the fish swimming in there. Have a great week man!
I started binge watching your videos when you put the 5 acre pond in and am now going back to get some sort of time context. Such a shame that your beautiful pond got washed out but knowing you, you’ll have it ship shape in no time. 😊
Funny hearing you talking about these cool concept ideas and in you new 5 acre videos you literally apply every idea you had it’s amazing great content
I know people consider mudfish or bowfin a trash fish. But id think it would be cool to but a 3-5 pound mudfish in the pond. Mudfish are so aggressive it, it would be awesome blow ups on frogs, lizards or even baitfish once they hit the water. I believe mudfish look cool too!
CoreyBanksFishing I don’t think they have bowfin in Alabama, I could be wrong but I don’t know, but my favorite species of fish in freshwater to target is bowfin, great fighters and super underrated, but they can be aggressive at times, I’ve seen fish tanks with them and peacocks, largemouth, gar, and other species and it might be okay to have them
I really don’t think nobody would dislike his videos sometimes people accidentally touch the wrong buttons or try sliding down on their phones and hit the dislike buttons but I really don’t think nobody meant to dislike the video
Good stuff Stephen, I love your positive attitude! The pond looks awesome again :) Call us if we can help you in any way, we all want your pond to be amazing for you (and Bonnie & Clyde). Glad you survived the hurricane! - Happy Pondering
Definitely not letting anything holding you back, great work mate. I’m from New Zealand but I personally think Bluegills and Sunfish would be a good starting fish to put in there. Then put the bass in there, keep it up man.
Im sorry about that! I live in Ohio and We've had rain for 48 hours straight from Gordon! All the way over hear! I can't imagine what it's like there! Sorry Bamabass
Same in New Jersey. It was 95 degrees and sunny all week (too hot though) and then suddenly it was 50-60 degrees and raining for 3 days lol. Honestly it was too hot before it, but I think 50 is too cold. I like it at 75 degrees and cloudy with a slight drizzle every once and a while.
Good Job on the cleanout Stephen! That silence you heard with the pumps being turned off is what we call BP and AP..before pond and after pond..after having a pond and hearing the waterfalls run nobody knows what they did before ever having one..you only realize this when the pumps are off. I would put some mosquito fish in for a nice feeder fish population. To kick off the bacteria I would add some bluegills in. If you do a catfish you should look at an albino channel catfish.
Looks awesome! I bet you guys are relieved Gordon wasn’t what Florence is! I have relatives and friends right in the middle of the path, in Jacksonville and Pamlico county. But there is the one by Florence that might head into the gulf, I hope not! I have had a couple small ponds, but not anywhere near this size. However, we bought our first house two years ago, and I’m putting in one about half this size. I have worked with a couple big ponds so I’m confident I can do my own work, if not I have a couple buddies who worked with a pond company. I’m just going with ornamental koi’s at this time. The place I’m getting from will take them back when they get too big for my pond, and swap them for smaller ones. Great job everyone did on yours. It gave me some ideas as well. Good luck with your pond and hope it keeps thriving!
I’ve been trying to talk the person who runs the neighborhood in Stonebridge on 31 to build a pond in my neighborhood and he said he probably will next year I’m pumped!😀
So awesome!!!!! I like think you should use shiners or shad keep it as real "bass habitat" as possible. And you have to do the go pros in the water!!! More than one and at different places in the pond.
I think you should catch a big crappie and put it in the pond, and while you're at it get a smaller one (4-5 inches) and put it in the 55 gallon with Moby for now and then when you put Bonnie and Clyde in the pond, you can put Moby and the little crappie in the 300 gallon.
Put a speck,catfish,and some shiners
I've loved the pond series. I suggest both shiners and catching a few fish from out on the lake. You might also want to take a trip back to where you got the lillies and butterfly net the water to gather some more insects from the area just to bolster the pond when you do full water changes.
For the water i think you should try some catfish that would really be the test fish
I think a catfish would be a good warrior to test the waters
Plz do a channel catfish!
That’s making lemonade out of lemons! I wish we had time to get those drains in. Welcome to “Living the Aquascape Lifestyle” bud!
You and your guys had done an amazing job with the pond and aquascaping.
Definitely the man to hire for a pond
You guys did great work on this one. I've watched quite a few of your videos and this is one of my favorite ponds of yours.
get a catfish
Drainage should have been part of the plans and instillation. It was built to fail and did all because of failed drainage, because it wasn't in the design.

When it’s all ready and Bonnie and Clyde are in the pond you should definitely try some top water baits of course without the hooks and see some AWESOME blow ups!
Or just throw in some small mice, even better
Thanks for the update, one of the most beautiful backyard ponds I’ve ever seen.
That cleaned up pretty nicely...quick and smart thinking
Nice recovery man. Hate it happened, but glad it was early on instead of later when the fish were in. Awesome pond and great channel! Roll Tide!!!
