Rick waved to us with bunny ears at 4:50 while ripping a crazy solo. God bless him, his talent, and his humour.
This Drummer is PHENOMENAL! _Man_!
This man is a genius. Simply the best keyboard player in the world.
ricks just fuckin´ awesome
used to think Jon Lord was masterful but keep coming back to Rick....the guy is beyond anything that ever touched a keyboard
Keyboard king 🎹
Rick is so awesome... but WOW! the drummer is awesome too! Rick always surrounded himself with other great musicians as well!
I saw Rick with the English rock ensemble in Cincinnati in the 70’s. Opening band was gentle giant. Great show!!
Why doesn't anyone ever mention that Rick, besides being a great player, also is the one keyboard player who has alway understood that a keyboard is an instrument in its own right with a distinct and personal sound. A pianosound on a Roland is very different from a Korg and certain keyboards are better (or worse) in producing certain sounds. That's why he has so many keyboards on stage (9 keyboards + 9 rack modules) and THAT's what sets him apart from players that use only 1 or 2 to do it all.
the v50 synth in all it's glory... Very nice!
Bach would be proud to know Wakeman. I love them both.
I dont believe I have ever heard a better keyboard player...
It will be 30 years ago this November I had the honour of playing keys with Rick on stage in London.
you can't get better then this!!
Amazing !
Just unreal. The man closes his eyes and paints a picture with his music.....like his Mum told him to do.
His piano teacher told him to do that….the girl with freckles lol
The one and only!the Master of Keybords, and the Magician of Progressive Rock,Mr Rick Wakeman.
Trop bien
Very great drummer...
Fantastic... The best! ... I lived this moments when I was sixteen. Unforgetable! ...
Mr. Wakeman, the number one on keyboards, no doubt!!
You just can't play like that!! He's not human!! Fuckin' awesome
This version is so much cooler then the old one
Anne would be honoredd for such a tribute. Thank you Mr. Wakeman.
I absolutely agree - brilliant
I have the cd of this live and it s fantastic
The best line up you will ever get to grace a stage.
Rick, Tony, Dave, and Ashley, PERFECTION.
Master ! Good drumming !
Awesome. One of the best Wakeman performances.
David Paton.
Hero of my youth and beyond.
Genio de las teclas!!!
Quelle joie de l'écouter à nouveau. C'est génial.
OMG! THIS....is a nice lineup. That drummer is fantastic! l LOVE this! Way to go Rick.
The musical magician ... in all his brilliance.
Pure genius, God given talent is Rick.
2018.. still is one of the best rick preformace for me!
First I am not a musician. I enjoy the Classics: Bach Beethoven and Yes. And for the 70's and beyond there is no R&R pianist like Mr. Wakeman. Bravo. Such beautiful movement through vibrations of sound. Thank you for this wonderful piece.
Rick has been my hero for 4 decades. Along with millions of other creative beings.
Pure beauty by the one-and-only Keyboards Wizard.
All three, just amazingly proficient players-can't remember the last time I saw a great percussion solo. Wakeman blows my mind.
It is sad friend, is logical! The masses do not differentiate the good from the bad! God gave us a privileged ear to appreciate this greatest of the music!
Greetings from Argentina and RIK WAKEMAN LIVE!
Atte. Colonel. James Braddock
LOVE FOR RICK WAKEMAN
Tony Fernández , Rick wakeman y David Paton❤️❤️
That's what I mean. Not only is he a great musician he's also a great (midi)tech and programmer. He's said that he really doesn't like to use pre-programmed patches but likes to tweak them. And if he doesn't like the feel of the keys he'll just midi the sound to another keyboard that has better expression. That part of him is a great inspiration to me as an electronic-drums player. My kit has 4 controlers so I can use the best sounds of each module. (and very few of them are onboard sounds)
VinicusLimaRS -- You are right. There are some of us who appreciate great music! Thanks for posting. Post more!
WOW! Rick and the whole band is just fucking amazing! Blows my mind!
Gary Brown - US Correspondent for Classic Rock Radio (Dot EU)
Gary Brown yep! a whole lotta talent in one room! hehe
A great oeuvre. The piano part at the end is absolut beautiful. Wow!