Outstanding job recovering from the storm. That had to be a let down, get your pond all nice and ready to go, then mother nature threw a wrench at you. But you ducked and the wrench cleared you and you got it back looking good again. Hopefully, no more tropical storms this season!
Put some blue catfish and shiners in your pond or test it please !!!
Wow man you are so calm and composed. I would have freaked out If had to face a hurricane after a new and such an expensive pond built. I hope it all works out to the best from here.
TIME FOR A FEW CRAPPIE!!
And don't forget the bluegills
Fabulous pond! I didn’t need to account for hurricanes when building my pond in the UK. Enjoy your pond nothing is better than a glass of wine watching the fish do their thing, it’s hypnotic. Before you know it the stresses of the day have melted away:
Put a crappie in and name him Gordon like the hurricane lol
Steve, put a smallmouth in there! Also, we have to have some frog blowups! I cannot wait to see this. Thanks for the great content.
probably like a small flathead or something for the pong, but definitely need a daang crappie in the tank
Loved the new video Stephen! Man you did a great job cleaning the pond out. Nothing easier than servicing one of our Aquascape Ecosystem Ponds! Good idea on the drains. I can't wait to see the fish swimming in there. Have a great week man!
It's actually kinda good you got this lesson from mother nature before Bonnie & Clyde moved outdoors.
I started binge watching your videos when you put the 5 acre pond in and am now going back to get some sort of time context. Such a shame that your beautiful pond got washed out but knowing you, you’ll have it ship shape in no time. 😊
Hey guys good luck with the pond
That pond turned out amazing. Congrats on your success.
Keep up the great work I love your vids
Man that pond looks good. Bonnie and Clyde will love it!
I'd go with a crappie, or catfish and some feeder fish- whatever you usually feed Bonnie and Clyde. All that red clay reminds of growin up in Georgia.
Funny hearing you talking about these cool concept ideas and in you new 5 acre videos you literally apply every idea you had it’s amazing great content
Get a catfish the caves will be perfect for them
Hi
That damage wasnt as bad as i thought it would be but im glad it bounced back so quickly. Im so excited to see fish in there!
I think you should get a bunch of feeder shiners for the test fish.
lol, thank you for retrieving my drone Bamabass! Pond looks great!
Crappe, catfish, and shiners
Sorry for the setback, but you have a good recovery plan guys.... The pond is absolutely beautiful cant wait to see it mature!....
Make filets of the mudfish before the Bass go in.
CoreyBanksFishing I don’t think they have bowfin in Alabama, I could be wrong but I don’t know, but my favorite species of fish in freshwater to target is bowfin, great fighters and super underrated, but they can be aggressive at times, I’ve seen fish tanks with them and peacocks, largemouth, gar, and other species and it might be okay to have them
Great video of your pond! Thanks for sharing!
Crappie and catfish
Good stuff. Got some ideas for my own pond area. Keep it up
Carl Winslow www.aquascapeponds.com
Who can dislike a bamabass video
Parker Lemmon somebody wanted to be first at something I guess
Yeah probly
Someone who has a neighbor with a stinky pond?
I really don’t think nobody would dislike his videos sometimes people accidentally touch the wrong buttons or try sliding down on their phones and hit the dislike buttons but I really don’t think nobody meant to dislike the video
Or maybe they hate to see hurricane damage so they see the thumbs down as a way to dislike that haha
Be sure to cycle the pond. It looks awesome guys. Great work and Congrats.
Is sheriff the bluegill going in there
Is there any way you could drain the pond then refill it with clean/clear water
A Catfish please! That would be so cool!
Definitely get a crappie like you said, but adding a little channel cat to the pond would be really cool too. Good work, love your videos!
Crappie,catfish,crawfish,and minnows
jonathon goodding yes exactly what I was thinking
I can't believe how awesome the pond turned out.
Will bowser eventually make it to the pond!??
When he gets big enough so the bass cannot eat him.
Hell yeah! I didn’t think you’d respond. 💯
Glad the pond and fish are okay! Looking good👍
Can Bowser eventually go in the pond?
It's alabama, what low temperatures? The only problem is having it leave.
ScottyVapes was it Paul Cuffaro
I was thinking the same thing!
Christopher Bourlokas what I was thinking
He is to little right now the bass will eat him
Mosquito fish are definitely positive add-on... Good job... Nice pond... Enjoy!
You need underwater LED lights for a nice night time effect
Great pond! Cant wait to see bonnie and clyde in it!
I miss my boy moby
di3s3l44 what happened to moby?
Nothing we just havent seen him in a while because of the pond construction
Good stuff Stephen, I love your positive attitude! The pond looks awesome again :) Call us if we can help you in any way, we all want your pond to be amazing for you (and Bonnie & Clyde). Glad you survived the hurricane! - Happy Pondering
Love BamaBass
Man that is sad. That pond was beautiful. Hope you can recover without to much trouble
Love the vids
Milton FL here, get those fish in there so I can come check out the pond! Awesome job man!
Get a chain pickle in there
Get a large channel catfish
Jesus Ramirez mamalo
Nice video, I like how you put so much effort into it!
Huge fan
Definitely not letting anything holding you back, great work mate. I’m from New Zealand but I personally think Bluegills and Sunfish would be a good starting fish to put in there. Then put the bass in there, keep it up man.
Put a warmouth in the pond it’s an awesome fish
Definitely underwater cams. Pond came out great and did really well during Gordon.
For the test fish you should catch them
So glad that thing turned before it hit birmingham. Bad luck man but I know you'll have it back to perfect
Im sorry about that! I live in Ohio and We've had rain for 48 hours straight from Gordon! All the way over hear! I can't imagine what it's like there! Sorry Bamabass
Andrew E and the Buckeyes still rolled!!!
Andrew E Same in Cincinnati
Shotgunman72 In western Ohio from Thursday through Sunday we had almost 11 inches of rain total...
Same I’m Cleveland
Same in New Jersey. It was 95 degrees and sunny all week (too hot though) and then suddenly it was 50-60 degrees and raining for 3 days lol. Honestly it was too hot before it, but I think 50 is too cold. I like it at 75 degrees and cloudy with a slight drizzle every once and a while.
A catfish cause there's plenty of deep little coves they could hide out in. Loved it as always! Keep up the good work!
Put a fish in that requires the same environment that Bonnie and Clyde need
gold fish won’t be a reliable test fish, they are a carp much hardier
Great recovery effort on your part.
Mosquito fish aren’t good to use as a test fish because they can tolerate the absolute worst living conditions. PUT A CRAPPIE IN!!!
May I ask what’s a crappie
@@kairunissahameed2943 a fish
Shout out LFG! That's was hilarious! 😂😂😂
Shad minnows.
Beautiful. Nothing more to say but BEAUTIFUL!
A couple Catfish would be awesome in the pond! I have a couple and they are really active and topwater eaters
That underwater feeding angle is a great idea. I'd love to see that. Could learn a lot using hookless baits and stuff as well.
Ok where is part 2 for the world record chasing series? I hope you're milking it because you caught the record..
ItsAzazell I was wondering the same
Start with some feeder fish and then add in a catfish!! I love watching them feed! Glad the hurricane didn’t cause too much damage.
You need pickerel rush
Good Job on the cleanout Stephen! That silence you heard with the pumps being turned off is what we call BP and AP..before pond and after pond..after having a pond and hearing the waterfalls run nobody knows what they did before ever having one..you only realize this when the pumps are off. That would be cool to get a catfish or gar
Beautiful pond👏👏👏 looks awesome
Please put a crappie in
Looks like you handled that well good job brother.
Put a crappie
Looks awesome! I bet you guys are relieved Gordon wasn’t what Florence is! I have relatives and friends right in the middle of the path, in Jacksonville and Pamlico county. But there is the one by Florence that might head into the gulf, I hope not!

Great job everyone did on yours. It gave me some ideas as well. Good luck with your pond and hope it keeps thriving!
Red tail catfish, that would be an awesome edition
It would die over the winter because its a warm water fish.
A red tail catfish can grow to 5+ feet and will eat Bonnie and Clyde.
I’ve been trying to talk the person who runs the neighborhood in Stonebridge on 31 to build a pond in my neighborhood and he said he probably will next year I’m pumped!😀
Flathead catfish or something just do a catfish please cuz i have one and it keeps my tank clean
Loving the pond, can't wait for the fish to go in. Put bluegill and mosquito fish and maybe some Goldfish. But definitely more Bass
First I think
Underwater cameras would be awesome a little live stream every now an then just showing how the fish swim around enjoying their new home
Can we get a catfish?????
I like this. The ideas I get now from seeing this.
Put a catfish in there
I’m convinced you just wanted to start the waterfall again
Catfish
beautiful beautiful BEAUTIFUL pond! I love it!
catfish plzz
I have to say the pond looks perfect
Wow looking good guys! glad all is well after that hurricane!! we are now getting some of the left over from that is well here in Ohio!
So awesome!!!!! I like think you should use shiners or shad keep it as real "bass habitat" as possible. And you have to do the go pros in the water!!! More than one and at different places in the pond.
Hoping to see some fish this evening guys! :)
I think you should catch a big crappie and put it in the pond, and while you're at it get a smaller one (4-5 inches) and put it in the 55 gallon with Moby for now and then when you put Bonnie and Clyde in the pond, you can put Moby and the little crappie in the 300 gallon.