He makes it look so dam simple.....
I got here from searching for some good music, and this blown my mind, especially that part where Wakeman did the percussive stuff on his keyboard. Literally got me gaping in awe.
HOLY STINKIN' _DRUMMER!_ l just LOVE Rick! Always have, Always WILL!
Absolutely amazing
RICK WAKEMAN has his own TH-cam channel.
Great wizard wakeman is, even the drumming
Very Nice,..
Um mestre no teclado, maravilhoso sempre!
I went to see Yes 5/10 in Santa Rosa..Oliver Wakeman did a fantastic job...Chip off the old block..Met him afterwards..Such a gentleman. Too bad they did not appreciate him enough for their recent album. And Ben-Wa is no Jon Anderson. Wakeman Rules!!
can't get enough of this. so freaking good. ahhhh
I`m in tears... Wow!
Yes, fantastic !
Astonished!
I luv you, Rick xxxxx

LOS HUMANISTAS, UNA CULTURA MILENARIA DE APRENDIZAJE ETÉREO DIFÍCIL DE ENTENDER Y FÁCIL DE PRACTICAR
I think this is one of Wakeman's own best versions of this great piece! Amazing musicianship and skills!
Fantastic!
Great performance
I heard RW in Tivoli in Denmark dekades ago (In the 70´s).
Fantastic -got all his music at that time and Yes LP´s to.
... GENIAL
Maravilhaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!
Genuinely nice guy as well, saw him years ago at Rotherham Leisure Centre :) Very down to earth and very few pretensions. Not bad for a guy who once ordered 6 White Rolls Royces and subsequently blew all his fortune. Gotta love that :)
I agree, a musical genius indeed!
what musical genious!
Great, a really genious...
O.o'
Amazing!
fantástico....
They cannot be compared sweetheart. They are both equally talented, gifted, and extremely well trained. One style might differ from the other a wee bit but they are equal in all that is called beauty. Is one swallowtail butterfly more beautiful than another? I'm thankful a young woman like yourself gets to live out this same magical time in rock history as most of us did. Gone but not forgotten and carried on ahead by people like yourself ;)
Simply great!
Good to see Rick as good as ever.
Rich John Sumner
...maravillosoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the best sounds Rick does comes from the Roland D-50 Linear Synth, though I would love to hear him with an Oberheim OB-X
Probably the two best synths out there.
Excelente Video!!!!
Muchas gracias!
SO TRUE!
brilliant
Sounds like Roland U-220 piano sound, very unique sample set. Not much memory they had available those days (2MB total ROM for U-220) and yet, the results are remarkable. Together with strings it would border on cliche when played by someone else. But in Rick's hands I can listen to it over and over and will never get tired.
Muy bueno Sau2 desde Buenos Aires Argentina
Totally agree bruffie - and lets not forget that Rick, while doing grass roots piano with Strawbs etc. can also write for an orchestra - and has the 'feel' that so many keyboard players that while technically brilliant, do not seem to get across. This man is a genius :)
Wise words, I totally agree!
eccezionale
2:23 MAGIC!
Ahh those 'trills' !!
Incredible talent! RCM trained!
Hey, I was there in Brazil back then in 1977...!
because this f...g song he makes my life much, much more infinitely better!!
If I can put in my two cents: I think what sets Rick apart from the rest isn't so much his playing (others were great at that too (Keith Emerson to name but one)), but his interest in the instrument itself.
Rick was the first one with multiple, multiple keyboards on stage. At first Moogs because they had no (patch)memory. But even in this clip he plays 9 different keyboards (and typicaly via midi 9 more in rack version).
He rarely plays of the shelf pre-programmed sounds, but really pushes the envelope: programming, layering en combining sounds and keyboards to get totally unique sounds.
Oh dear, I digged it a lot and when it was over I died a bit.
The drummer is quite good.....
Joyce Sweeting The great Tony Fernandez!
Joyce Sweeting Quite good??? He is one of the best!
GandaMelgao agreed ! :)
Huh, didn't know that he was a lefty and plays military style. He was masterful on "No Earthly Connection."
yeah he’s great, but is there a human being in the world that likes long drum solos tho:)
